Arrived at Clube Praia Da Oura hot and tired after a 6 hour flight delay and were dismayed to find that the apartment we had been allocated could only be accessed by several flights of stairs. I immediately went back to reception and asked to be moved as my Hubby has a medical condition that meant he would have found it difficult to keep climbing lots of stairs. They had a note of my Husband's condition as I had advised them on booking so they immediately offered us another apartment that could be accessed by the lift which was perfect, Excellent customer service.
This resort is in the most fantastic location, one block of apartments which I believe are time-share have direct access to the beach and the most fantastic sea views, the other blocks overlook either gardens or one of the several pools. It is five minutes walk to The Strip where most of the bars and restaurants are located and if you take the lift to the ninth floor it is a level access walk. If you turn right when you exit the lift there is a selection of bars restaurants and shops on the doorstep. There is also a restaurant, bars and supermarket on site and a very good beach cafe serving one of the several beaches which is open until 11.00 pm. every evening, Wonderful to eat outside with moonlight glistening on the sea and then sipping cocktails which can be served on the beach..
The resort is spotlessly clean and there are lots of trees flowers and even an aviary and children's play area. There are gazebos set up near the beach where you can have a massage and there is a sauna available free of charge. Also the ocean view bar has a happy hour which lasts all afternoon.
As mentioned by other reviewers there is no air conditioning in the apartments but we hired a portable air con unit for 50 euros for the week which meant the bedroom was cool. It was very noisy though and you had to keep the window open as there was an outlet pipe, but it would have been very hot in the apartment without this as our block got sun all afternoon. Our one bedroom apartment was spacious with a large balcony furnished with sun loungers, table chairs and umbrella and was spotlessly clean, We also found the staff were efficient, friendly and hard working,
The weather was fantastic, the location was amazing and we had a wonderful holiday. It was our first visit to Portugal and CPO but it wont be the last.

At first I was very upset at the size of the studio apt and the pull out bed but the location was so nice that I soon forgot about it.The little ants on the floor were an unwelcome sight but did us no harm.
As usual, it was the setting of gardens, trees and flowers and closeness to the beach that make CPO so pleasant despite the accomodation needing updating, especially the furniture.
The staff could definitely try harder to be welcoming and the odd smile would not go amiss.
All in all I'd go back just for the location, the setting and the beach.

Room Tip: I would demand in writing to know precisely what apartment I was booked into if choosing a studio.

Just spent a week at the Clube Praia de Oura after swapping my timeshare via Dialanexchange.
THE APARTMENT although basic was spacious and clean? It was a 1 bed apartment in block E 840 and had a sea view from the huge balcony. There was very effective AC.
THE COMPLEX is large with good facilities including a bar restaurant, a bar and lounge with evening entertainment - can't comment on the quality of entertainment as we did not go to any of the shows. There is a large pool which does get crowded during the day, but as we are sun worshipers we were always by the pool by 0930 and had our choice of beds. The bar is handy for drinks or lunch and the menu is varied and reasonable about 6 Euro for a burger and chips. There is also a bowling green, with small bar and a massage table - very good!
THE SURROUNDING AREA. The location is the best thing about these apartments, you are just two minutes to the beach which has a nice row of bars and restaurants. You are also two minutes up the hill to 'the strip' which has numerous bars and restaurants. We enjoyed Sizzling Stone, Invictus and Wild & Co. There is also a quieter area to the right of Wild & Co where we tried a traditional Portugese restaurant Churrasqueira Beira.
If you like a quiet holiday you can have that but if you want clubs and pubs you can have that too - the choice is yours!

This is a very well run, spotlessly clean huge resort with 600 rooms. It is wonderfully located near the beach and has a huge pool. However the apartments don't have air conditioning in them and the one we had was south facing so had sun all day long, and although the temperature outside cools at night, inside the apartment is like an oven we just could not sleep at all even with the two fans provided. We hired an air conditioning unit for 50 euros per week and that worked, it cooled the room down (although we had to leave a window open to let the hot air out, so security issue) but the air con unit was so noisy, we still could not sleep. It was really spoiling our holiday, we were so tired. Luckily as we are timeshare owners, they agreed to move us into the Oura Praia Aparthotel. What a difference, we could sleep! So beward when booking, make sure you avoid rooms from 500 - 900, I think they are all the numbers facing south, we were in 817. The resort and beaches are wonderful, the beach restaurants serve the most wonderful fresh fish and you can take a lovely walk along the beach or cliff top for miles. Albufeira itself at night is very noisy and commercialised, not for us but very lively if you like bars etc.The beach at Albueira is huge and very nice so worth a day out.

In the area of Club praia da oura there is a very good ticket agency where Helena will give you honest advice about booking day trips & excursions. The agency is called FINEST GOLF DEALS but sells all the excursions you will be looking for such as dolphin searching boat trips & visits to markets & towns & villages & all the other attractions & holiday activities. This agency will not sell tickets for bull fighting. I was so pleased to see that. Go & see Helena & if you are an animal lover you will have much in common with this helpful, friendly lady.

My husband and I have just returned from a week here , on an offer with KGB for £89 !!!! Wow , what an amazing offer . This is a large hotel complex , really well run , VERY clean and well maintained . The beach is only a short walk away but there are alot of steps and slopes so not good for disabled people , although there were alot od elderly there ! The beach is just beautiful and there is a walkway to the left where you can reach 2 little quiet beaches , each with great cafe/bar .
Our room ( A 808) was 3 flights up , with a sea view , massive balcony , comfy bed in a beautifully clean bedroom . Bed linen was spotless and changed regularly , as were the towels . Kitchen was well stocked with fridge , 2 ring cooker and lots of new equipment .
Only downside with our room was that it was next to a road which was very noisy at times , especially early in the morning .
Albefura old town was a short bus ride away with some lovely bars and restaurants . The strip is a short walk away , but we avoided it after one visit .... not our cup of tea !!!!! but it was very busy and loud !
Our favourite part of the holiday was sitting with a jug of sangrier on comfy bean bags on the beach in the moonlight with the sound of the waves lapping the shore ..... bliss !!!!!

Room Tip: room A 808 had a great balcony , view of the sea and sun all day

My boyfriend and I stayed in a studio apartment from Aug 26th - Sept 5th.
Studio - (pull up sofa bed, kitchenette, satellite flatscreen tv etc). First impression was that it was spotless. Basic but it was perfect for our needs. Our balcony over looked the pool so we had a nice view. (requested pool view when booking)

The beach is only a 5 min walk away. We stayed on the beach most days. Make sure to explore the beach during the day! Its well worth the walk up around the cliffs where there are some beautiful secluded beaches, just off the main beach (walk away from the resort up the beach past all the sunbeds and you will find a little cave, walk through this to explore when the tide is out... its fab).

We also did the 6.5hr Liana boat trip to explore the caves along the coast. Its 32eur pp for 6.5 hrs, bbq on a tropical beach, swim, caves & boat trip. Well worth the 64 eur for the day. (beach is gorgeous and the food is decent enough for what it is (pork chop, mixed salad bread wine/soft drink crisps). Would recomend this.

We also went to Slide&Splash, defo a must do!! New slide Tornado is brilliant!

CPO is 5 min walk to the "strip". It is a little bit stag/hen nighty but only after a certain time. I found it ok. Good atomsphere, was nothing like Aia napa or Magaluf. Defo nothing like that!! Its fine. The restaurants are ok. Nothing special.

The Old Town is 4/5 euro away in a taxi or a 25 min stroll. The Old town is much nice than the strip/new town. Fab viewing stop at the top of the escalaters.
It has great restaurants (try Bank restaurant in the main square) and wonderful quirky side streets. Lots of market stalls and kitch little shops for shopping.
Live music and buskers on the street. Brilliant atmosphere!!!

I need to mention also how great and helpful the staff in CPO where to us. Very friendly and helpful with any request we had. When i returned home I realised I had left an item if clothing behind in the room. I emailed reception and the confirmed they found it. They packaged it and returned it to me via post. This was very much appreciated!

All in all a fab holiday, highly recomend CPO hopefully we will be able to return next year :-)
