Not long back from a week in the Luna Clube Oceano. We travelled as a family of 4. The apartment was a good size, spacious and had all we needed for our weeks stay. We did not eat in the hotel but good to have an option to do so if we wanted. Lovely pool area, not too crowded with plenty of sun loungers. I liked how there were an array of inflatables available at the pool, not sure if they were provided by the hotel itself or whether(like ourselves) residents just left them there when they left. The hotel is in a good location, close to the beach and the old town. We went to the beach most days and walked along the beach to the old town which was a lovely walk. Another plus is that the hotel is very close to the bus for Aqualand and the staff were so helpful when it came to booking taxis etc. Taxi to the old town approx €4.50 which I thought was very good.

I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again if I was heading to Albuferia

Room Tip: We were on 4th floor - lovely view out onto the Atlantic Ocean

Stayed 27th august-7th September. I would say 3* is accurate for an overall rating but in terms of how we found it I'd say 4*

Positives: hotel staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming.
The rooms seem modern and are very spacious
The basement rooms have direct access to the pool through balcony doors
It is well located, 5 min walk to the beach, 10 min walk to the old town.
The rooms were cleaned every day
Kitchen is fully equipped with everything we could possibly need
Working air conditioning
English channels can be found on the television
Very homely feel

Negatives: shower doesn't stay hot consecutively for two people to shower
The room wasn't immaculately clean but nothing to moan about
The jacuzzis were freezing and one of them didn't work
The basement rooms don't see any sunlight, it's hard to know what time it is when you wake up and you can't sit on your balcony in the sun
You are given a list of rules which include no ball games (we love playing ball games) but I understand why this rule is around.

Thank-you very much for having us we loved our stay!

This was our first visit to the Algarve, but it will not be our last. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff at check-in was rather brusque and I was initially apprehensive. The rooms are a little out of date but you get what you pay for. The location is convenient, close to the beach and right in the middle of the old town and new.

The convenience of the in room kitchen and proximity to the pool was perfect for us. You could snack and drink throughout the afternoon. The pool was generally relaxed and quiet ( a few people that didn't think their children screaming every time they jumped into the pool may be annoying to other guests - but that seems to be the norm). No towels at the pool. The beds were comfortable and the linens changed daily, if so desired. The kitchen was stocked with basics, could have used dish wash liquid - other than that everything you need for a basic breakfast.

Room Tip: Lower floor rooms are perfect if you are going to spend time by the pool.

We chose this hotel because from the pictures we perceived it as one of these very comfortable hotels with a gym, a swimming pool, spacious rooms not far from the beach.
Part of it was there but pictures cannot reflect it all.
Lobby: atmosphere was gloomy. It was dark, there was no life with 3 guests sitting on the sofas not speaking or being spoken to. No music. Receptionists were nice, smiling polite but soooooo passive. They sat in the back all the time. They do not ask questions when you walk past them. They do not look for information. They do not spot the opportunity to engage, whether it is in an upselling perspective or just to engage guests into the brand or make us have an experience. They did not bring life to a lobby which is already very cold.
The smell of the lobby was something which disturbed us a lot. During 7 days it smelt of strong artificial fragrance. The same as the one cheap places spray the toilets with. The Luna club might not realize the impact this smell has and at which moment for the guests. When you have been travelling a long journey and you come to check in. When you have been out all day and suddenly come back home in the evening.
Maybe the staff would benefit from entering the building through the front door at times to see how it feels...

Room: spacious studio. When we checked in it was not very very clean. It has obviously been washed but it made me think cleaning with a fresh cloth would have helped. Comfortable. Big terrace. Calm. We did not have enough hot water. So when we tried to have a bath, we could only have a half bath. And this was everyday the case that we ran out of hot water.
No wardrobe. We had to put our clothes in the cupboard underneath the tv.
Maybe the room would benefit from an extra cupboard.

The corridors had a bad smell of humidity. They were dark. No music and long and cold.

Extra costs:
The safe was available but they charge 15euro to use it!!!!!!! To pay extra to use the safe is unbelievable. You do not pay for car park but pay for the safe. Why???
Happy to get a response on this. What is the logic? How do you think it can be perceived? Your guests travel with phones passports money and go out to the beach. Do you use the fact that they need security? Should you not show like any other hotels that you are happy to help guests protect their goods? You could also charge to put a look lock on the bedroom door.
Beach towels: it did not show anywhere that we had to pay for the rental of beach towels. A deposit can be justified but that should be it. Not rental.

Swimming pool: good size, clean, very nice area, could benefit from human presence such as a little bar because this is where people who are at the hotel tend to gather. Not at the bar inside or in the lobby.
Bar and restaurant: n/a not attracted to them

Gym: very good idea. Spacious room. Unfortunately the equipment is broken. All machines had something not working on them to the point where there was no point in using them. A cycling machine on which you cannot set the strength of pedalling.. . The mats were dirty.

Location: good. Not facing the beach but 5min walk from it. A few shops around. Easy to access bars and restaurants if needed and a quick taxi ride from the centre.

Value for money: it feels too much money. For the service provided and the state of the building it is too much.
Same building with lights, music, nice smell, humans in the lobby to bring life and a safe could have met our expectations.

Manager's cocktail is a nice idea but was the wrong time for us. Maybe a manager's breakfast would have been more accessible for all. Or simply having the managers present in the lobby in the morning to say hello and see the temperature.

Stayed before, still impressed. Good location, fair walk to Beach. Pool never Too busy. Friendly Staff (and Guests!) Children and lilos seem to take over Pool.
One request in over 3weeks - a plug for the bath? How tr icky is that. Told this has been highlighted previously -no action. No No.

Room Tip: Higher rooms are best.
