Stayed at Epic sana the last. 7 nights! The interiors, decor, room size ( we had a studio facing the pool), service, friendliness were all absolutely 5 stars!
The hotel itself was a bit far from the likes of olhas de agua, which is the nearest biggish town area ( too far for a walk with young kids), but there is a nice little cluster of restaurants just opposite the sana. We really liked the Chinese place ( pine view restaurant)
The only comment we had were the veggie options is the evening buffet were close to non existent. To be fair we were offered something by the friendly staff on every night like pasta, spaghetti etc. however, it does take away the magical pleasure of a buffet experience on holiday if you are searching for things to like!
The falesia beach is wonderful, as were the pools and the kids club at the sana.
Other than that, a big thank you to Tiaggo, victor and co at the sana for making our experience fantastic! We are very likely to return.

Room Tip: The suites are more expensive, but offer the best views at the resort. If you want to go with the st...

Recently back from a 7 night stay. We really enjoyed our holiday. Stayed in a 1 bed suite with its own sizeable verandah overlooking the picturesque pine trees. The suite was trendy and comprised of solid furniture, a most comfortable bed (sofa bed for the kids), a wonderful bathroom (and ensuite) with the largest shower i have enjoyed and a TV with speaker surround offering a pretty good selection of multinational channels. The rooms were serviced 3 times per day, the last to turn your bed and provide a chocolate - a nice touch.
The hotel has obviously been given a sizeable interior design budget and it does provide the wow factor.
I would reckon the hotel was about 20% occupied (although they said it would be full from August) which meant we had no trouble choosing our sun beds or "cabanas" - staff on hand to provide towels (you dont need to bring any towels as you can also use them for the beach). There are 3 outdoor pools, with 2 open decks. The pool temperature is cold but not a problem.
We used the Spa which is very luxurious with its own plunge pool, sauna etc and resting room - again very well designed.
Food consisted of buffets in 1 restaurant - when busier there are other restaurants. we were half board and each night had a different theme - quality and choice good although if you were here for 2 weeks could be repititive. breakfasts were awesome, with fresh omelettes etc.
Hotel is located near the beach (5 -10 mins) and close to shops / restaurants for lunch/ water (2 mins).
The Bluum bar was again trendy but quiet when we were there - the hotel isn't really for folk on wild nights out - its definitely more for couples / families. its a taxi drive to any bars.
Guests were from all over Europe - very varied incl many Portuguese.
Kids club was a success with our children - program is varied each day and they are flexible for activities
Overall its a classy place, exemplified by the staff, who were all excellent - all spoke good English, were great with our kids, and were keen to please.. they have done a great job at hiring engaged, enthusiastic staff.
Would definitely return again.

Just back from 7 nights stay at this wonderful propert Epic sana in portaguly, The resort own photos really do it justice. We had a double room with evening sunset view, big double bed, big balcony with modern furniture , high spec bathroom with fantastic rain shower , egg shaped bath etc. There is an espresso coffee machine with pods (1 euro each) make sure you put plenty of water in it otherwise it won't work. Plenty of wardrobe space and a large safe where you can charge up your I pads etc. The swimming pools are fabulous and all have steps down and not just a ladders, lots of sunbeds' chairs and parasols and of course pool towels which are free . The main restaurant serves both the buffet breakfast and dinner. As we had the Bed and breakfast but paid extra for evening buffet (36 Euro each) a few evenings we went out to eat in the local town , there are gourmet or pool restaurants in the hotel. The breakfast was the highlight every day, so much to choose from , not only your hot dishes but wonderful cakes and pastries, Yoghurts' smothies' fruit and they serve fresh orange juice and coffee at your table. We couldn't think of a single thing more that was needed. The buffet dinner was also excellent on the nights we eat there,, again good choice of starter, mains vegetables cheeses and deserts. Good wine list with prices around 20 euros upwards. We were lucky enough to be invited to the grand opening of the hotel with its special guest the President of Portugal, and a very fine `do` it was too!. The staff at reception are tremendous and very willing to help you ! We got some great tips for local lunch restaurants, as our friends had a car, they invited on a few trips (amazing) it was a nice break from the pool or beach. The beach is just down the road 81 steps down to it and its a big clean sandy beach, I would always superviseyour young children in the sea, as can be choppy. Sunbeds on the Beach cost 10 euros for half day and 13 for whole day.
Only 3 negative comments really
1.The bathrobes in the room are either for a size 10 or all the x-large ones have all shrunk :O(
2.The biggest pool should be for adults only, there are 2 pools for children (That were not being used for them) the children were a bit disturbing in the main pool, they're should a sign up telling adults to take there children to there own pools were it made safe for them !!! adults just want to swim up and down.
3.I think the coffee should be free, Lastly super marcaro (food store) just 100 meters from the hotel for your water etc. Would we come back ?yes perfect Hotel and company !

Stayed for 11 nights and can honestly say this is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. I worried with it being a new hotel that their may be some teething problems but that was far from the case. The staff cannot do enough for you and we found the fixture and fittings within the hotel were top class!

The Open Deck restaurant staff were marvelous with our twin girls - especially Andre and Marisa. Fabulous service, thank you! They are in many of our photos!! The food at Open Deck was delicious. We tended to have fish and the girls said the pasta was the best pasta they'd taster EVER! My little girl wanted "cake of the day" which wasn't one that she liked that night, so the restaurant manger said "What type of cake do you want and we'll get it for you?" 5 minutes later, voila - chocolate cake appeared! At the end of our dinner Andre would surprise us with some sort of concoction from the bar!!
We had lunch in Open Deck a few days too. There is a separate lunch menu during the day.
During the day one of the pool staff - Goncalo, was very good at making sure you had everything you needed. He went above the call of duty to make sure all guests were comfortable and happy.

Breakfast was outstanding in the Abyad restaurant! Omelettes or eggs cooked they way you want by the chef or a whole buffet of fruit, breads, meats, yoghurt etc.. There was even a chocolate fountain and champagne! Of course - had to sample both of these at 8am!!
We didn't eat in the Abyad restaurant at night as was a buffet and we prefer a la carte. It is 34 euros per adult and 18 euros per child, if you are interested. It did look magnificent!

Bluum Bar - cocktails were delicious as were the cappucinos! A nice bar to sit in at night after dinner and relax.

Reception area is beautiful and spacious. There's an Apple computer with free internet use, a bar with outside terrace and a few reading areas. The reception staff were very efficient and extremely helpful.

We stayed in a resort suite facing the sea - it had a kitchen with dishwasher, coffee machine and hob, 2 bathrooms a huge living area, kingsize bed and a patio with a table to seat 6 and 2 sun loungers. There is a dining area to eat at and 2 flat screen tvs with surround sound. There is a set of digital scales in the bathroom which is useful to weigh cases for your flight.

Praia da Falesia itself is small. It has a square with a large supermarket and about 5-6 restaurants and 5 or 6 shops. This is all within 2 minutes walking distance. The beach is stunning and is only 5 minutes walk in the opposite direction.

We wanted to eat out in different resorts at night and found that the taxi the hotel phones for you is very expensive. They were beautiful cars that came though, but we were paying 50 euros extra a night before we had even eaten anything. I got a local taxi number from the lady in the supermarket - 00351 289583230. One way to Albufeira was 13 euros and one way to Vilamoura was 15 euros. Olhus d'Agua was about 7 euros.

We were lucky enough to be there for the Official Opening where the President and invited guests arrived. There were cocktails and canapes, entertainment and fireworks all night. It is a night I will never forget!! Well done for putting on a marvelous show!

There were 2 children's pools and 3 large pools plus and indoor pool. The pools at the apartments/residences was very quiet all day and you basically had the pool to yourself. The other pools were busier, but plenty of sun loungers left.

This has only been open since the 15th of March and is still quite quiet, but I expect as the year goes on and with word of mouth that the numbers will double next season. I would maybe suggest that more umbrellas round the pool areas may be required as the hotel becomes more popular.

We will definitely be back! Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday so special.

Room Tip: Most hotel rooms face the beach and the ones that didn't seem to be occupied. All resort suites...

I been there with a big group of friends, the hotel is very big and the swimming pool is relay great, is true that you have amazing beach closer to the hotel, but is always good know new ppl in the swimming pool and then go out at night together or to the beach the day after. Service good, price on average, rooms and building very nice!

I have just returned from a 7 night stay at the Epic Sana, in one of their Premium Suites (2 Floors). During our stay the water from the shower cascaded through the ceiling below, via the smoke alarm onto the Kitchen Floor! This was incredibly dangerous, for obvious reasons, one of them being the water's proximity to the electrical outlets. The maintenance manger arrived promptly, telling us that is was a construction issue and there was nothing he could do except organise some clean towels from housekeeping for us, and that we could continue to use this shower! Although this is undoubtedly a stunning hotel, set in a wonderful location with very friendly staff, this Poseidon Adventure completely spoiled the entire experience for me. So Very Disappointing Epic Sana.

I stayed here with my 2 daughter from 27june for 4 nights....The hotel was amazing nice clean and totally new... We arrived 11am and we were welcomed by the hotel staff and they also give you welcome drinks.. this was a nice touch as we had come from over sea and tired and from a cold country to a very hot and pleasant country just what we needed.... The hotel overall is worth it, pools at the hotel were nice and clean. The beaches just walking distance nice weather, the gardens of the hotel open out to the sea, so quiet and peaceful . The rooms were clean and very comfortable. the service was 5star and local shops and restaurants are very near . In all I would stay with them again.....
