We noticed the new Giania restaurant, when we were out on our trip to Albufeira and as a new restaurant, we thought we would give it a go.
The small menu is simple, a few starters and the main dishes include, chicken, lamb, king prawn or veg. curry or the same as biryani dishes. We all started with poppadoms and dips. They came with mango chutney and a spicy chilli dip and do ask for yoghurt dips as well if you wish, they are only too happy to oblige.
For the main course, I chose a chicken curry with veg. pilau and naan bread. My friends had lamb and chicken biryani. When it arrived the main comment was that the dishes were a tad dry with little sauce, but it soon transpired that unlike the regular restaurant curries, these are freshly cooked and not made with a standard base sauce. The flavours were great with a real home made taste. I have never had such a tasty and authentic curry before, in any Indian restaurant. We were all pleasantly surprised. There was a good amount of food and very well priced. We will be going again next time, for sure.
