Just returned from 5 nights all inclusive at the Alpinus. Would be hard to find fault with the hotel . Our apartment was clean spacious and very homely. It was cleaned daily, the staff were very friendly , helpful and polite. Good meal choice at the buffet, the daytime snacks were very good also. Thee area was quiet and ideal for myself and my 12yr old, we found a beach further along from the one the hotel recommends no steps and very private with cheap sun bed hire, and facilities. Overall an excellent experience staying at the alpinus and looking forward to returning . Only thing I would add is to hire a car as the excursions if involving a bus take a long time to get to with all the pick ups. ... Visited slide and splash , brilliant day out for family fun.

Room Tip: Choose an apartment rather than a studio , bedroom is huge ,bed is not comfy though.

Just back from Luna Alpinus after a weeks stay an had a good time.. Nice hotel an the rooms are very spacious an clean and you are provided with clean linen every other day.. You are also provided with TV with few channels and a mini stereo system so you can play your own cds.. The hotel is in a quiet area so not a lot see or do which was a pity as the entertainment was not the greatest so there was little choice but to endure it... I found the hotel was spotless with 2 pool areas an the staff always very friendly an helpful an not rude like other revues said.. All inclusive;; Food;; breakfast was very good but the rest was average and all the food was hot... Drinks;; plastic cups an cues but again plenty of it an you get wat u pay for...all in all not a bad hotel but 2* not 4*,,, cheap a n cheerfull hotel an i would visit again... there is a lovely beach nearby also Falasia beach about 15mins leisurely walk...

Room Tip: I stayed at the front of the hotel overlooking the golf course an main road... The road was very qui...

We stayed in Luna Alpinus fir 5 nights in March. The rooms are large and clean and you are provided with fresh linen every other day. The all inclusive was very disappointing, no choice and poor quality. The staff are rude and not helpful what so ever. The entertainment was absolutely appalling, we actually went out for 2 nights because it was so bad.
There isnt much at all around the hotel, maybe a couple of shops and a couple of bars. We got the bus into the old town which was lovely.
Overall the hotel is definitely nor a 4 star, it is a 2 star. We would definitely stay in portugal again but we would not come back to this hotel.

The hotel is clean and with 2 pools which are always busy we discovered the roof top solarium on floor 5 only a handful of sunbeds but we got one any time of the day easy enough. On arrival we were told we couldn't check in to our room till 4pm (arrived at 1pm) and wasn't given our wrist bands till then. Check out was 11am and they cut your wrist band off so all inclusive ends (we were not getting picked up till 3.05pm)
Only one bar serves food and that is closed in bad weather, even a drizzle of rain where you have to wait for food to be transferred to the other bar (we waited an hour and gave up waiting)
Food is nice but very repetitive always chips pasta rice 1meat dish 1fish dish salad.
Free wifi in the reception area but it is very limited and area specific.
There is a free bus to the old town but this is not advertised so ask at reception.

Went as a short break over Easter as couple of forty something year olds. Read reviews after booking it and was dreading it but hotel was spotless with huge rooms and yes pool was freezing but in April what do you expect. Best meal was breakfast and the rest was average but again you only get what you pay for some people expect 5 star treatment but only want to pay 2 star prices we found hotel staff to be anything but rude but once again if you do nothing but complain you only going to get what you give out . Have stayed in better hotels but also paid twice as much money so went for cheap and didn't expect too much so wasn't disappointed

I travelled here with my 18 year old daughter her 19 year old boyfriend and my 14 year old son, we got a last minute deal for 5 days. We arrived at the hotel at 11.30am check in was quick and easy but we were told we could not have our All Inclusive bands until 12.30pm because that's when lunch would be served, I wasn't to bothered by this even though I thought it was very strange as all of the other AI hotels just give you bands/ cards at checking in.
Rooms were massive 1 bed apartments next door to each other, couldn't fault the rooms but for a 4 star hotel I'd say they were basic. We were on the 4th floor over looking the golf course loads of sun in the afternoon early evening we sat out on the balcony a couple of nights.
The layout of the hotel is strange, it has 2 pools ok sizes 1 doesn't open until 9am this is the pool we used only 1 dissects the Sun all day so as you can imagine it was first come first served on the beds, we went early April and only because I get up early we would of struggled to get 4 beds together. The pool itself was far too cold to use it was like a form of torture, my son normally spends most of his time in the pool when we're away I think the longest he stayed in for was 10 minutes before having to get out. Plus side was watching peoples reactions when they jumped in lots of swearing.
The All Inclusive option at this hotel can only be described as a joke. The restaurant were all meals are served smells like a 1980s school dinner hall, the food on offer was not much better we eat out every night and had pizza from the pool bar every day the kids didn't even bother getting up for breakfast after I'd told them what was on offer, I bought bacon and few other bits to cook in the room. Also you cannot get drinks by the pool until 10am and during lunch 12-2.30pm.
Be prepared to queue for drinks and snacks in the day but at night 1 of your party will be permanently in the queue in the 1 bar the hotel offers so my advice is to stock up on drinks and get there early to get a table indoors or go over the road to the Hollywood sports bar cocktails are cheap and it has free WiFi.
This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, the beach is a good 30 minute walk so with little ones I'd just get a taxi. The bars and restaurants are 15 min walk away, a taxi to the old town cost 10 Euro.
This hotel is not 4 star it's a good 2 star plus it should not offer an All Inclusive option as it struggles to accommodate its guest in out of season God only knows what peak season would be like, the AI is too restricted and not good enough in my opinion it should only offer half board.
This hotel is ok for golfers not for UK families

We really enjoyed our stay. Hotel itself is nice and spotless and the area offers some lovely little places to eat. However, I do agree that staff are quite rude and you WILL have your meal taken off your table by over eager staff if you turn around for a second (no exaggeration!). They sort of just walk up and down like teachers in the dining room looking at everyone's plates! There is no service with a smile. And I am sure the woman severing in the bar muttered something rude to her colleague because a young man dared to ask for a vodka at 2.00 pm (you can only have beer and wine until after 2.30). Shame on him, anyone would thought he was on holiday!
