“Great Hotel”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Ok where do we start...
Staff were very friendly and helpful especially the hotel reception, dining room and cafe staff. The rooms were huge and spotlessly clean, only negative was the balcony door was a pain to lock (107).
The pool areas were kept clean and tidy and at most times there were ample loungers.
There was a huge selection of food to chose from, yes it does get repetitive but then your having 3 cooked meals a day! No-one would go hungry that's for sure, what with drinks on tap and a selection of snacks poolside, staying all-inclusive you can't go wrong.
The entertainment is a bit budget, the team are very friendly and try hard but I think more money needs to be spent on this. The reptile evening was a hit with the kids and the souvenir photos are a must for any family. The courtesy beach bus is good but book early as this gets booked up quickly as the local bus dropped us at a retail park & not the marina we were expecting! Taxis worked out cheaper than the local buses for a family of 4 so bare that it mind if venturing out of the resort (which actually our kids were more than happy to stay on site)!
All in all a very nice family holiday and we would highly recommend Luna Alpinus Portugal!

I have just returned from staying 12 nights in the Luna Alpinus. We actually went 5 nights all inclusive & the others self catering as we were going on trips a few days. Having seen a couple of negative reviews I was concerned before I went that we had chosen the wrong hotel. How wrong I was to doubt! I really cant stress how much we enjoyed the hotel. 2 Bed Apartment was massive with a balcony the size of 2 rooms! Pools were great. Food was great and varied. Free bus in & out of Albufeira & Beach. Free Wifi in reception with soft seating area. If you have booked this hotel & are worried having seen other reviews please don't. Would definitely come back & will recommend to friends & family. Fantastic Hotel.

I went here on holiday and was blown away. The rooms are massive, the food is meh. (There are lovely restruants nearby so don't let that put you off.) The rooms were cleaned nearly everyday and the hotel was positioned in just the right spot. (In a quiet area but not to far from the action!) I strongly recommend but a word of advice: there are two main pools, one out the back beside a bar and a bigger one located around the side of the hotel. It's quite hard to locate the bigger pool if you don't know your way around but if you go into the reception you will see a door on the left saying pool. (This may sound pretty simple but it's really quiet easy to miss.) Go through that and basically just follow the signs saying pool on them.

was very apprehensive after booking to stay here after reading reviews, but had a great time.Apartment was immaculate ,spacious and blissfully quiet .We only had breakfasts which were fine so cant comment on evening meals but used Hugos bar (just around the corner from hotel ) regularly and had some fab local Portuguese food with remarkably cheap wine and beer .Had a fabulously lazy 10 days and were very grateful for the pool temperature after a days sunbathing .small selection of good quality gift shops and eateries nearby and a very good salon with incredible manicures for a very cheap price !! Used safe in room and no problem at all about valuables or phones just took care . All in all after being frightened to death by reviews we had a great time .

Room Tip: room over car park excellent with absolutely no noise disturbance at all

We were in the hotel for 10 days - the 2 bedroom appartment had lots of space and a big outside terrace - good accomodation. We were above the north pool which was noisy at night but quietened from 11. The staff were helpful and we used the shuttle bus to the beach most days. We had a couple of quick lunches in the hotel but genrally ate out - plenty of nice restaurants in the area. The walk to or from Falesia was not long and the square half way en route is nice with a good ice cream stop.

Room Tip: Rooms above the north pool will get the evening entertainment noise

I stayed at this hotel at the end of may with my two children and my sister and her two
Children, we had an overall good time here and the hotel runs a free bus into the old town
beach and lots of shops, bars and sight seeing to do.
The hotel is modern, clean and welcoming, staff are friendly, the rooms are nice
And spacious and come with kitchen facilities, their are two pools, the sun loungers
Get taken up quite early and they are a bit grotty looking, the only downside of our trip
Was we had two items of clothing and shoes taken out of our room one day, which had
to be one of the cleaners, when we reported it to the reception staff they took the side
Of the cleaner and didn't do anything about it, which was a strange approach, no apologies, just
Said the cleaner who cleaned our room was the oldest in the hotel, so not sure if we trust
The cleaners in the room.
We did self catering and didn't eat at the hotel but you have an option to pay for
Meals and snacks etc.

We stayed here for 10 nights in June there were 8 of us. We were all in the same mind the apartments were lovely and big, the pools were good and the staff were brilliant. The food was very mediocre breakfast was the best but the other 2 meals were only ok there was not much choice at all fish or meat and it was the same quite a lot during our stay. A lot of other guests also said the same.
