“One of the best holidays ever had!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2013

Just got back from a 10 day stay. First time in Portugal. First time in this apartment. Very impressed with the friendly and caring staff. Went out of their way to make us feel special and welcome. They even bought a beautiful birthday gift for one of the lovely girls we made friends with!!! Not many places would do that!!! OK the other reviews have mentioned a few problems- like the leaky shower doors. Be prepared to mop the bathroom floor. But in my opinion this is a small inconvenience, far outweighed by the excellent standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel. For the price I think this is a gem of a place. If you want 5 star look elsewhere-if you want friendly clean basic accommodation this is your place!! Found the sofa beds in our studio spotless and comfy. Well equipped kitchen area-although didn't do anything other than basics!!Our studio overlooked the pool. Lovely amazingly peaceful area when we were there-but as is the case on every holiday, your stay is influenced by the consideration or lack of by your fellow guests!! .Marco in the bar area was lovely. Would have liked him to sell ice-cream though! We found the noise in the apartment not too much of a problem. You have to expect a few scraping chairs on tiled floors, but not a great problem while we were there, my tip is to use wax earplugs from boots!! Never travel without them!! Salvatori on reception is amazing!! Took time with each guest to give a very useful map and explain local amenities. Perfect-didn't try to push or sell anything but happy to recommend if asked. Cooked a mean bbq while we were there!!Found the location great. About 5 minute walk to strip and 20 minutes to old town. We got taxi back up from old town cost about 4-5 euros.

We booked this holiday about 3 weeks before hand through easy jet holidays and paid about £230 for the accommodation (for 1 week), which was a 1 bed apartment between 2 of us. The reception of the apartment block is very nice, I think it must have just been refurbished. We arrived before the check in time, but the guy on reception was very helpful and took our details regardless and said we could wait in the pool area till check in time (3pm). He also gave us a map of the area which would have been useful had I not lost it soon after! We were given a free welcome drink by Marco the barman which was nice. When 3pm arrived we went back to the reception to get our keys and was told by a different man on reception (Salvatore - I think) that unfortunately the people in the apartment before us had broken the toilet(!) and they hadn't got it fixed in time so they were waiting for a plumber to come. He was very apologetic. We didn't mind this so much as he said it shouldn't be too long so went back to the pool area for a few more drinks. After about 25 minutes a lady came and said we could get into our apartment but the plumbing still wasn't fixed in the toilet but she didn't want us waiting around all day, so she‘d let us in the apartment to unpack. The staff members seemed friendly and helpful. Whilst we were unpacking the plumber came to diagnose the problem and the lady went to buy the parts. We went out soon after and when we came back it was all fixed. We didn't have any problems with the apartment all week after that apart from a blown bulb which was replaced straight away but that's neither here nor there. The one bedroom apartment we booked was huge! The apartment was very well equipt and in a quiet location, with the windows overlooking the pool. The windows had shutters on which we kept closed all day when we were out so that it was cool when we got back and didn’t have to put the air conditioning on. The kitchen had everything you would every need & more! There was more than enough cutlery and crockery for the four people it was supposed to accommodate (there was only two of us). The was a large dining table and 4 chairs. There was a small amount of dust on some of the surfaces but the rest of the apartment was clean. The bedroom contained two single beds and there was plenty drawers and cupboard space in the but the drawers did smell a little musty when first opened, but they didn’t make your clothes smell. The bathroom had a bath with shower overhead. The shower had a good powerful stream of water but the hot water seemed to run out quite quickly. There were towels provided, which smelled fresh and clean. The towels were changed once during the week and the ones they replaced them with were a little worn & stained but still smelled fresh & clean. The living area contained two sofa beds, a coffee table & a small t.v. We didn’t put the t.v on at all so can’t comment on what channels there were. The maids came in every morning except Sunday and made the beds and had a little clean. The balcony was overlooking a garden and had tables and chairs. We had breakfast on the balcony most mornings. The apartment was about a 10 minute walk from the strip and a 25 minute walk into the old town. There was a supermarket pretty much next door which stocked everything you needed. We got a good nights sleep most nights but there were one or two nights we were woken by people coming back at about 3am. I think you could just hear people going up the stairs as once they’d got into there apartments I fell asleep again straight away so they must have quietened down, although one night it sounded like someone was moving furniture about upstairs at 4am! The pool area & bar area is very nice, with plenty of sunloungers, tables & chairs. There is also a pool table, which we used. The pool isn’t huge but its more than adequate and the water isn’t freezing which is a bonus! There were a few leaves and flies floating in the pool but its an outdoor pool so you can’t expect anything else. I did see some men cleaning the pool area and skimming the water most mornings though. If you go the worms roundabout and turn right and follow the road towards the watches roundabout you can find some restaurants and shops. There is an excursions place called “Ticket Shop” along that road which we booked 3 excursions from which we enjoyed. They were also cheaper than anyone else. You can also catch the tourist train a bit further up the road about opposite McDonalds. I really liked staying at these apartments and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if we went back to Portugal, I’ve already recommended them to my dad who’s looking to go to Portugal with his friends in the near future, and I’d recommend them to anyone who was visiting Albufeira.

This was simply the best customer service that we've ever received in a hotel, the management made us feel so welcome and part of their family, We didn't arrive till after 1am but the owner was waiting to welcome us. Nothing was too much effort for him or his family. Bargain price great customer service my fiancée and I will be visiting again, or as he called me Caeser Milan!!!

Just got back from a week stay here, its lovely and the staff are so friendly and helpfull, We arrived before check in time and they made sure the rooms were made up as soon as they possibly could. We also got a nice cocktail on arrival which was a lovely supprise. This hotel is not to far away from anything you can walk everywhere or if its a hot day you can get the tourist bus or the train. Me and my sister had a lovely time here the apartments have everything they need for them to be usefull. My sister suffered from a bit of sunstroke and the manager seemed very caring and just wanted to help. Such a lovely holiday and we were well looked after by the staff who made our stay very welcoming. all in all i would deffinately stay here again and its not exactly expensive. Lovely hotel and a great holiday!!!!

Room Tip: Try and get a room viewing the pool as the rooms on the opposite side dont really have a fantastic v...

Pun not intended as we found it hard to find, it is just by the worms roundabout and we phoned and got instructions the rest of the 30 yards way behind the Pingo Doce Supermarket.

Friendly, helpful staff in every way, they really go out their way to help and ensure you have a good stay.

The furniture is quirky, clean and fit for purpose. You need to rent the remote for the air conditioning 10 euro, our room didn't need it though as it was well shaded.

We will use again.

Room Tip: we stayed in the one bedroom apartment with two single beds in the room and two in the living room/k...

Stayed here last summer after checking with travel agent and review sites that it was a quiet place. Did read that there was no-one onsite at night to let you in, but this didn't concern us as we arriving in the day. However, was a bit dopey and didn't think about what would happen if there was noise at night as we were confident it was a quiet place. We must have been very unlucky when we stayed as we were kept awake everynight but two by our fellow guests. And, as mentioned by other reviewers. there is no one onsite to take control at night. We did mention the noise to Salvatore on a couple of occassions, but the clientele changed frequently and despite Salvatore apparently taking the matter up with guests there was noise from around 1am until the early hours (from different guests, as one lot stopped another lot started). One morning, due to the location of our room, we couldn't help but overhear a conversation outside from some female tenants who were seeing some young men off in a taxi who they had been 'entertaining'. It was very obvious they were some blokes they had picked up in bar that night, which is fine if that is what you want to do on your holiday but I did wonder what would have happened if things had turned sour.

Yes the staff are friendly and the place is good value for money, and whilst we could have coped with a couple of rowdy nights, the lack of sleep (and the worry if we would have yet another disturbed night) spoiled this hotel for us. We are infrequent travellers but are getting abit more savvy at choosing holidays, and think perhaps we need to save a little bit longer and go a little bit more upmarket.

Obvioulsy you get what you pay for and I can't fault this place on anything other than the noise, but if night time noise and safety is an issue for you I think the reviews are misleading and you may wish to look again. Otherwise this a great value place to stay and maybe better at less busy times of the year.

Stayed here in Sept 2012.
We arrived a few days late to our holiday due to a death in the family. Our tour operator failed to inform the hotel but luckily the hotel had kept the room.
We arrived in the middle of the night and the hotel was closed, obviously because of the mix up they weren't expecting us. We rang the number and the owner of the hotel was there within a few mins, was so nice to us. The following morning he took the time to explain to us everything about the island, gave us a map, told us where to eat and everything. Have to say his level of service was beyond excellent! *5 by anyones standards!
The hotel itself location wise is five mins walk to the stip (aviod that area if you ask me) and about twenty mins walk from old town, but to be honest we really enjoyed the walk in and out every night. But there is a supermarket just beside it and fat cats is just across the road which is great for food.
Although the rooms maybe are a bit dated and basic, they were spotless and had everything you need! The pool is lovely and quiet. There is a bar and all the staff are so friendly! A very relaxing location and it was very quiet and peaceful when we stayed.
Will definatly be back some day and I would suggest this hotel to anyone going to the area.
