Fabulous apartments, excellent swimming pools which are clean and safe. Clube albufeira is quite hilly but lovely pretty walks which are clean. Excellent shuttle bus service to and from the town which is free! Taxis are not expensive. Reception can arrange your trips etc for example to swim with the dolphins which is an absolute must and really worth the money! We have been twice in 2006 and 2007 and would go again and again. Perfect for young families and couples who like to relax, wouldnt take older teens unless they like doing nothing as they may get bored. We went as a family in 2006 (5 of us) then we went with friends and organised two apartments next door to each other, and they loved it. Apartment owners are friendly and will arrange collections to and from the airport for around 100 euros. I believe they have added another resturant, they were building it when we were last there, but we were not put off by builders etc. Great place, worth every penny!

The staff is wonderful and the rooms are nice, although a bit dated. Make sure they don't give you one that fronts on the highway. We were there during off-season and didn't expect the pools to be heated, but the jacuzzi was cold as well! The Club is not close to anything and many of the units are quite difficult to find (especially if you arrive after dark). Plenty of space for children to roam. We had a good time but would not stay there again.

We went with our two young children (aged 2 and 3) first week of October and stayed in apartment 369. Lovely white decor. Clean and ample room for what we needed. Was met by an English agent who made our settling in pleasnat and gave us useful info to get us started.. The complex has been built in two phases and this is in the newer phase. There is a supermarket and a couple of restaurats on site. We had 3 pools outside our aprtment 1 heated, 1 cold water and a paddling pool, there was also a play area next to it too. We did visit two other pools that were slightly different, one was deeper and one had an outside pool bar area while both had paddling pools. Hardly needed to leave the complex apart from a bit of shopping. It is a bit out of the main town and were reliant on the buses (every half hour). While there (Oct 09) they were resurfacing some of the roads and walking into Albufeira wasn't an option but I hear it when it is completed walking all the way will be an option.

the apartment we stayed in was clean but both bathrooms and the twin bedroom had bad ant problems and the sofa bed was broken.there was no kettle, just a small filter coffee maker.it was also at the top of 2 very steep hills so people with mobility issues or other health problems would find it highly unsuitable.there are 4 pools on the site but they are a very long way apart and believe me the big pool the brochure shows is not the one you will be using and while the pool was clean and checked often older people were spoiling it it for the young ones by diving and bombing(which was not permitted)and on the 2nd to last day of our stay my daughters(aged 12 and 13) went to the pool only to find 2 young couples totally naked in it!! the site shop is a wooden hut and is very basic and expensive and the nearest supermaket is a 30 minute walk away along a duel carriageway with no footpaths.the free shuttle bus that should run 4 times a day only ran twice a day and didn't run at all on 3 days.fortunately there is a bus service that takes you into old town every half hour and is 1.10 euros per person.taxi fares vary greatly we paid 3.25 upto 6.15. the reception staff are rude, obnoxious and extremely unhelpful.if you want to book a day at the slide and splash water park, zoo marine or any other excursion try to book them at the ticket offices in old town as they are much cheaper than doing it through the reception.the only good thing we found at this place were the maids who came in to sweep and mop the floors daily and change the towels and bed linen every 3 or 4 days. if you want to stay in this area i highly recommend the solcosta apartments, friendly staff, clean ant free apartments and a courtesey bus driver who can't do enough for you.

stayed at clube albufeira for 10 days with family it's like a small village with 4 pools each pool side bar had different prices we used the one with the bar inside the pool had an evening meal there and it was lovely and also reasonable. they are very strict as far as the pool is concerned no inflatables allowed only rubber rings and arm bands depending which life guard was on no inflatable balls which does restrict the kids. evening entertainment was in portugese but ok. old town is bril but getting there is taxi at 4 or 5 euros each way over 10 days it was quite a lot but had to be done to go out it is 6 or 7 euro to go to the strip and it is very busy with lots of bars and eating places most of them cater for children, all in all i think portugal is a great place to holiday loads of things to do beautiful beaches friendly people and great weather what more can you ask for

Just arrived back from Clube Albuferia, we all had a very enjoyable time. We rented our apartment through Holiday Lettings. Our apartment was situated at the back of the complex which is quiet and out of the way, although you do have to climb a rather large hill to get to it. We generally got Taxis on the way home so they were able to drop us off at the door. Outide of our apartment was a small play area and beyond that there was a pool with snack bar. Everything we needed on our doorstep, in the evening you can goto Casa Azul restaurant staff very friendly and the food is good. We generally went into the old Town which has cobbled streets and lots of bars, etc. The strip can get very lively so better to go into main town early rather than later. This was ideal for us as we prefer to be out of the way in somewhere quiet with the option of going into town. We did find it hard to get Taxis some evenings and with roadworks at the moment journey into town could be quite slow. We found the complex had lots to offer with the option of going to other pools which all had bars/restaurants next to them. We would definitely consider going back to Clube Albuferia again.
