“Good hotel but outside the town of Albufeira”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014

WE stayed 4 nights at this hotel as part of a packaged walking holiday. We therefore did not use all of the amenities but found the 'apartments' very comfortable. Breakfasts were good. The weather was mixed and it appeared that there were one or two maintenance issues with leaks etc in some of the outside passageways. Did not use the dining facilities. 2/3 miles from the town of Albufeira so transport very necessary.

Room Tip: We were happy with out room overlooking the pool although the hotel only had a few early season gues...

Got a cheap 4 night deal via travel zoo & fleetway travel. Was meant to stay at different hotel nearer to Albufeira but a week to go was told this is no longer possible and ended up here. The location is out of the way. We used the shuttle bus a lot. The apartment was clean and spacious. Wi fi is available in bar and reception area and it's ok in the poolside snack bar although a little slower. We ate at the sister hotel a few times.

The weather was terrible and we had to spend more time at the hotel than we would normally. This highlighted its shortcomings. The main issue was the buffet style meals. We are not fussy but there are 2 choices of main course and no veggie option. The food was cold and there were signs to say the food is heated to European standards & if we wanted it hotter then we could ask to have it microwaved. I seriously doubt that even European standards allow for cold food. We tried eating earlier and later but it made no difference temperature wise. The food was kept "warm" in dishes suspended above hot water.

The pool bar opened whilst we were there with burgers etc. however thus meant that the reception bar was closed until 6 pm when the pool bar closed. There's no access to tea and coffee unless you go to the pool bar between 10am -6 pm or after 6 in the main bar. There's tea/coffee facilities in your room but you need to take the shuttle bus to buy your tea/coffee and milk.

Local wine and alcohol are included in the all inclusive deal but not cocktails. You are allowed 2 drinks per person. We ordered vodka & coke and a coffee liqueur to make Black Russians. All inclusive ends at 12 noon on departure day.

All in all it wasn't a great holiday. Partly because of the weather but also due to cold food with limited choices and the location of the hotel which is near any local shops and facilities

Was booked I here recently but I only stayed a couple of hours. The weather was terrible and so going to stuck in a room for a couple of days was more than I could take. Its in the middle of nowhere you'd want to be particularly. I think the staff are used to people asking about restaurants nearby etc as she bolted out that 'there is nothing here' midway through my question which was funny, she wasn't being rude, just knew what was coming. I wouldn't personally risk eating there but maybe its okay...!?! Can't comment. The same receptionist didn't seem too surprised when we said we were leaving and not to worry if she didn't see us again. We weren't to be reported as lost in action. Maybe we weren't the first.
I did go to the room and its probably about 3 star at most. The beds looked tiny. I cant say whether they were comfortable or not as I didn't even sit on them. The apartment looked adequately clean but did have a bit of a smell. Not terrible but definitely not fresh. We had a coffee in lobby which was ok but I wont be going back. I thought I would manage it for a night or two but couldn't. Left and booked into the Hilton. Different planet. Stayed there for the rest of the holiday.

arrived back home monday 31st after a 2wk stay self catering at the hotel. All staff were very helpful & friendly, rooms are clean, spacious & well equipped with large balcony & seating area. Views from most balconys are lovely and we spent many evenings watching the sun go down over a glass of wine. We did also dine in the restaurant one evening & the food was wonderfull, service from Marco the head waiter was exellent. Location of hotel is rurual so a hire car is recommended & this was our 3rd time staying here & shall be looking forward to returning there in the near future.

We left the hotel this morning after a long weekend and we can honestly say we could not fault a thing. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We went all inclusive, food and drink was great (especially the sangria!), the service was excellent, could not fault them one bit. The apartment was superb and we had one of the two biggest balconies in the whole of the hotel. The shuttle bus into the town was on time and the driver even suggested a more suitable place to shop after we explained what we were going into town for. Taxis are only 6/7 euros into town anyhow. The games room was great when it was slightly chilly outside and has mini golf and tennis courts outside for when it was warmer . The hotel even has a pianist who was very friendly and brilliant at playing. I honestly could not fault this hotel what so ever! we can not wait to go back.

Room Tip: Room 228- Huge balcony which tends to have the sun on it for the best part of the day.

Hi everyone as an ex-pat living here all Winter its Nice to take advantage of the very low prices here in the Algarve.
This is the first time i have stopped in this hotel the only negative comments that are justified about this hotel are that it is a fair way to the Beach and the actual town of Albufeira.
The comments about the Food are ludicrous here you have a lovely restuarant on the 5th floor overlooking the coast or the pool Your Choice !Tables laid With proper tableclothes spotlessy clean great service from every direction.Stayed here last week With Our friends There were a lot of Spanish People there over the weekend So what !!!!!!! We mingled and shook hands whats the problem.Beautiful outdoor pool too Cold for us but some People actually went in Medals on the way one more month and i will give it ago.
We had a one bedroom appartment on same floor as reception massive compared to most of the Algarve.Fitted Kitchen With everything you need inc full oven hob built in microwave.Unfortunately the bbc channels have gone due to the switch off over here and spot beam to uk.But you have piped Music in all rooms two sofas in the open plan loungeWe paid £46 a night per couple AI With travel Republic believe me that was the real deal !!I I see its has gone up now nevermind Next year !Take Your kids or Your spouse you wont og wrong here just remeber the distance to town and Beach i had my car With me but there is a free Shuttle bus.
Anymore questions pm spreking@hotmail.com
P.S. all inclusive doesnt stop until 11pm most Places stop at 10 pm

Hi there we stayed at the hotel 22nd October - 29th so have just got back. We were a bit aprehensive about the hotel after reading the reviews, but for a cheap off season deal we couldnt say no!
The hotel is about 35 minutes away from the airport we took a taxi which roughly cost us 40euros. When we arrived at the hotel we were delighted, the check in was quick and easy. We were given our room keys straight away with a welcome pack that included all the information we needed, including shuttle times etc.
The rooms were fantastic, I dont think the photos on the website did them justice, very spacious with everything needed to self cater. Large balconys with a view of the pool. TV with at least 4 english channels.
And a bathroom with a bathtub!!
The rooms were clean and the maid came in daily to maintain it, replacing our towels and making the bed daily.
The facilities at the hotel are really good, there is a large outdoor pool as well as small childrens pool and outdoor jacuzzi. inside there is an indoor pool. jacuzzi and steam room.
THe staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful.
The shuttle is free and goes to 4 different locations mon-fri 4 times a day - most useful.
The only negatives about the hotel, the food was expensive 17.50 euros for the buffet style dinner which was limited (however we did go off season) drinks were expensive also.
The hotel is out of the way of anything, expect to get a taxi ride in the evening and on weekends but make the most of the shuttle!
Finally if you are going to stay at this hotel I reccomend you visit the 'marina vilamora' and the 'slide and splash' water park (best in europe)
hope the review is helpful to people i would deffinately stay at this hotel again good 4star hotel
