Just returned from two weeks at Stella Maris with our teenage son what a great place !
Lets start with the good points:
Fantastic aparthotel we had a two bedroom apartment when we checked in guy on reception said "You have very large room" he wasnt wrong ! Our son had in his words his own apartment ! loads of wardrobe space, own ensuite he loved it!
Large kitchen with everything you could want, the living/dinning area also large enough for all of us.The balcony overlooked the main road was also very large but had no traffic noise as a very quiet area.
Staff were very friendly & always plenty of them around & willing to help with any enquiries.
Hotel was spotless as were rooms cleaned every day inc beds made & towels replaced when required.
Pool area was great our son loved this & as he met up with a couple of teenagers from Ireland had a great time, but we seemed to have leaned from our German friends about towels on sun loungers somedays when we arrived at the pool we struggled to find a space! Still when in Rome !!
Gym just up the road was free & quite good for a workout i used it 4 times but not air conditioned so take a towel.Local square a couple of minutes walk usual bars etc.
We ate at the Chinese on our first night really friendly young lady great food & service we didnt eat there again until near the end of our holiday & the young lady rememberd us !
We also used Frango Real in fact 4 times ! would higly recomend as staff/service/food great,Flo Mar must have most miserable staff in the resort ! Neptunes bar was a favourite haunt but little bit pricey.
Caught a cab into Albufirea on a saturday night never been pesterd so much to go into Restaurants in my life ! really busy place & some good deals/prices but we prefer smaller local places to eat, found a great little restaurant if you go to taxi rank & up the hill at the end of the rank on the right hand side, little local place all cooked to order great food/service from Olivera !
Zoomarine good for a day out Dolphin show great booked through Reps in Hotel but you can probably get it cheaper also booked Aqualand through Hotel again great day out but take your own food as very pricey chips 3.50 euros per portion ! Also all the pools you end up in very salty wonder why ??
Also took a trip to Vilamoura lovely place lots of nice yachts, cars, some great Restaurants by Marina but pricey so would advise to look at sidestreets just away a little
from the front to eat.Taxi fares a bit steep to both places but courtesy bus from hotel to Albufiera good but only takes 7 so book early.
So now to the bad points !
Couldnt find any really resort is quiet but that suits us as we dont like rowdy places but maybe just a little more life for the younger people, hotel we couldnt fault throughly enjoyed our stay would have no problem using again or recomending to anyone.
