The last review 'Maxwell' just about said everything we would (apart from the room issue) Great staff, friendly and attentive. Good food, clean well maintained. ALL staff where uniform and look smart.
Our room was also a side'sea view' but with the benefit that you had a balcony bathed in sun well into the evening. Anyway why pay for a sea view when you can sit on the beach, terrace or garden and see it just as well?
Pool area was quiet and garden area peacefull. Always plenty of sun loungers and we loved the decking areas for sitting and getting some shade.
We ate here most lunchtimes and food was good with reasonable pricing. Beer is expensive. We also ate Italian here one night and it was excellent with live music and great service. I hope the Manager passes on our thanks to his staff for a lovely holiday.

The area of Olhos d'Agua was very built up but by the beach was great with plenty of places to eat and have a drink or ice cream. Fratelli Italian was one of the best I have ever been in with a very friendly owner. For Portugese food you would struggle to beat Ambrosia & Nectar.
We are a couple who are older and did enjoy the more peaceful level of this town. Not one for the 20's - 30's who want a high octane holiday destination!

Room Tip: Ask for floors 4 or 5 for best views

Just returned from a week's break at the above on a B&B basis, overall the hotel is excellent, fantastic location with stunning views over the cliffs to the beach. Hotel is extremely clean, breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and plenty of everything. Pool area very nice, plenty of sunbeds at all times of the day with no "reserving" going on. We ate in the pool bar / restaurant on a couple of occasions and found the food to be very good, the staff were attentive and friendly. As previous reviews have mentioned, we paid for a full sea view and got a car park / strip of sea view. On complaining to reception was told that we could see the sea hence the room was a sea view!! This was not acceptable and we asked to be moved to a full sea view room, after some debate, we were offered another room (with a full sea view)which we accepted. We came to the conclusion that the "best" rooms seemed to be occupied by other foreign tour operators not the UK! We also had the same problem as a previous reviewer in that there is no courtesy room available and were offered a room to use for 3 hours at a cost of 90 Euros!!!!

We found the resort of Olhos d'Agua to be a mixture of residential areas with the odd restaurant / bar dotted between. Although we had no compalints about food etc (recommend the Chinese on the Albufeira road), the resort could do with a good clean up and a face lift. If you like late night entertainment, be it music, late dining etc then this is not the resort for you and you will need to get a cab into Albufeira.

Our age group is mid 40's.

Room Tip: Get what you paid for (full sea view room)

Thank you very much for your review. We don't have any predominant nationality in the hotel, neither any choice of best rooms, a bit unfair your conclusion, but it seems it ended well and you got a room with good view. Looking forward to welcome you back at the Porto Bay Falésia. Best regards, Fernando Reis Filipe

This is a superb hotel situated in a great location above one of the Algarve's longest sandy beaches. We had a lovely holiday here with friends, and found it, and the area around it, ideal for an early season break. The hotel is well equipped to provide all you need for a relaxing holiday. In the lnearbyrestaurants enjoy some of the local foods such as "Steak on a Stone" (steak that you cook for yourself on a granite block) or the Espatarda (a steak kebab). Don't miss the huge array of foods offered for breakfast in the hotel either.

Room Tip: Try to get a seaview room on a high floor

This was our second stay at this hotel and it didn't disappoint .We felt quite spoiled when we arrived ,as this was a repeat stay we belonged to the "Prestige Club" and received water , fruit and dressing gowns in the room also a free welcome drink in the bar which we took during the week, and an invite to the managers cocktail party where we had nibbles and drinks plus 10% off food and drinks..Everything was as good as ever , lovely breakfast with a good choice, very clean everywhere ,our cleaner in our room was lovely and folded the towels into swans. We went bed and breakfast this visit (did half board last time and really enjoyed the food)as we wanted to sample the lovely restaurants in the village which we really enjoyed.Would like to go back to this hotel another year as it ticks all our boxes for a lovely relaxing holiday

Having previouisly stayed at the Porto Santa Maria on Madiera we knew the standards would be high and this hotel did not disappoint from the room with a seaview(worth paying the little extra for) to the food to the facilities all were excellent. Needless to say we will be back

Everything about this hotel is good, sea view is amazing but costs front view is fine if you want to save money for other things. beaches are outstanding and not far to walk, local bars and restaurants are good especially Tavertinos and Golfino, it is not too expensive to eat and drink here or even in posh vilamoura and the portions at Tavertinos have to be seen to be believed. dont book trips with thomas cook as the local companies are half the price and its exactly the same trip.

Room Tip: look out for local wildlife in the hotel garden

Having read previous reviews this hotel seems like the perfect place to go to, to give us easy access to both Vilamoura and Albufeira and to be placed in a good local spot. The staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly and spoke very good english.
Some people mentioned the fact that there is no free wi fi or safe access but neither of these things are really needed in this place. We paid to get a side sea view and it is worth it as otherwise you would be looking out across to the nearby hotel. The breakfast was a good buffet each day and bubbly if you wanted it for no extra cost.
Access to the beach was down about 134 steps which were not really steep but could be a problem to some. The drinks at the hotel are a little more expensive than in local pubs so take advantge of happy hour from 5-6pm. Worth a visit to the local village and if you are a fan of cocktails you must go to 'Friends Bar' which is just down a road from the post office.
Bus transport is very good and you can get timetable from trip adviser website or at the hotel reception and these will get you around in good time, but if you go to Albufeira from the hotel on bus get off at the stop before the bus station (near McDonalds) as the bus station is a 5/10 minute walk from the centre.
