Good views, well connected but will need a taxi from the airport.
Sea views are fantastic. Lovely beach.
Both outdoor and indoor pools
Great food, go for the half board option, changes daily, wide choice.

Stayed November 2013, travelled with family

What a wonderful place to stay in the algarve. You better book a room with seaside, because the vieuw is spectacular. The staff is extremely friendly, the food delicious. There are stairs going down the beach. But a stay in the garden with lounge beds is also heavenly,
There are plenty sunbeds near the pool and ( very happy) no early morning towels on the beds.
We would love to come back.
We were there for a golfing holiday, but hardly any golfer in our hotel. You need a car to go to the golfcourses.

We had a junior suite which was lovely and we thought was worth the extra money. Free wifi and free safe is included and a lovely sea view. The weather was fine for the first 11 days but then a bit wet and cold for the last 3 day. We stayed half board which suited us as we didn't want to go out at night looking for somewhere to eat. However, the food was not as good as expected. The food was plentiful and varied but it did lack taste. All staff with the exception of one were excellent, they were always polite and helpful. The only one I had a problem with was the older waiter in the restaurant who was very sullen and unnecessarily abrupt and demanded to see our room card every day for the entire 2 weeks as though he didn't trust us, and yet in the bar and lunch restaurant they were happy to take our word when they asked our room number. The drinks were priced about right for a 4 star. The spa was very good and not overpriced. The indoor pool seemed a lot colder than the 28 degrees that they said it was. We stayed out of season in November and it was nice and quiet but dont think it would be to our liking in season, I probably would not go back as there was not a great deal to do locally. The staff at the lunch bar were really good as were the reception staff.

We stayed at the Porto Bay for a week in September with my brother and sister-in-law. Could not fault this hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was of a very high standard and delicious. The staff were friendly. The hotel was very clean throughout. There were plenty of sun loungers and some lovely bean bags slightly away from the pool area and overlooking the beach. The beach is down approx 120 steps. There are plenty of bars and excellent restaurants within a few minutes walk but the area is still reasonably quiet. Would thoroughly recommend.

My wife and I spent 11 nights at this hotel in early November partly because of our very enjoyable stay at the Porto Mar in Madeira last year. This proved to be a good decision as our stay was even more enjoyable than last years. From checking in to checking out, from reception to cleaners to dining room to poolside without exception staff were always welcoming, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts and evening meals were excellent value for money with plenty of choice and the temptation to eat more than is good for the body was difficult to resist. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The general atmosphere was relaxing with the hotel being small enough to feel intimate but big enough not to feel too crowded.Whilst some of the nearby areas are not too appealing the hotel feels like an oasis. We were assisted by reception to hire a car.A few minutes drive is all it takes to get into the countryside and experience the feeling of peace and quiet and going back in time. The views from the hotel garden and pool over the cliffs are quite stunning with beaches only a few minutes walk away.Musical entertainment each evening was varied and not so loud that it intruded to every part of the building. The only thing we would ask to make our stay better would be if all food dishes, not just some were clearly marked to enable vegetarians know which contained meat and which were meat free.We are recommending the hotel to friends and look forward to returning

SEPTEMBER 22nd 2013 [11 nights] Great hotel very clean, good staff from front of house to the cleaners.Every one very helpful. The food was of a high standard in the buffet hall,if a little expensive. We went B+B so only ate in hotel a couple of nights. €22 each for the buffet but if you have booked H.B. the evening meal worked out at €11 with THOMSON--big difference.cheapest bottle of wine €16. Poolside which was very relaxing [ 1 ham baguette+crisps 2 beers] €16. Happy hour was 5 till 6.[got busy] The cabaret was a bit hit and miss, but if like us you encounter some bad weather you have no choice but to stay in and watch it.
Long walk down to beach, even longer back UP the hill, the beach was very good .If not very good on you legs I would suggest booking H.B.
Not a lot to do at "olhos d;agua" and we found most of the restaurants untidy and messy, and very abrupt waiters.
This was our first time in portugal {normaly in greece] but thought we would give it a go,maybe we were at the wrong part, so would go somewhere different if we ever returned.

We stayed here in August 2013, we booked on line whilst in Portugal due to being disappointed with our previous hotel. This is quite a large hotel with great rooms, beautiful pools and grounds. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was awesome. We met some lovely people later in the bar and the entertainment was such a surprise and thoroughly enjoyed our night. The casino was a nice surprise just next door and well worth a visit. Maybe not quite sold on the location a bit spread out and the beach not so big but none the less had a great stay.

Room Tip: Probably better asking for a pool view, quite a lot of rooms look out over the car park.
