Lovely hotel, relaxed, helpful staff, nice pool, we went with 2 kids 9 and 6, all had a great time. Food was good, drinks included were nice. Resort was good also lots of nice cheap bars and cafes Would recomend booking in the spa for a treat, lovely. Beach is really nice, about 2 min walk away.

Just returned from a weeks holiday. First impression...'Oh no'. We are used to large complex All Inclusive Hotels and this is fairly small and looked cramped when we first looked out of the reception lobby. However once we got nto the swing of it we had a great time.

They provide towels, pool towels, basic tolietries, hairdrier, safety deposit box for a small fee. There is a mini fridge and air conditioning. The rooms a spacious and clean.

The Hotel is small so our two teenagers had no where to wander, but it's close to beach and a lovely tourist town which comes alive at night with little stalls, music etc. and you don't get hassled. There are some amazing ice cream shops and a fantastic cocktail bar on the beach (turn right immediately after first ice cream shop) Al Rocha I think it was called, me and my daughter also had a delicious meal there before sipping cocktails sitting on beanbags on the beach, definitley recommended.

The Pool is cold, but it's fresh water and lovely to cool down in the heat (which by the way was perfect), I don't do baking hot and this was ideal for me, was able to shade when it was too hot, but the lovely sea breeze made it heavenly.

Always plenty of sunbeds. Food and drink was OK, nothing special but it served us fine. We also had delicious beef a couple of times. (previous review sid no red meat??) The Restaurant is clean and never felt too busy, which they often do at AI. Worth doing Al a Carte for a change (again nothing special), but you need to book in advance.

We went on a fishing trip, which included beach BBQ and a quick caves trip, expensive but worth it for a lovely day out (we booked at the little office in the town, cheaper than Thomas Cook).

The entertainment was a bit cheesy, but we found it OK. My son enjoyed the water polo. The only complaint I would have is that they play loud music by the pool just about all day, this particularly irritated me the first few days when had a bad headache, but seemed to get used to it as the week went on. There are a lot of young kids, but didn't bother us, as for previous reports of being badly behaved...well that's not the hotel's fault, you can get badly behaved kids anywhere you go!

Staff very helpful and all round I would recommend it, especially if you just want a week of relaxation. Apparently this is the first year they've done all inclusive so I don't think they've done badly. If you've already booked, don't worry at all. If you haven't then depends what sort of holiday you're after! :)

Room Tip: Pool view otherwise you over look carpark or road

It is a great pleasure to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and let us express our gratitude by thanking you for sharing your positive thoughts about the friendly and efficient staff, room and cleanliness.

Regarding the entertainment, we have taken in consideration your review (and from other guests) by adding 3 new shows this summer, as also, changed the musicians. Despite our efforts with better feedback, we are already working to improve even more in 2014 season.

The same about food. We don´t want to be the same as other All-Inclusives. It is possible not to be to much repetitive, and because of that, we add one more main course in 2013, as also 4 themed nights (2 BBQ: One with 6 variety of meats and 2 fish and other with 6 variety of fish and two meats; Paellas evening and Algarve Cataplana and seafood). We have also added new pastas and pizzas in the buffet at lunches and a sauce station in both meals. The feedback is better this year, but we have already new goals for 2014. Hope you can see the improvements personally!

Made to feel very welcome. Can't fault the cleanliness. Pool bar fab. Agree with food comments, it's very same ish and odd combinations. Couldn't stomach much more than a week. Not good for kids. Most people's kids lived off bread and chips for a week!!!
Very relaxed feel around pool. Very family friendly. If your a young group looking for lively hol don't come here. Evening entertainment naff too. All inclusive bar shuts at 11. Not meaning to be negative as had a nice time. Just a few friendly bits of advice if looking to book. Pool staff amazing! Fabio is brill with kids. We came in large family group so was fine but a couple may be bored.

We have just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel and were a little disappointed. This was our 4th AI holiday and certainly the weakest. The hotel was very nice, rooms cleaned well, linen changed regularly and a large room well suited to three of us. The food in the restaurant at night was disappointing, very repetive and varied in quality although never poor. Evening entartinment varied from poor to bad to so bad it was fuuny! Most of the day time activites were aimed at younger children with very little for teens and adults( one game of water polo/basket a day) .The staff were always very pleasant and went out of their way to help.If you have booked this hotel don't worry you will have a nice time but unless you have young children we feel there are better AI deals out there.

Room Tip: We asked for a seaview and got a lovely room at the front of the hotel ( very quiet)

We came back yesterday from 10 day stay in the hotel, and in the end, for the first time, we were happy to be back.....

PLUS:
- The staff is very nice, Ricardo and Fatima at the reception and Manuel at the restaurant were especially nice and friendly. A great THANK YOU for their lovely welcome and smile.
- The beach near the hotel is lovely, and go to the right hand side of it, you won't find too much crowd
- The hotel is pretty new and the room was nicely furbished and big enough for 2 people
- When booking, we asked to be on the top floor if possible, and we got a room on the top floor with a big balcony. They are really doing their best so that you have everything you need

MINUS:
- If you are a couple with no children: STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!!!! Hundreds of children screaming, running around, crying..... I ended up one breakfast with coffee all over my dress because of the children running without paying attention. Parents seem to think that since they are on holiday, they deserve some rest, and you have to live with their kid's screams and moods. They run in the restaurant? Normal! Throw food, cry and misbehave? That's sooooo nice!

- Food is low quality..... Undercooked, pasta overcooked..... We really had the impression the food was as cheap as possible. No beef or red meet (only chicken or pork)... We spent our last days eating outside (lunch and dinner) and for less then 20 euros for 2 in some restaurants, you have excellent food! Even the cocktails at the bar: are prepared well in advance, kept on the bar (warm) and just served with some ice cubes... Most of them were not really good!

- The evening entertainment is clearly made for families with small children. You have music quiz and bingo games for example, but you can hardly participate because all the kids are standing in front of the stage, getting answers from their parents, and running as fast as they can to give the answers. We gave up after 2 minutes when we saw that, took the car and went far away.
Some days, evening entertainment should be for 18+, so that everyone can have fun even if you have no children.

- The cleaning staff is stressed, very nice but under pressure... The rooms are cleaned very fast and not very well. Bed are not changed - I put sand in the bed by mistake the second day and nothing was changed until the 8th day! Should have maybe mentioned it, but i assumed that in a supposedly "4 stars superior" hotel, it is something you can expect without having to ask. Cleaning the linen once during your stay is ok if you are not going to the beach
In the lift, a kid dropped a full bunch of chips on the floor: it stayed there until the next evening, without being cleaned.

I think this hotel is typically a FAMILY HOTEL, made for kids and i am sure the families have fun there because there is all you need.
But again, if you are a couple, looking for some rest, avoid this hotel, at least in July and August.

It is a great pleasure to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and let us express our gratitude by thanking you for sharing your positive thoughts about the friendly and efficient staff, room and general cleanliness.

Regarding the fact we have many children is true. We are a family hotel from June do August. During the rest of the months, you could really have a different experience in our hotel.

About food. We have worked for this year increasing one more main course in 2013, as also 4 themed nights (2 BBQ: One with 6 variety of meats and 2 fish and other with 6 variety of fish and two meats; Paellas evening and Algarve Cataplana and seafood). We have also added new pastas and pizzas in the buffet at lunches and a sauce station in both meals. The feedback is better this year, but we have already new goals for 2014. Regarding the entertainment, we have taken in consideration your review (and from other guests) by adding 3 new shows this summer, as also, changed the musicians. Despite our efforts with better feedback, we are already working to improve even more in 2014 season. But as I said. We are a family hotel during summer season.

About the cleaning of the room, definitely was a mistake and we apologise for that. Normally we do cleaning every days and change the linen as often is needed.

We have just returned on 16th August from a week at the Vila Gale Nautico with our two daughters aged 16 and 13. We had a family suite, which consisted of two rooms, one of which had two sofa beds in for the girls, these were full size beds not the narrow camp size ones we have been provided with in in other hotels, we also had two balconies, one with each room, one of which was huge. The Air Conditioning was great, very efficient and it didn't go off when you took your pass card out of the slot that let the lights work, that was only for the lights, you could leave it on whatever setting you wanted day and night and it stayed on, the maid never turned it off and it still worked even when you had the balcony doors open (although obviously not as efficiently) we were very impressed, and thankful given the heat at the beginning of our stay.
I do not understand the people who appear to have such varied and moany complaints about the hotel.
Yes the safe in the room has a hole in it where the lock goes, if the person complaining had thought to mention this to the staff at reception instead of moaning on Trip Advisor when he got home, he would have discovered the for 2.5 Euro's a day they would have provided him with a lock for the safe. Ok, I know some people make a fuss about paying for anything when they are All Inclusive, but we have never had a safe provided free in either the Balearics or the Algarve and just take it as one of the few costs to bear when away.
The staff in the hotel are all without exception friendly, helpful and courteous, we never noticed the Portugese people receiving preferential treatment, we always were offered bottled water either when we were arriving at our table or shortly afterwards. The restaurant staff worked very hard, and always had a friendly smile and a word, perhaps the moaners should try smiling at people, you usually receive one in return!
The food for an All Inclusive hotel was excellent, plenty of choice and always lovely and fresh, although I agree that the vegetables were a bit dissapointing and were more overcooked that I would do them at home. Again if you are a fussy eater you would have problems, but you probably have them wherever you go. We were not aware of anybody going down into the town for their meals because the hotel food was so bad, we certainly would not have considered it, I think the person who posted that either is talking about another hotel, or has an axe to grind against this one for some reason.
I found the wine fine, and you could get wine at the bar on All Inclusive, the list of bar drinks made it obvious what was and was not included on All Inclusive, and in keeping with everywhere else we have been if you wanted branded drinks you had to pay for them, personally we were all happy with the drinks we had, including cocktails.
The entertainment was more suited for families with young children, but we were happy having a drink following our evening meal and playing cards or taking a walk down into the town. Yes, I agree there were a lot of children at the hotel, but it is the height of the summer holidays so unless you go to an adults only hotel there are going to be children around, and yes some were badly behaved but the majority weren't and it certainly is not the fault of the hotel if children are badly behaved! We liked the mix of families, and found it much nicer than having loads of alcohol swigging people only concerned with getting drunk.
The availability of sunbeds was brilliant, no getting up at dawn to reserve them, one or two people obviously did, but we are literally talking of a handful of loungers taken, the majority of people reserved them at breakfast time, and there were absolutely loads of loungers, they've really tried to get as many out as they can, you could get one at most times of the day. Also the bar was really spacious, and you could always get a table after dinner if you didn't want to sit out on the terrace, all again a plus on other hotels we have visited.
This is a lovely family hotel, clean, friendly and ticked all of our boxes, we are already considering booking again for next year and will certainly recomend it to others.

rooms: had an excellent family suite, 1 bedroom, huge balcony, fridge included, blackout curtains, really comfy beds and sofa beds, lots of wardrobe space (though only in bedroom, not in lounge) tv in each room, adequate channels for hols i.e. kids channel, bbc, music channel, news channel. very clean. maid service outstanding, changed towels daily if you wanted. clean linen once during stay. very friendly maid service. came early first morning then changed rota so she came whilst we were out.

food: large self serve restaurant. always find a table, no queuing. breakfast, cold meats, cheese, bread etc, very nice bacon, not so nice sausages but kids loved them, beans, tomatoes, fresh fruit cereal, juices etc. Lunch: good choice fish, meats, pasta, rice, salads etc. dinner: same again, some really nice meat and fish dishes but most were in sauces or marinated which didnt suit the kids - they got by on the cold cuts, pasta, potatoes. veg a little disappointing only two per evening and a bit overcooked for me. Snack bar by pool; sandwiches, burgers, pizza slices, fries, chips, LOVELY ICE CREAM! You can go a la carte (section of main restaurant) which is a pleasant change from self service buffet.
All incs. lots of alcholic drinks to choose from, wine dispenser in restaurant at mealtimes very good. My 4 yr old daughter struggled a little as she doesnt like fizzy drinks, so mealtimes had water, poolside and in evening grenadine (syrup stuff) and water.
Pool: main pool lovely. very cold but ok once you got moving around. It's VERY DEEP though so we tended to use the kids pool for our 8 and 4 yr olds. we sat at side most of time to keep an eye on them. Its about hip height for a short adult! big enough for about 6 - 8 kids with a couple of inflatables. my kids spent most of the holiday in there. Loads of sunbeds and parasols we never had any trouble getting 2 or 3 beds and a parasol and wasnt aware of any major problems with people reserving them with towels. Towel service is good.
Location. Good. 5 - 10 mins walk into centre. 5 mins walk to beach, which is clean and large and sunbeds to hire. we took towels so dont know cost. If you veer right though, instead of left through residential, there are some lovely quiet coves. we didnt venture that way this time but previous knowledge when we visited several years ago.
entertainment; usual aquar aerobis, water polo, archery and other stuff if you want, or not, if you dont want. evening, nothing to write home about really, basically just a guy (different each evening) singing with keyboard or guitar, minidisco for little ones at 9 - 9.30, bingo, quizzes. all low key and just what we wanted.
staff: every member of staff; bar, restaurant, cleaning, funstars, Thomas cook reps and kids club were absolutely brilliant, friendly, smiling, courteous, helpful .... could go on and on but running out of adjectives!
Overall fantastic family holiday, would highly recommend, we found it good value. as said earlier only slightly downsides were the depth of the pool for our 8 year old son who can JUST swim 2 lengths, so not very confident (us - not him) and our 4 year old. lack of choice of veg and plain cooked meats for kids, oh and the coffee isnt brill either (but I'm very fussy about my coffee) could've done with tea/coffee making facilities in rooms then it would be absolutely perfect (and probably more expensive too)
