Bottom line... This is a great hotel, especially for families, and in a great location.

The food is great for 'AI' with lots of choice and all the staff are fantastic. A special mention to Diana from the Kid's Club Nep team who really is a credit to the hotel.

On reflection we would have skipped a night in Albufeira Old Town in favour of one of the many excellent restaurants in Armacao De Pera.

Can't comment on wifi as this is one thing I want to get away from and yes the outdoor pool might be cold but that's just what you need when it's hot, hot, hot..!

Room Tip: Sea view was good but overlooks a road

We have just returned from the Vila Gale Nautico at Armacao Dr Pera in Portugal. What a great relaxing week. The hotel is kept selflessly clean, food varied and tasty but kept free of oils or vineyard, but all the condiments you would like to add to your food are provided, therefore the food caters to all palates. Pancakes at breakfast are a must thin, light and toppings available. I made up honey and sprinkled cinnamon onto it stirred and drizzled over the pancakes yummy! Hence 5lbs weight gain!! Staff friendly, professional, informative, willing to help, bar staff are great and everyone makes you feel welcome. Would definately stay again and recommend. Beds a little firm for me but pillows comfy. We had room 533 but even numbered rooms have the pool and sea
views. Opt for those and 4th and 5th floor for the full effect. The resort itself is fairly flat, beautiful long beach into Fisherman's bay, eat and drink at Pedro's. Walk through the old town from there find the small streets with local bars and restaurant's. Visit the church a d chapel a d walk through the fort. Views great, clean, delicious ice creams and Sangria, cakes look for the local pastry shops. Visit and relax.

Room Tip: Even numbered rooms on 4th and 5th floors for views. Plenty of lifts. Use spa and Jacuzzi at the ind...

Just got back from this hotel after a week stay! Never been to Portugal before and have to say I had a awesome time at this hotel. The reception and bar team were always there and happy to help and the bar staff were always ready tonnage a laugh and bit of fun with guests whilst supplying your drinkies! Pool rasa was full of plenty in off sun beds and the pool was a great clean place to cool off with a dip in the pool (but beware it was freeeeezing). Snacks and drinks round the pool were lovely and probably better than the normal food. Rooms were clean and tidy and towels were replaced every day! Only negatives of this hotel were all inclusive food was a little samey but they are trying to appease the massives and the evening entertainment was pretty poor most nights apart from the karaoke night on Friday we had fun with that one! Overal I would happily go back to this hotel and did have a great time there!

Stayed here travelling alone with 3 kids (a toddler, a 9yr old & a teenager) all inclusive for a week in October 2013. This was the next to last week of their season so the hotel & resort were very quiet which suited me fine.
I knew on booking we were taking a chance on the weather at this time of year...it rained every day except one BUT the fact that we still really enjoyed our holiday shows how nice the hotel is. Staff are very friendly and made us feel welcome, I've forgotten the name of the girl who did the entertainment but she was lovely & had my older two joining in activities that they would have laughed at if I'd suggested it, such as shuffleboard, she just has a great way with people including kids.
It was always spotless in the restaurant and the food was very fresh & replaced regularly. Good choices of meals although I think we only made it to lunch twice because the kids were happy with poolside snacks. The ice cream was very popular and there were slushes too which they loved and there was always a selection of flavours to choose from unlike some AI I've been on.
Bar got busy at night even at the end of season so I should imagine it's packed in summer. The evening entertainment was a man with a guitar every night but I was in the room with the kids at those times so I can't really comment on that.
The room itself was a bit dated but very clean, as was the bathroom. The room was cleaned daily to a good standard & the towels replaced whenever they were left in the bath.
As we weren't able to go out at night because of the toddler I paid for the in room wifi. It was dodgy; dropped signal so you had to log in a lot but it wasn't a big issue. The free wifi works in the lobby and intermittently by the pool so if you just need to check emails that would be sufficient.
Not a long walk to the beach and the sea front itself is a nice walk.
I would definitely return here but I would take a travel kettle because I like a coffee in the morning when I wake up without going to the dining room. Also be prepared for a long queue at check in; to their credit the staff are very thorough & explain everything on arrival but this does mean you're waiting a long time in the queue if you're last off the bus, so sit up front on the bus and send one person to queue to check in while someone else waits for the bags.
All in all this was a better holiday than I expected for the price & I recommend it to any families including those travelling alone with kids of all ages.

Room Tip: our room overlooked the road at the front of the hotel but it was a quiet road (although it was Octo...

Just got back from a 2 week stay (22.05-5.06), the second time we have stayed at the hotel & we love it that much we have already booked again for next year! our boys, age 10 & 2 had an amazing time & there was enough to keep them both entertained during the day - the club nep staff are really friendly. We all enjoyed the food in the restaurant & pool bar & the variety of all inclusive drinks is great ( for adults as well as children!) and the anytime ice cream was a big hit too!
The local beach is lovely & quiet & the walk along the sea front is something we did most days.
Can't wait for next year!

Room Tip: This year we had a room overlooking the pool, and although there was a bit of noise from the evening...
