Hotel Mirachoro Praia
Ranked #6 of 18 Hotels in Carvoeiro
Reviewed 27 November 2013

We booked this hotel first week in October 6 of us and found the hotel was in a great location near all the restaurants and beach, first bar and cafe just 3 min walk from hotel and you will get to beach in 7/8 mins the town was v. nice and had loads of very nice restaurants to choose from and reasonably priced.
The hotel was clean and although brightly painted i found it cosy, the breakfast was good and fresh, the waiters always smiling, and pleasant, the only negative i have is about the female receptionist who could not smile or seemed in anyway inviting, on one occasion i asked for the loan of a pen to do crossword but was told there was none…….also there no maps or leaflets on any local interests or near towns anywhere in hotel which i found frustrating. The bedrooms were good and cleaned everyday and bathrooms good.
Would recommend this hotel for all round good value and short stay.

We stayed at the Mirachoro Hotel in October 2013 for 7 days. This was a second choice for us as we normally stay at the Tivoli hotel but my wife and I were pleasantly surprised at how nice the Mirachoro was. From reading previous reviews of the hotel we were a little nervous on arrival but from our experience we found our visit to be excellent. We were allocated a room on the far side of the hotel overlooking Carvoeiro town and the view was brilliant especially as the sun set at night. The corridors can be confusing with all the emergency exits and no real signs as to which goes where. The breakfast we thought was very good with plenty choice and the staff were very pleasant contrary to reports. The hotel decor takes some getting used to, bright reds and blues but very clean. The pool was excellent and we always had a sunlounger which came with a head shade partition on them. good idea. Pool drinks were good and not overpriced. Our room was good not luxury but decent and good size with comfy bed. Reception staff were very nice when requesting information especially the night duty person. Great location in Carvoeiro so never far from everything. We would definitely come back to the Mirachoro considering the price we paid. Excellent value.

Room Tip: Request a room on top floor overlooking Carvoeiro Town.

Some people that have reviewed this hotel ,,,have been looking for the Ritz complaining that the pool was too cold ( what do you want in 90 degrees heat ) That fluffy bathrobes should be left out and and the televisons were old.?..

Well its certainly not the Ritz but it is a fantastic hotel ideally located to enjoy Carvoeiro, with all it has to offer.
The pool is clean with plenty of loungers with a great pool bar that isn't to expensive. The breakfast in our opinion was great with plenty of choice for adults and kids alike .

We didn't try the hotel restraurants as Carvoiero has some fantastic Restraurants most of which are of far higher calibre than you will find in most mediterrian resorts....Orange and Happys (yes happys sounds like some tacky bar but certainlay isnt) where our favourites but you have to book these well in advance, We dont usually go back to the same destination twice ,,,not this time as we all cant wait to go back

The pool was great - which is the main thing I guess. Usual game getting loungers but we were never left without, and the pool bar was lovely with in water seats and cold beer. Breakfast was good, bit samey but plentiful. Room was adequate - had a fridge which was helpful. The hotel is at the top of the hill which means some walking but good views fairly nearby. Definitely try the local freshly squeezed orange juice in the roadside shops. The bar at the hotel was strangely underused - felt like they needed to do some promotions or something as no-one was ever there. Overall we were very happy with our choice of hotel.

Room Tip: We were disappointed not to get a room overlooking the pool BUT in the end appreciated that we didn...

Stayed for a week and had a great time. Some of the reviews on here are a little snobby if you ask me and if some people wanted more they should have purchased 5 star hotel. The staff were very friendly, the hotel very clean and the facilities superb. Literally 1 minute walk to the first restaurant and there are plenty to choose from catering for all tastes. This hotel also has an indoor pool, jacuzzi and a sauna. On offer is B&B or half board and food is very good and is available on a buffet type service only.
All in all a very pleasurable holiday.

Just returned from this hotel. We had very low expectations due to what we had read. Have to see it was really quite nice though. The decoration is a little bright but its interesting. The rooms were clean and tidy . The beds were a little hard but not too bad. just a word to any ladies - take your own hairdryer!!!! The hotel is at the top of the hill that houses all the eating places. The hill is steep but steady. Only disappointing thing was the beach. We thought it was very underwhelming.Just our opinion. Overall the resort and hotel are very nice.

I booked this hotel not expecting too much having read some of the reviews.
I was pleasantly surprised not sure how much people paid but I certainly felt as I got great value for the money. Yes it's not quiet 4 star but all the facilities are there it just depends what your expectations are.
As everyone says breakfast is really good. Room was fine nice & quiet.
Carlos the pool barman deserves a mention we had some lovely chats with him.
Yes some of the staff appear a bit unhappy but on the whole I found them ok.
The restaurants nearby are great hard to choose a favourite but if you like a curry the Hawelli Tandoorie just superb had 2 great curries there.
Our first time in Portugal & I loved the resort missing it already.
