We had an enjoyable and relaxing week's stay here. We had stayed here before so we were expecting the colourful decor which we quite like as it is not at all bland and has character.

We were in room 223 which had a good view over the pool and the sea in the distance. Our bed was comfortable and the furniture adequate- the plastic balcony table was way past its best though. The bathroom was a reasonable size and there was a plentiful supply of hot water with decent water pressure from the (in bath) shower; you had to be careful getting out though as there was no handrail so older guests beware! The room was cleaned to a high standard each day

We found the pool area quite relaxing-not too many noisy children! We never had a problem finding sun loungers which were good with movable sun shades to keep the sun out of your eyes. My wife particularly enjoyed the indoor pool though the outdoor one was never too busy (maybe too cool for some).

A good choice of breakfast-cereal, tinned fruit, bacon, eggs etc and a cake to finish.

A good location also on the edge of the village centre and not too far from a scenic cliff top walk. Loads of restaurants within a 10 min walk though they do get very busy of an evening.

The local bus stop is just a couple of minutes away where you can get a bus to Lagoa for connections to interesting places like Silves and Lagos. The mini train is good value either for a tour round the village area or a trip to the smaller, but perhaps more traditional, village of Ferragudo.

Room Tip: Not facing the inner courtyard

We have stayed at this hotel on four separate occasions so they must have been doing something right! The hotel is in a good location and breakfast is ample with a wide choice including cereals, coffee, toast, eggs, bacon, etc.

Putting aside the hard beds, flat pillows and the free wi-if you are unable to connect to, we were disappointed with the customer service at the lunchtime pool bar. We ordered from the 'hot bar menu' - burger and chips. However, it arrived cold - when I pointed this out politely to the guy at the pool bar he responded aggressively by saying 'what do you want me to do about it?' and shouted at me in front of other guests.

I found this behaviour unacceptable and asked for a refund - this was refused. I then spoke to the manager to explain about the food being cold and the rude behaviour. He offered lunch to be cooked again and really couldn't grasp the poor attitude and unacceptable behaviour - also, a refusal to refund.

Come on Mirochoro you can do better than this - perhaps more time needs to be spent selecting people, inducting and training them. Isn't this critical in the service environment? A genuine apology explaining what is being done so the behaviour is not repeated surely is a basic requirement of a 4 star hotel. I'm sorry we will not be going back or recommending it.

When I booked the hotel it was more for the location however the photos online don't do it justice. The hotel is lovely and extremely clean. Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels. The pool area is really nice with a great poolside bar, and even though it was July we never struggled to find a lounger.
The location is absolutely brilliant for couples or families. It is close to great restaurants and bars. Some I would recommend are the Havana Bar where the do fab 2 for 1 cocktails between 6 and 8 and to eat try A Rede restaurant, food is amazing also Bradys Irish bar is great as they have live bands every night. We had a great time here and couldn't recommend it enough.

We spent a week this July here chasing the sun and avoiding the reality of the grim London weather. Hotel Mirachoro Praia was lovely and accommodating. I found the staff to be the absolute highlight of the property. They were always so helpful, polite and would go the extra mile to assist with anything we needed.

The decor and rooms are dated and becoming tired and the beds as mentioned by other reviewers are quite hard. This is easily remedied by using the duvet in the closet as an under-sheet.

Breakfast was tasty, particularly the Portuguese muffins and caters to both a hot or continental breakfast taste. You can also have ridiculously cheap (for hotel prices) bottles of Matteus by the pool. The pool area is large and very popular. The guests do have a habit of claiming sun beds with their towels at the crack of dawn, so I'd recommend leaving your morals to one side and do the same if you actually want a sun bed. When in Rome...

The hotel is perfectly located to make the most of Carvoeiro town, beach and the stunning array of beaches nearby.

I would return here.

We stayed here in July. The rooms are a good size and are very ckean, housekeeping called everyday. All rooms have air conditioning which is a must as the temperatures soared to over 38 degrees when we were there. The buffet breakfast is great with a choice of continental style or a cooked breakfast, and plenty of it. The pool area is spacious and there was no waiting on sunbeds. The location is excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was the mini-bar size fridge in the room wasn't that cold. Our first time here and we will be going back as we had a great stay.

Room Tip: We asked for a pool or sea view but we got neither so I assume requesting a particular room will get you no-where. All rooms are nice though
