From the road it can appear as a dusty restaurant next to Rocha Brava.Do not be deceived , the food is excellent , wines (mainly Portugese Hooray) are well chosen and plenty of outside terrace seating.
The menu features fish and shellfish with predictably excellent Gambas .Changing fish choices and first courses including the eternal Portugese offering of soup , good figs with air dried ham or 3 or 4 other options.
The main courses include local lamb and a chicken piri piri that will do wonders for sale of mineral water but who can resist it?
Puddings include fresh strawberries , orange cake and if memory is correct, cheese.
The staff are friendly and everyone speaks English,if you are in no rush do let them know and they will slow the tempo.
Owner and his wife are friendly and will recommend a wine without trying to talk you up.
Top Tip: Credit cards are not accepted so take cash , one feels sorry for the proprietors facing 23% Vat (included in reasonable prices not an extra) and can see why it is cash only at present.
If staying at Rocha Brava leave your car at the entrance car park and walk the 200 yards to the restaurant (turn left on leaving RB) and no worries about the breathalyser.
Will we eat again when in the area? Yes
