We booked this villa for the final week of a family holiday on our first visit to Portugal; it was a great location to relax after sightseeing in Lisbon and Sintra (about 3 hrs drive away).
The villa is ideally situated in a quiet residential area, but within about 15 mins walk of the centre of Carvoeiro with its many bars, restaurants and entertainment. It may take slightly longer walking back as some of it is up hill.
The villa is spacious inside with plenty of space around the pool area where there is covered seating, a built in barbecue and a hammock for that afternoon nap.
The pool was great for cooling off, but the depth of the shallow end and fairly steep gradient may not make it suitable for families with younger children.
The villa is reasonably equipped, although we did find the pillows a little lumpy, compared to what we are use to. The owner thoughtfully provided a welcome bottle of wine, but you should be aware that there were no basics (e.g salt and pepper) that would often be left by previous occupants.
The villa did remain comfortably cool, although we were not there at peak temperatures and we did make use of the air conditioning that is available in three of the four bedrooms.
There are two new supermarkets just 10 mins drive away; a small Aldi and a larger and more expensive Appolonia.
So good accommodation and location for a relaxing week near the beach.
This is a truly fantastic villa and the photos really don't do it justice. It's clean, very well decorated and furnished, it's spacious and has all the amenities a family could want. Carla was very attentive and even brought the children gifts when she came to clean! The pool is lovely and the area surrounding gets plenty of sunshine while the barbeque area provides a shadier option. The large garden extends around the perimeter of the property and as the gate out to the street could be locked, our 3 year old daughter enjoyed the freedom of exploring and picking fruit from the trees. The villa is situated on a lovely quiet street within a few minutes drive of the center of Carvoiero, beaches and supermarket. It should only take 5-10 minutes to walk to the beach but as it's all down hill, the way back takes longer and was a bit of struggle for us with young children but we just drove down instead and could park easily so wasn't a problem. The Algarve is beautiful and perfect for children. We will definitely return and hopefully to this villa.
