We stayed at Hotel Eva for a week at the end of October and found it an ideal base for us and thank all the friendly and helpful staff who made it such an enjoyable stay.

Our hotel room was clean, bright and comfortable with a beautiful view of the marina and a nice balcony with table and chairs.

A self-service breakfast of excellent quality, with plenty of variety was available in the restaurant on floor 5 with stunning views over the marinas and nature reserve.

Hotel Eva is conveniently close to restaurants, shops and the lovely old part of the city - everything is within easy walking distance.

We would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Eva and Faro for a holiday and we are certain we will return.

Just back from a weekend break here, and while I did enjoy it this is not really a four star standard. The location, however, is excellent for pottering around the old town and watching life around the marina if you have a marina view room. Staff were pleasant, if not effusive, but the rooms are quite small and lack some of the details that I would expect of a four star hotel. There were no tissues in the bathroom, and no tea/coffee making facilities. Yes, you could order coffee through room service, but when my friend did this one morning she said her coffee was almost cold on arrival. Breakfast was average - a variety of breads and fruits and continental breakfast items and bacon, scrambled eggs, and beans on the hot trays. It was adequate, but I certainly wouldn't rave about it. Having said that, it was a comfortable stay and probably the best option if you want to stay actually in Faro itself. The rooftop pool area is quite nice, with good views, although the bar there was not open when we stayed. Be aware that it is on the flight path, so there are periods when you get a lot of aircraft noise. Great if you like watching planes coming and going, but not for everyone.

The view, the terraces, the gym and the spa, the location and the staff are all very good. Nevertheless, 2 things were a bit annoying:
- I had free WiFi with my booking, but had to get a new username and pin on daily basis ... and both are some six digits random numbers so no way to recall them.
- There is no way to get an iron. The hotel has their laundry service and you can use that, but that means that if you just got in and want to 'refresh' the clothes you want to wear upon arrival and leave the hotel, it is not possible.
These examples of certain rigidness, reduced my pleasure of staying in, otherwise, a nice hotel.

P.S. If you are not as good sleeper as I am, make sure not to book the room with the street view because, the street is quite busy.

Room Tip: Rooms overviewing the marina are quiter.

Dear Guest,

We value greatly that you took the time to comment on Hotel Eva, and some of the things you considered were not up to your standards - the internet password only lasting 24 hours, and the fact that we do not have irons to lend to guests. As in every system or company there is always room for improvement - we will consider all feedback a useful instrument for future improvements.
With our best regards,

Excellent location, steps to the marina, day-trips and the old city. Don't let the visual approach from the train station fool you - this is a modern, clean, well run hotel where English is easily spoken. The breakfast buffet is great and more than adequate to launch your day. The front door is a less than 5 minute walk from the old city and the same to the train station. The windows and patio doors were equipped with black-out curtains that overlapped and kept out unwanted light - this coupled with the excellent mattresses and pillows made for some of the best hotel sleep ever. Rooms were spacious and bathrooms clean, with lots of hot water. Free wi-fi was fast and worked well but there were some dead-spots in the suites.

Highly recommended for a Faro weekend break.

Room Tip: Request a sea view unless you want to look over the town and train station. For only a little extra...

Just back from 4 days at this great hotel
Views over the harbour are wonderful .the room was larger than expected and was clean and airy with two balconys
The breakfasts were superb . I did review another hotel last year and gave that a rave review on breakfast but EVA is the best . Quantity, quality plus variety of hot fresh produce ,served without crowding, whilst you watch the planes taking off in the distance-wonderful .
The location is ideal , right next to the bus stop and about 200 yards from the station ,while the hotel is within the heart of the town with its masses of bars etc .
The staff are friendly and very helpful
It has a great pool area with lots of beds and chill out areas, plus a roof top bar. Food in the evening was well priced and excellent interms of quantity, taste and service.
Quite frankly I could not fault this hotel and would most definately go back there again

I stayed here for 1 night prior to getting early flight. Friendly efficient staff good sized room. The restaurant was inexpensive . The breakfast was a standard continental one. Although my room looked on to the main road there was very little noise in the evening.

We stayed in hotel Eva 12-19th October this year. We had chosen it because it seemed close to the centre of Faro and we were not mistaken. The hotel's main entrance took us to te marina and a 5 minute walk later we were in the main area of Faro.
The hotel has a lovely lobby and all staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. There is a small lounge in the lobby area with a bar which was manned occasionally. That was our only isuue that we could not always get a drink when we returned to the hotel in the evening but with the prices there we did not want to do that often. typically my partner could get a beer for 1 Euro in local bars but same in hotel was 4 Euros!!

Our room on 4th floor faced the street and we were concerned we would hear too much noise but brilliant double glazed doors took care of that. We had a balcony which had table and chairs and was a pleasant place to sit early morning. No sun later meant it was a bit too shady for James.
The room was clean and comfortable with a mini bar and safe-very handy for passports etc. One day I couldn't get safe to open but 10 minutes later a new battery solved that issue.
There was a sign saying please hang up towels if you do not need them replaced, which we did, but I'm sure they were replaced every day as was bedding. Either that or towels and sheets were ironed daily!!
Breakfast was self service on 5th floor. lovely food, plenty variety and a lovely view over marina and nature reserve-who could ask for more at breakfast?
Everything considered I would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Eva and Faro for a holiday, I am certain we will return.

Room Tip: ask for marina view for sun in afternoon.
