We stayed here for a few days in mid-January and found the hotel to be one of the nicest we visited. The staff were really nice, they couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable and the relaxed atmosphere was the perfect medicine for a mid-winter break. The hotel itself has got heaps of charm and is spotlessly clean, the downstairs cafe is great with good coffee and top quality pastries.

One small recommendation I would have is that it would be nice if there was a shower stool in the wheelchair room, it wasn't a huge problem, but it would be a very useful addition.

Overall, top quality hotel with great staff, clean and charming rooms and in a very charming area of Faro, would certainly stay here again.

A very friendly hotel, from the moment we arrived we were greeted like family. The room was clean and tidy and had every you would need in a hotel in Portugal as realistically, who just goes abroad to sit in their room all day.

Close to the town, didn't need to hire a car as there were plenty of regular buses.

Breakfast was available here also, more of a continental option but great all the same.

Looking to go back this year, as we had such a great time.

Can't wait!

The hotel is perfectly positioned 5 minutes from the bus and train stations and the town centre. Very clean and comfortable, especially for a two star rated hotel. Breakfast is varied with a selection of cereal, bread, toast, and tea coffee chocolate and juices.

Our room was on the roadside of the hotel, but no traffic noise heard due to the quadruple glazing. The hotel is also close to town centre restaurants, and the bars and clubs are literally two streets away!

I've just returned from 2 nights in Faro on my own with 2 young children. We stayed at the Sol Algarve and would go back again. The hotel is very well-located (the airport bus stops nearby) and is only a short 5 min walk to the old city. The people who run the hotel were really helpful and friendly. They let us in to our room at 11am on the first day when we arrived early, which was really helpful, and let us store our luggage when we checked out as our flight wasn't until later that day. They have town maps and lots of advice. They also offered us umbrellas and to dry our clothes after we got caught in a rain storm on the first day. I felt very safe there by myself with the children.
We had a triple room for 50 euros a night, so really good value. Lovely balcony view across the city. Clean and comfortable. OK, the TV didn't work and the water wasn't really hot, but that didn't bother us and for 2 nights it wasn't a problem. The breakfast was perfectly adequate: lots of cereals, bread rolls and croissanty things. Free wifi.
I would recommend this hotel for a couple of nights and definitely recommend Faro for a city break.

I made a last minute booking due to the proximity to the train station and the reviews on Tripadvisor. When i was informed that the room was €38 a night including breakfast i was wondering what we were going to get but i needn't have worried.

Checkin - easy, everything was ready to go and we were given a map and suggestions for activities.

The double room - big enough for two people and their luggage. Spotlessly clean. A small TV with lots of channels (many of them in english), a small balcony overlooking the courtyard with views of several storks and nests. The bathroom was a good size with plenty of towels, a bath and a shower with plenty of hot water and pressure and a decent hairdryer. The wifi only worked periodically in the room but was great in the lounge downstairs.

The breakfast - a lovely sunny room. Orange juice, tropical juice, reasonable urn coffee, hot and cold milk, 4 types of cereals, yoghurt, rolls, croissant, ham, cheese, jam and butter. Toast available on request. Espresso coffee for €0.55 and fresh orange juice for €1.50. Nothing to complain about here.

The location - a very easy less than a five minute walk from the train station and less than 10 from the bus station. Walking distance to all the sights, central Faro, the marina and the old town. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. On a quiet street which was good.

The staff - all spoke excellent english. All were extremely helpful and genuinely interested in ensuring that our trip was enjoyable. Susanna was particularly helpful with excellent restaurant recommendations and helping me book a surprise first wedding anniversary dinner in Almancil for my husband.

If i return to Faro i would stay here again.

This might not be the biggest room or the nicest bed you have ever slept in, but the price is reasonable for what you get. Excellent breakfast choices in the morning. Very friendly, all night reception (can call a taxi no matter the time), 10min from the train station, 5 min from the port and 10min from the old city centre. We were not bothered by the noise on the road, although we had a room on the street side and the students had a big event that night only 5min down the road (small street, not much activity). Only real downside was that is was not the cleanest room we ever stayed in, but we have seen lot worse. We would revisit if we would every return to Faro.

Location - The hotel is in a very convenient location. It is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the bus station including the stop for the airport bus. It is about a 10 minute walk to the old town. A taxi from the airport takes less than 10 minutes and costs about 10 Euros.

Room - The room was very clean and a decent size. The ensuite was also clean and a reasonable size. The room had air conditioning and free wi fi. My room was located at the back of the hotel and was very quiet at night.

Breakfast - The breakfast room was very pleasant and was situated beside a small courtyard where you could also take your breakfast. The food available whilst not extensive was sufficient. It consisted of rolls, ham, cheese, a choice of cereal, yogurt, juice, tea and coffee.

Staff - All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Value - I stayed at the hotel in October and thus it was probably cheaper than during the peak season. However it was very good value for money.

Overall I was delighted with my stay at the hotel and would certainly stay there again if I was ever back in Faro.
