The staff were great and the location couldn't be better, it's just across the road from the marina and smack bang in the middle of all the shops and restaurants.

The very modern lobby and public areas were promising, but the room was quite basic.

Even though it wasn't a very hot day, the airconditioning couldn't cool the room down, even when cranked right up with the temperature right down. When you opened the window the a/c cuts out and your get the normal street noise you would expect for the area - late into the night meant a bad night's sleep (even with good earplugs) before a very early start and a very long day of planes, buses and cars.

Also the wifi is charged (and a hefty charge at that), but that's okay if it means I get good speed and reliability - however it barely worked! One teeny tiny bar of coverage on my laptop and my iPad couldn't find the network at all.

So to sum up, I was underwhelmed by the room, the a/c was from the 1970s and the wifi was a joke. But the staff and the location were awesome...

The hotel location is near everything, restaurants, shops, transportation. The view from the roof terrace is fantastic. The service is very good at the front desk. Wifi is free, but I was not able to connect to it, as the SSID was not even listed. I suspect they use the old b or a Wi-Fi protocol.
The included breakfast was good with a nice selection.
We had twin beds that was not comfortable for us.

Recommended.

Great position next to the marina and old town.
Modern functional rather that's beautiful room but did the job. Would have preferred a double bed for comfort not a twin.
easy to find and very easy drive to airport early in the morning. It has a great view from the roof top terrace.

This was one of the many towns and hotels that our 5 weeks in Spain and Portugal brought us to without reservations.

As we were picking up relatives from the airport the next day, we checked out trip advisor, picked Hotel Faro from the reveiws and just put the address into our hire car gps system.

We weren't disappointed. We checked out other local hotels on arrival, but Hotel Faro gave best option, value and location.

Sitauated on the quay side and on the edge of the car free zone that gives a large number of resturants, shopping and entertainment options.

Being a weekend meant there was no shortage of no charge car parking o the street outside the hotel.

And location meant we could walk everywhere.

Old city was also on hotel doorstep. Where you can wonder and find many wonderful bars and resturants.

Hotel has a rooftop bar and resturant which was a great spot to enjoy a sunset drink and watch the local market and parade on the quay side.

As we stayed outside of peak summer, noise was not a problem.

great hot or cold breakfasts on rooftop restaurant overlooking marina. Stayed 10 days with very friendly and helpful staff advising on best restaurants, rail journeys to pretty nearby towns and boat trips tp various islands in the lagoon. Best gaspacho in town! Easy walking to the dozens of cafes and the historic Old Town

Room Tip: smoking rooms available

Stayed for the second time this year at the Hotel Faro. It is in an excellent location, right next to the marina, restaurants and shops. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean, bed and pillows comfortable and toiletries provided. Very quiet rooms at night - no noise heard and got a good nights sleep. Breakfast buffets were excellent with plenty hot and cold food options. We will definitely be returning to this hotel.
Only two suggestions - it would be great to have tea/coffee facilities in the room and how about doing a hot and cold buffet in the restaurant at night (I am sure this would be well used and would generate a lot more income for the hotel).
Thanks again for a great stay.

Room Tip: If you are a smoker, ask for a room on the third floor.

The location of the hotel is very nice, in a quiet area (walking streets). There is a big public car park underneath the hotel, with direct connection to the lobby. The room was really average, with poor quality floor and furniture. The bathroom was good. The bed was firm and good.
I would have given 4 dots to this hotel if the price had been lower.I think the value for money is not so good. I cannot say it is a "very good" hotel. "Average" is maybe a little bit too harsh. But the is no "good" selection ...
