“Amazing staff and good value for money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 October 2013 via mobile

The staff were amazing. Very nice and resourceful. I cannot empathize this enough.

The facilities were in good state and very clean, although there was a lot of dust under the sink in my room.

The restaurant opens very early and closes very late. Breakfast was *very* good, but then I had prawn salad and it wasn't great -- the prawns didn't taste fresh at all (not that they advertised fresh prawns, in fairness).

The place is within easy access to the center of Faro and the airport. You'd pay around €10 for a taxi ride to either of these two places.

My first thought on arriving with two large and heavy suitcases was What have I done! Reception was at the top of two flights of stairs that seemed to present a problem without suitcases. I left the suitcases behind and hauled my way up the steps, only to find the reception closed and a notice saying to contact the restaurant. I located the receptionist who confirmed my worst fears. No lift in this block. He explained that I could have a room in another block which had a lift but the rooms were smaller and no balcony. At this point I decided that if I was to suffer a heart attack I would at least have it in a superior room with balcony. He gallantly offered to take my cases up for me and a sweet young waitress half the size of nothing volunteered her services with the other case. I watched in shame has she hauled the suitcase up the two flights of stairs. I was given a large room with an equally large bed. On opening the shutters I found a balcony the size of another room overlooking the swimming pool. The room was spotless and had a good size en suite. The request for cups and a fridge in the room had an immediate response. We now retired to the restaurant to consider my choice of hotels over a cup of coffee. Two thirds of the restaurant has tables made up for dining the remaining part sort of less formal café style. A covered veranda stretches the length of the outside of the restaurant. The outside grounds are nice with a large heated swimming pool Tennis courts, football pitch and a block that houses further sporting activities. I figured the stairs up to our room would provide all the exercise we would need. We ate in the restaurant every night and found the food both good quality and very reasonable in price. The staff were great and gave the impression they enjoyed making your stay an enjoyable one. It certainly worked for us. We chose the hotel for a four day break close to the airport for our return flight. A taxi into Faro is under 10 Euro there are also buses if you can walk a short distance but we didn't bother. In all what appeared at the outset to be a ghastly mistake turned out very good.200 Euro for 4 nights with continental breakfast. I would not hesitate to recommend the Rialgarve. My only reservation would be if you can not manage the stairs.

Room Tip: Room in the main block facing the pool

It is a very clean, friendly but also very basic sport hotel located in a town next to Faro. Rooms were clean, but with basic equipment. It is a sport hotel with many basketball, and tenis courts and one outdoor pool. Rooms sold by "discounts on the internet" do not have an AC. If this hotel would charge 20 eur for a night, I would not mind to sleep there for one night while traveling.

Ps: I recomed not to go to Faro anyway...

Stayed for a week In August 2013,a bit far from the beach but if your driving its only 10mins,but parking at the beach is horrendous, super busy . As for the hotel fairly clean, reasonable rooms,no air con so rooms are very hot.pool area Is good if it was only for hotel users but they turn it into a public pool in the afternoon, lots of children and teenagers, not enough sun loungers for everybody.overall would rate it fairly poor recommend you save your money and spend it something a bit better.

Clean and spacious rooms, comfortable beds, nice terrace. 5 mins walk to supermarket, 10 mins to bus stop, 45 mins walk to downtown (cabs are reasonable). Very nice and helpful staff who were eager to recommend us things to do in Faro. We had a lovely stay!

Stayed here for 10 days in July. Didn't know what to expect as we weren't going to be there much and it was 500e for the say but it was FAB! Staff soo friendly to talk to and pass time or drink with. Always did their best to help call taxi's or advise great restaurants. It's more like a sports complex/hotel with a swimming pool football pitch and tennis etc... But for a short or long stay i'd definitely recommend it! See you again i'm sure!

Room Tip: Take the room with Air con lol
