“Great location”
Reviewed 14 February 2013

We stayed here for one night. I got a great deal through booking.com. Paid 24 euros including breakfast. My review is based on this price. I think if it was more expensive lI would rate it differently. Maybe one star less.

The reception greeted us friendly. Gave us all the information we needed to know about our stay. We arrived early but were able to get into our room right away. The wifi is different on each floor and therefore fast. The room was rather oddly shaped but decent size. It looked new and was clean and quiet. The bathroom is small. I almost fell from the toilet as the seat was loose which I though was little bit dangerous! They should have checked it.

The location is good but then again Faro is very small so everything is in easy walking distance. The shopping area is one street behind the hotel. We walked to the mall (Forum Algarve) which took us about 20 minutes. The bus terminal is a short 5-10 min walk. Make sure to not take small streets. You might end up walking longer than needed.

We left early to catch the bus to Seville and didn't have much time to eat breakfast. We asked whether we could take it to go and they were kind enough to give us a paper box to put some fruit and bread in it. We appreciated this.

Greeting was friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is good.
But the room was (much) smaller than others in the same category, and slanted, ie the bed was across the room diagonally, and therefore taking up most of the space. Things started going wrong in the morning : the ceiling in the bathroom started leaking in the shower, which woke me up. Then a cleaning lady came in without knocking at 9 am and caught me standing naked in the middle of the room - awkward. I decided it was time to go down for breakfast - but the hot option was over, and I was explained there wouldn't be any more brought out, as they had run out. Now, I really don't see the point of advertising serving breakfast till 10.30 if you've run out of decent things to serve by 9.30!
Overall, I can't say I would recommend this hotel :(

I stayed here with my partner at the end of October 2012 for one night (Saturday). We had a problem with our flight and had to stay in Faro over night. The airport tourist desk suggested here and we weren't dissapointed. The hotel is 7-8 mins walk from both the bus & train stations, in the middle of the shopping & restaurant area of Faro. We didn't have a booking and were more than happy to be offered a double room for €50 B&B. This was the room price, not the charge per person. It was one of their smaller rooms but it was very clean as was the ensuite. We could have had a bigger room if we wanted, for about €65. The room was nicely decorated and had a balcony with rooftop views and air conditioning. Breakfast was also a pleasant suprise. There was a selection of cereals, cold meats, cheeses, fruit, breads, pastries and hot "Irish\English" breakfast sausage, egg, etc.
This place is a little gem and is well worth it's 3 stars. I recommend it !!!!

Room Tip: The hotel is on a quiet road so if you get a room to the front it should be quiet. The hotel backs o...

A very convenient location just off the top of the main pedestrian shopping street - an easy 15 minute walk from rail station, less from bus station ( where airport bus stops ).
I asked for a quiet room, but was allocated overlooking the narrow, but busy rua portugal, and the traffic noise was not totally blocked out by the good double glazing. The hotel had carpet on the corridors, but elsewhere just ceramic tiles, so you could hear every high heel, dropped pen, scraping of furniture above and around you. ( also, it seemed impossible to shut the main bedroom doors quietly )
The room itself was fine for one person, and just big enough for two ( as a superior room, there was a little extra space set up as a small sitting area in the window ). The standard sized rooms were tight for two people. The 2 single beds were comfortable, and the room overall looked quite attractive, as pictured on the net. The bathroom, looked to have been recently refurbished, though with some corner cutting. The sealant around the bath tub was already attracting mould, and the shiny metallic legs of the basin were already starting to peel .
There is a small lounge area serving drinks, but the chair coverings were very dirty - they need washing, replacing, or at least covering with a cotton sleeve over the arms. The coffee shop and restaurant both looked ok. The breakfast room was a little cramped, and the tables were too small and unstable, since there was no mini refuse bucket, and the staff were slow to remove used plates, since they were also topping up the buffet. The selection and quality of the breakfast buffet was better than expected for a standard hotel.
Faro is a great place to stay, and though not really enthused by the hotel, i would consider staying there again, if there was a 10 euro + per night difference with the 4 stars in town ( which did not have encouraging reviews anyways..)

The hotel is clean, quiet (except the blooming pigeons early in the morning), the bed is large and comfortable.

Staff are quite friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was not quite what I expected, but I am not going to make bones about it.

Happy to stay there again.

The hotel was central, close to restaurants, 5 mins from the bus and rail station (which is why we chose it). Clean and comfortable. As they were full, they upgraded us from a standard room to a superior room, it was very small so I would not like to see the "standard" room. It was a one-night stay so our impressions were limited.

Room Tip: Our "superior room" was very small, but perhaps they have bigger "superior" room...

We stayed here on arrival in Portugal with our 2 sons, so that we didn't have to travel late and get to our 2 week resort stay in Praia Da Luz very late that evening.
The hotel was a 10-15 minute taxi trip from the airport and we were given an interconnecting room which was really clean and had lovely ensuite bathrooms to each. The hotel was located in the centre and a few minutes walk gave us a great choice of restaurants and shops.
The breakfast in the morning was very good, with plenty of options for all people. I am coeliac, my wife vegetarian and with 2 teenage boys the choices were enough to keep us all happy.
We then caught the train from Faro to Lagos and a short taxi ride to Luz, the money saved in taxi fares from Faro to Luz went towards our overnight stay in Faro :)
Will do it again when we next go to Portugal!
