“We love the apartment!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2011

We stayed at Dona Ana Garden for 4 nights and had a fantastic time there.
Jose, the owner and staff there were so helpful and friendly.
We stayed one night in a the Double room and the rest of the time in 1 bed room apartment I highly recommend the 1 bed room (room 214, 1st floor, a balcony with little sea view which I like!)
Large apartment for 2 people! Comfortable bed and sofa too.
There were English TV channels and also good Wifi.
We used the BBQ located beside the pool, the complex supplied the charcorl.
Relaxed in the swimming pool.
You just need to get condiments if you cook which is quite normal if you stay at a self-catering type apartment.

We didn't have a car but it was easy to get to the town on foot (10-15 mins) and 7mins to the Dona Ana beach .
There is a very nice restaurant called O Briol nearby, we went there 2 nights!

Having a car would be better to look around Lagos but it didn't affect our stay at this lovely apartment! Very good value!!!
There is parking space outside.

We will definitely go back!

We stayed in two bedroom apartment (T2B) belonging to Dona Ana Garden, but placed separately in a apartment building. The apartment was spacious, nicely organised. One bedroom has one big, comfortable (2x2 meters) bed and the second has two separated beds. The kitchen was well equipped with microwaves, owen etc. During our 10 days stay we had a cleaning service once.
The distance to Dona Ana Garden, where we went to the swimming pool (nice place to relax) and to buy groceries, was about 5 minutes walk, the distance to the beach was about 10 minutes. There are stairs to the beach, but my 1,5 yrs baby managed to go on her feet, so it's not bad The beach itself is amazing.
The walk to walls of the old town is about 10 minutes. The nearest supermarket is about 10 minutes (look for SPARK on your was to the old town). The grocery near Dona Ana is more basic but have a lot of usefull stuff and the prices are fine.
The walk to the main bus station (EVA and RENEX) and train (cp.pt) is about 35 minutes. One of the closest bus station (ONDA company) was by the beach.

Room Tip: If you want more privacy I must say that staying in a T2B aparment is a good choice. It's closer...

We stayed in Dona Ana Garden for 3 night this summer. The one bedroom apt was part of a small residential complex with a swimming pool and BBQ area. It is located right next to the turn down to the Dona Ana beach (reception is the gsmall grocery shop at the thop of the road) so it is easy to find and there is no problem with parking (parking space behind the building). Dona Ana Beach and Camilo Beach (with a lovely restaurant O Camilo) are located just 5-10min walk and it is 15 min walk to the centre of Lagos. Location is great, because it is situated in a quiet area but the night life is not too far away either. The exterior of Dona Ana Garden is lovely but the room itself was very basic. We missed a kitchen area where we could prepare our meals and it could have been equipped better as well. The bed was a little bit hard and walls are very thin so we could hear everything from surrounding rooms. The furniture was old (could smell its odour in the room) and towels had been used so many times that had holes in them.
To summarize, the room was not very expensive so we got what we paid for, although we expected a little bit more. It is a basic beach accommodation in a great location, close to the beautiful Dona Ana beach. It is Ok to spend 2-3 nights there, but I don't think we would book a week there.
We had a very pleasant staying in Lagos, but it was because Lagos is a beautiful place.

We've just had the most amazing holiday in Lagos! Dona Ana Garden was just perfect for us. We rented a self-catering studio apartment which was light, airy and spacious. It was so reasonably priced too! It was clean, comfortable and had everything you needed (fridge, microwave, kettle, crockery and cutlery, pots and pans!) The pool was gorgeous and warm. Lagos was incredible-the beach near the apartment is lovely (2-3 minute walk), with a really nice restaurant (cheap!) but quite small. The beach further into Lagos was stunning-loooonngg stretch of beach, stunning sea to swim in, loungers and umbrellas to rent and lots of water activities to do-we did parasailing-AMAZING! We walked there every day (about about 20 minutes) but you could drive and there's loads of parking available. We walked into Lagos every evening for dinner-there are so many restaurants to choose from with delicious food and wine/cocktails/sangria! There's a really lovely atmosphere in the evenings-lots of activity. We had hired a car from Faro airport, but never actually used it! We just loved Lagos so so much! We'll definitely be going back...and will definitely stay at Dona Ana Garden!

We spent 4 nights here, in a 1 bedroom apartment in april. It was a very pleasant place- only a small complex, and the gardens were lovely, we had a tinkling fountain outside our door. Lagos is a good base from which to explore the Algarve, and quieter than the places further east. The apartment was clean, comfortable, quiet and good value. What more could you ask?

My husband and I stayed in Feb/Mar 2011 for 7 nights with our 7 month old daughter. We were in a two bedroom apartment which was kindly given to us for the price of a 1 bedroom. Owner was brilliant to deal with, very friendly and prompt email responses. Everything you need for a self-catering holiday in the beautiful western algarve. Also had a travel cot and high chair ready for our arrival which was very useful! Would recommend a hire car though as it is far from the train station and town...although walk-able would be quite a hike! also, car is a must in order to truly see the beautiful coastline and surround countryside. the only downside we encountered was that the pool was rather cool (but we do know it was only feb!) and the apartment we were in did not receive any sun from the way it was facing...but neither of these ruined our holiday. in all would highly recommend this apartment complex for families of all ages!
