“Absolutely fantastic”
Reviewed 2 August 2011

My wife and I decided to stay at 'Quinta Bonita', for our mini-moon having read some very good reviews. Chantelle & Fraser, who run this boutique hotel are very accomodating and the service is very very good. If you are looking to dine out, C&F will recommend some fantastic restaurants. These range from traditonal Portugese, pan-european and other restaurants that experiment with food and flavours.

The decor throughout Quinta is very cool, our suite was superb and the bed was so comfortable. From our balcony we had great views over Luz and the wonderful gardens below, Quinta estate has a beautiful gardens.

Situated 5mins from Lagos town centre and Luz, the far west coast of Portugal is easy to reach with spectacular places to visit.

Finally, breakfast at QB is so nice, Fraser makes his breakfast specials which one should not miss!

If you're undecided about where to stay in this area of Portugal, then don't worry about searching further and book Quinta Bonita. We stayed here for a 6 night 'minimoon' in July 2011 and all the great reviews are all to believed. Chantelle and Fraser go out of their way to ensure that your stay is nothing more than perfect - suggesting the best beaches, beautiful places to eat, and preparing the poshest and most delicious picnic hampers ever! This boutique hotel was perfect for us. The stunning little place is very tastefully decorated and stylish without any corners being cut.
We were out and about out each day so were only around for breakfast, which was perfect too. When we go back again (which we will) we'll be sure to stay for lunch or dinner as I've no doubt they will be equally fabulous.
The hotel is pretty much a child free zone as only children over 12 are permitted - so perfect for a little parent getaway retreat. We would also love to visit this area of Portugal again with our 5 year old and whilst we won't be able to stay at Quinta Bonita with him, thanks to Chantelle and Fraser we know all of the perfects places to go to and avoid when we do.

A perfect hotel run by Chantelle and Fraser. They were able to give us sensational tips on where to go during the day or simply what restaurant to go to in the evening. We also loved our pampering treatments in our room. We are definitely going back!!!!

We recently stayed for just over a week and left feeling totally relaxed - will definitely be going back. Chantelle was the "front of house" and was very friendly, helpful and informative. Riccarda who works for them, was lovely and thoughtful. The light lunches were superb - fresh and delicious, as was the evening meal (which is available only one day per week), was produced by Fraser.

The location is an easy taxi ride/drive to Lagos or Praia de Luz but we enjoyed our stay so much that we travelled around much less than intended!

The room was a good size, and very comfortable; as was the bathroom, which was tiled in a beautiful portugese style. The lounge area was relaxed and inviting and the honesty bar added to the relaxed atmosphere.

I would definitely recommend a visit.

We have just returned from a week's holiday here and loved it. The hotel is gorgeous, with huge gardens to wander about it and a lovely big pool. Our room was called Camilo and had a large balcony overlooking the pool. The room was beautifully furnished and every little detail thought of, right down to automatic black out blinds in your room if you don't want the sun to wake you up in the morning.

Breakfast is a buffet with a big choice of breads, cold meat, cheeses, fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals etc. They do dinner one night a week and If you are there that night then I would recommend you stay for it - delicious food and wines served in a beautiful setting on the terrace overlooking the gardens. They also serve lunch which was very reasonably priced and great food.

We had to drag ourselves out to explore as we were happy just laze by the pool, or sit on one of the terraces.

Chantelle, Fraser and Ricarda bent over backwards to help us - from booking restaurants and taxis to recommending places to visit. I left some clothes behind and didn't realise until Chantelle emailed me to offer to to post them to me.

I would highly recomend this hotel - luxurious but very chilled out and set in beautiful surroundings - within a short drive of Lagos and Luz.

This establishment is truly beautiful and the hosts deserve much credit for making it so and attending to the details that make a guests stay comfortable and enjoyable. However there were a few disappointing elements to our stay. Firstly, the night of our arrival we discovered when we rang the hosts for something that they were not actually in the house that we were staying in however they had not informed us of this which I think is important from even a safety perspective. The breakfast was a very limited cold buffet and a hot breakfast cost an extra €5. This should be included in the price which is already high enough for the Algarve. Everything seemed to be measured. Afternoon tea was the same (4 guests=4 small slices of cake were put out). However this was included in the price which was nice. The cover was left on the swimming pool on two days despite guests having expressed an interest in going for a swim. Quinta Bonita is more of a luxury B&B than a boutique hotel. Chantelle and Fraser were helpful but lacked a little warmth. However if guests are looking for nice comfortable accommodation they will find it here.
