Just before reaching the old fort by the harbor, there is a small parking area giving access to a beach and a scenic viewpoint over the bay from the top of the rocks. Café do Mar hides there facing the rocks, the sandy cove and Lagos bay. You may choose to sit inside away from the sun in a nicely arranged dining-room or decide to stay outside. Again you have two options there: either sit on the terrace to enjoy the view in the shade or sit on a small table right above the cliff! The staff is very friendly. You may book in advance and decide to walk to the nearby old fort before dining. Whatever you choose, prices are moderate. Wines and food are great. This is just a place to enjoy it all. Of course, they provide fish & seafood. A grilled fish of the day with fries & veggies costs about 10euros.

Oh what a lovely location and what a friendly place. Great staff, wonderful wine, fresh fish - and the biggest giant prawn I have ever seen in my life! Such a wonderful location and unpretentious surroundings with friendly staff made for a couple of great evenings in Lagos.

We have been eating here regularly since arriving in Lagos last October. When available, the roast lamb special is superb! Excellent value for money and a nice varied menu. The staff are brilliant and very helpful - add in the incredible view and what more could you ask for?

We visit Lagos 2 or 3 times a year and always make sure we visit this excellent restaurant for a couple of evening meals. It's got the lot; Exceptional quality food, fantastic service from friendly staff, fantastic views and a very friendly and professional patron, John. Do yourselves a favour and enjoy a quality evening at this great restaurant.
