From arriving at the hotel the staff were very attentive and the hotel very stylish and luxurious. The room was wonderful as was the sea view . Food was varied and of a good quality something for everyone. The entertainment was really good Only downside was no waiters in the bar on an evening which made for quite lengthy queues.

This is an adult only hotel, it's modern and has some nice design features.

We booked through Thomson. Transfer time is 1.5 hours and we had a long wait (an hour) for other passengers before leaving the airport, so be prepared with water etc.

Slight chaos on arrival as there weren't enough reception people to check on a coach load (and certainly this could be streamlined to speed this up) but a nice touch of a cool welcome drink whilst waiting.

Our room was on level 2 which is in fact the ground floor of the top pool area (there are two outdoor and one indoor pools) and we had easy access to the pool and a day bed just outside our room and a nice sea view.

There is a supermarket (basic) in the little hamlet to the left of the hotel which from memory is open 9.30am to 7p.m. this is cash only.

Negatives of the hotel:

1.aircon was poor throughout the hotel. Our room was incredibly hot despite being on the coolest setting. An engineer failed to rectify the problem in our room. The gym was unbearable. Be prepared to sweat from the heat alone.

2. Food. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. Dinner (we were on a hb package) was a buffet. Lots of fish and veal. Hot dishes were dull, repetitive and often cold. Meat was usually dry and tough. Dishes were often not labelled properly and even when wechecked if things were vegetarian (i have a fish and seafood allergy) they got it wrong! If you have allergies utensils were often used for other dishes so be warned. A plus point was that you could order a bottle wine drink over a couple of days if you wanted. Don't be tempted to try the house red, it's undrinkable.

Pluses:
1. Nice pools and facilities.
2. Clean and modern hotel with nice design.
3. Pool towels (can be replaced regularly through the day) available for free.

Slight areas for improvement:
1. Hotel staff could acknowledge guests when walking around hotel (we were often ignored).
2. Replenishment of toiletries and coffee facilities in room was a bit hit and miss.
3. Greater variety of food at the pool cafe and Italian restaurant as dishes became repetitive. Perhaps consider daily specials?

On the whole we found this to be a nice hotel representing good value for money. We would recommend it.

We are just enjoying our last night at this hotel. I am not going to moan about the toilet paper being the wrong shade of white or something similar. Most peoples comments are generally right about this hotel. The hotel is really nice clean and modern. The staff are really good and their is table service in the bar and reception area - maybe a recent improvement? The only thing that lets this hotel down is the complete lack of entertainment. I know its a 'couples' concept hotel but at night in particular the bar area is like gods waiting room. I am not ready for saga holidays just yet and do appreciate not having badly behaved kids running all over the place but after a day of lazing round the pool where incidentally you can hear a pin drop during the day I like to sit down and be entertained at night. Some nights there is a chap doing the same songs and one night we had a sax player which was ok for the first half hour but that was it. Durung the day there are a few things laid on we did a cocktail making session and Portuguese food making session both of which were good but would have been better if you could participate in the making of them. We went into Lagos a few times and found some bars near the golden church doing 50cl beers for €2 as opposed to the €4 for 40cl in the hotel. Also Lazy Jacks just across the road from Lagos train station is worth a visit. Get the train in and a taxi out as the timetable for buses and trains seems to be biased towards inbound travel. We always seemed to bump into someone staying at the hotel and shared a taxi. The number of taxis pulling up to the hotel between 11pm and midnight says it all about the evening entertainment. We did the dolphin trip and sunset trip both of which I would recommend.

This is a very stylish hotel, with great modern design in the rooms and throughout the rest of the hotel. It has a good pool area, gym and indoor pool and the beach is a 2 minute walk across a quiet road. The rooms have rain showers as well as a separate bath. The only complaint in the rooms was the air conditioning is very poor (our room never really got below 25 degrees despite the air con being on the coolest setting). The communal areas in the hotel were also too warm, with the gym being particularly warm (about 30 degrees).

The hotel has three restaurants. An Italian near the pool which serves lunch and is occasionally open for dinner as well. This food here was good although a little on the expensive side and the menu got a bit limited after a few days. There is also a a la carte restaurant, which was pretty much empty throughout our stay. The main restaurant for breakfast and, if you are on half board, dinner, is a bit of a let down, with mediocre food, repeat menus every couple of days and no table service. This is definitely not 5 star service.

A top tip is that there is a very small supermarket 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel. Walk down to the main road from the hotel, turn left and walk to the roundabout, cross the railway line and you are there. It's very basic, but has water, drinks and snacks.

Hotel looks fabulous on arrival, all staff are excellent very knowledgable and helpful could not fault them at all. The restaurant lacks any kind of atmosphere, for a couples only hotel it was not very intimate, with the tables being so close together. The food for dinner was very mundane and bland and the queues were horrendous. However they did manage to sort this out towards the end of our holiday by setting out the vegetables in a different position, this seemed to help with the queuing system. Breakfast was much better depending on what time you went. There are two times for dinner, 7 and 8.30 but you can ask for this to be changed and you do not have to be there dead on time you can go any time between 7 and 8.30 for example. There is no waiter service in the bar which is disappointing for the rating of this hotel, queues some nights were far too long so we went to one of the local bars on the beach, we certainly weren't the only ones doing this! Cheaper as well!! We also went to restaurant (Gaviata branca) for a meal one night and would highly recommend it, also made a change to be waited on!

The rooms are lovely but would benefit from having a " normal" mirror as all of them are bronze tinted. The toilet could also have a much more substantial door - didn't leave much to the imagination!!

There is a "supermarket" just down the road after the railway station which is really just someone's front room! But they have all the essentials and the water is definitely cheaper than the hotel. A lot of people complain about the tea and milk not being replenished but we had no such problem except on one occasion and we just took some tea bags at breakfast.

Overall we had a good relaxing holiday but would not return to this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a room on 0 level overlooking the beach, the patio/balcony appeared larger than those on othe...

On arriving at this "five star" hotel I was impressed with how modern and clean it was. The well appointed rooms were comfortable and the staff were pleasant and helpful.
However, the restaurant only provided "three star" quality. Canteen style dining in a "five star" hotel is not acceptable. Long queues and poorly prepared food was routine.
The entertainment was also of very poor standard and repetitive.
Fortunately, Lagos (where there is a selection of good restaurants) is only a 4 minute train journey. Buses or taxis are also an option and are very reasonably.
There is local supermarket where you can purchase water or other liquid refreshments at very good prices.
The beach bars provide a good, but basic, alternative for your dining needs.
This hotel will not be an addition to my list of hotels to revisit.

This adults only hotel on the outskirts of Lagos is amazing. From the crisp white modern reception, to the tastefully styled corridors and pools, this hotel provides the highest level of wow. We have just returned from a weeks stay here and did not want to come home! If u can tolerate a slightly longer transfer time from Faro airport, this will not disappoint. Through out our stay the cleanliness and service were faultless. Food served in all restaurants and bars was lovely and service was always with a smile. We will most def return!!
