This resort is outstanding in all respects. It is set outside of the town in a beautiful setting. There are cliff paths just outside the property that are spectacular for walking or running on. There are a number of beautiful beaches within easy walking distance including an enchanting quiet one down a path and around 200 stairs down. The property itself is very well maintained with beautiful pools and all the staff we met were very friendly, polite and very eager to help with all requests. Rooms are spacious with modern hi def TV and spacious balconies some looking out on the water. The restaurant though expensive is of outstanding quality. Breakfasts are excellent. I can't think of a nicer place to stay in Lagos. A boat tour of the caves is well worth it!

We have just returned from a 10 day holiday at Cascade.
We had an excellent time.
Our room was first class, pools were superb and food was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
We've given it 4 star as we think the hotel need to polish on a few details.
Beds round the pool are very busy - has the hotel plans to develop the gardens which are spacious but very much under used?
Staff extremely friendly but feel that they could have done with more guidance and better management.
Spa at the hotel was closed for a week and there was little information forthcoming from the management.
Reason for my review is that we had a great time at this very good hotel in the great location of Lagos. In our opinion it has the potential to become a top 5 star hotel by some work at the real details.

Room Tip: Rooms with a suite were excellent.

It was our first summer holiday since 7 years without all-inclusive package. We came to this hotel around 8:00 with our 6 years old son. From the beginning hotel makes good impression. Check in was very fast and they explained us how works hotel quickly and during our walking to the room with luggage staff he explained us more deeply in friendly way what is where and when open and close. It was really nice.
When we arrived we were a little hungry so ordered soup from room service card which works there 24 h !!! Soup was good but a little too cold if it came 5 minutes earlier it could be also better because it is only soup !!!!
Room we had apartment with two rooms where one was bedroom and living room with extra sofa which we didn't use it because our bed in bedroom was so big and in one piece. Bad was not like in other hotel even in same level two separate beds joined together. Mattress was really really really good. I never could complain for this staff. I liked it and you love it.
Bathroom there are everything you need to be fell full comfortable. Everything in our apartment was modern clean and good.
In your room you can find good coffee machine for caps and you can choose 4 types of coffee. Mini bar is well stocked and you can find there reasonable price.
WiFi there is free of charge connect ( or yo already pay for intent during you reservation ) and it works good.
Breakfast - It is besides of bathroom most important point during my decision of choosing hotel. I have read a lot of good review about that. DO NOT BELIVE OPINION about BREAKFAST.
Poor service is it best sin of this hotel. Second sin is that there is no show cooking during breakfast. If you want eat scramble eggs it is make probably from box of liquid eggs !!! fried eggs only one side and you can take from heater where eggs can stay there even .... minutes !!!! Pancakes also is made in interior kitchen but it is easy to make show cooking with 3 - 4 dishes !!!! Choice of cheese or meat or dishes side was only ok but still not 5 stars level.
WHAT DESERVES praise is choice of fruit. It is what I really liked and it was my breakfast every day with croissant and honey.
Coffee sometimes come hot sometimes only warm and you never what you got. It is only not for I pay.
Staff terrible and again terrible they are there from street roundup. They are said and I am waiting to clean my table after my first meal till and of my breakfast. So I drunk coffee with full of dirty plates around.
After our bad experience with breakfast once we decided to eat there launch and we took two salad , soup and something for our son although there was not many people it came after 20 minutes and soup was not hot. We decided to stop test their kitchen and service on us so we were disgusted already. It is really low level.
What we were positively surprised - ROOM SERVICE - Thank you to all ma'am who takes care of this job. I do not know how they knew when we left room for breakfast but when we got out of our room for breakfast they were cleaning. What our son loved ? there was evening open bed time where room service was bringing cakes and open bed for sleep. Cakes was good ( not very much ) and very day different. We spent there 9 nights.
Swimming pool was not too big and sun bed was also not too many but probably they do not need more because there was always free beds around doesn't matter what time you come. Around main swimming pool you can find Thomas who take care of swimming pool service. He is professional guy. Young clever very friendly and make good job for them.
We didn't drink there a lot but once we took Sangria drink made by THOMAS it was really good one.
Hotel has another swimming pool and kids zone but we didn't use it so I can't you tell something more. We had one contact with Tamara ( german young women ) who explained us how kids zone work and she was very friendly. Unfortunately our kid doesn't speak in english so we didn't give him there.
Hotel is very good situated and it si very close to famous beaches like Camilo Beach, Praia don Ana, Praia do porto do Mos and even it is only 1 and half kilometres by walk to old town where you can find some good restaurants.
I hope someone will read my long review and I hope it will be useful and I want that manager of this hotel also read it and look again on their breakfast because it is not good job.

This was our second visit to Cascade Resort, and we had a great time again. We stayed in a one-bed apartment, which was just as clean and well-equipped as last time.

This time we had breakfast included, and for me this was a real highlight. Everything you could possibly want was available, and available until 11am, which is great if you like a sleep-in, like me.

The food in Moods Restaurant was fantastic again, and still the same reasonable prices.

The staff were lovely, and the addition of the new barman who served drinks by the pool (Thomas) made all the difference, we loved having a natter. Somehow two of the reception staff recognised us from our last visit too, which made us smile!

The town of Lagos itself is great, so many restaurants to choose from. All of the ones we ate at were of a high quality and with reasonable prices. As we were there out of high season (late June), Cascade paid for 1 return cab journey a day, which was very much appreciated. However the fare is only 5euros each way so if you wanted to go to Lagos multiple times a day it shouldn't be too expensive.

Visiting the beach at the bottom of the cliff that the Hotel is on in an absolute must - it's stunning and when we visited it was deserted.

We would highly recommend Cascade Resort to anyone who is looking for a peaceful getaway, with easy access to a small historic town nearby with lots of restaurants to choose from, and lots of lovely beaches.

Not many Americans make it down to the Algarvae region, but we did. And among the British tourists, my wife and I ended our honeymoon down in Lagos and the Cascade Resort was perfect. Classy accommodations, spectacular grounds and pools, and proximity to hundreds of rugged hiking trails along the coast and grottoes. If you stay here, you can easily get to the hiking trails (which lead to the serene beaches and overlooks) by walking past the driving range and finding the broken fence area (seems weird, but hey, it's okay). But, please, be careful if you decide to descend down any of the cliffs to the private beaches. Resort is easy drive/bike-ride into the city centre of Lagos. Cascade staff was remarkably friendly and attentive. We visited during first week of June and weather was about 80F to 74F most days... though the week after it was only around 72F.... but, it was SUNNY the whole time.

Room Tip: They have apartments and villas. Not much difference, really. Apartments were more affordable, but y...

My boyfriend and i stayed here last June 2013 as the second part of our holiday in Portugal.
Following a busy three days in Lisbon we wanted a relaxing time whilst in Lagos and at cascade hotel we got just that.
The hotel was beautiful, our room had a great sea view and a fabulous four poster bed, the room was a good size and had a lovely bathroom . The service at the resort was well delivered and the staff were all helpful and informative.
With two clean pools and a delicious restaurant the hotel provided great facilities including the spa.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely would go back.

Room Tip: defintely worth the extra charge for a sea room

My wife and I stayed here mid May 2014 We hired a car in Faro and drove across to Lagos, which was very easy. We were welcomed at the resort by hotel staff who checked us in and explained everything about the facilities and showed us to our villa. I must say the staff were excellent, from the reception staff, the cleaning ladies and the staff in the bars and restaurants, all very attentive, and nothing was too much trouble for them.

The facilities and the complex itself are wonderful, and very new. The complex is situated a small distance away from Lagos town, but only a 5 or 10 minute drive away. I mentioned we hired a car, and I must say, this really added to or stay as there is not much in the way way of facilities in the immediate area that you can access by foot, although the Cascade resort give you a complimentary return taxi ride a day, the car gives you the freedom to get out and explore the surrounding coastline, and the lovely little towns and villages in the Western Algave.

As I mentioned we stayed here in mid May, and at that time the Dutch football team were also staying and using the training facilities prior to the World Cup in Brazil. I'm not sure if this was the reason for the low occupancy around the complex at that time, as well as it not being peak season, but it did lack a little life at times around the complex , although this may have been planned to accommodate the needs of their guests from the Netherlands.

All in all, I would thoroughly recommend the Cascade resort, and would definitely consider visiting again in the future, this is a good place for couples or families with small children.
