This really is a great way to spend a couple hours! There were fewer than ten of us on our trip - all speaking different languages, but the staff did a great job communicating with all of us. Our hotel booked the trip for us and called us a cab to take us to the marina. The cabbie gave good directions to the Bom Dia kiosk. Friendly girl checked us in and gave us directions to the precious sailboat that we took to the grottos - dragging the dinghy behind us. Beautiful day! I asked if the water was always as calm about the time one of the staff was starting to apologize for the rough water. ;) We sailed up (possibly down) the coast for a while and off loaded into the dinghy to go into the grottos. All went smoothly. It seemed like to me that we got to go into all of the grottos. It was just a beautiful day and lovely to be on the water. Water was too cold for any of us to venture in, but no one seemed disappointed. Wish I could be in Lagos right now! Would absolutely recommend this little excursion!

We arrived at the Marina's Bom Dia meeting place to be told our 4 hour trip wouldn't be as planned due to the heavy sea swell therefore we wouldn't get to visit the caves. We boarded the sailing boat at 1pm and set off into a very swollen Ocean - luckily I'd taken my travel pills, those who obviously hadn't soon turned green ! We sailed to a beach dropped anchor and were invited to swim, some did. We stayed at this location for ages while they killed time, we couldn't visit the beach for the BBQ for some unknown reason as the sea was very calm where we were ?! So the chicken & salad was served on board - It was extremely nice, large portions with seconds offered which we accepted. The wine was very nice too, but we can't comment on the Cocktail as we didn't get offered one as promised in the blurb ! Eventually the anchor was raised and off we set around a bay, past lots of very nice yachts then slowly back to Lagos again. Bom Dia can't be blamed for the sea conditions but we were a little annoyed they'd obviously been aware of the sea swell at the time we booked - instead of charging 49 euros each they dropped it very slightly ! Although we enjoyed the trip in beautiful hot weather and lots of time to build up the tan - a dark cloud on the experience was their lack if honesty ... 80 euros in total was a lot to pay for a boat trip minus the cave experience or beach ... I'll let them off over the cocktail. I would recommend this boat trip but at the same time urge tourists to be careful - what they sell isn't always what you get.

This was one of the highlights of our holiday in Lagos. We booked the two hour grotto trip, you start off in a large sailing boat which travels down the coast and anchors at sea, you can swim from the boat if you wish. The voyage is relaxing and drinks can be purchased (we had cocktails). The staff were lovely and provided lots of information about the surroundIng area. You then transfer to a small boat which can navigate the grottoes. The perfect way to spend a few hours on a sunny day.

Travelling in a wonderful, Portuguese sailing boat, we joined 20 others on a beautiful sail along the coastline west of Lagos. The sun was hot, the cliffs looked stunning, and the water visibility was around 15-20 metres. Perfect! Over the next 4.5 hours we relaxed, sunbathed, and even got a chance to cool off in the sea. We stopped close to the fascinating, fragmented coves and grottos of Ponte da piedade where we anchored up. We then went to visit the cliffs in a smaller boat, hearing the names given to the different grottos by fishermen and spotting birds from Kestrels to Swifts, as well as the nesting Yellow-legged Gulls. When we got back to the main boat we enjoyed a traditional Portuguese chicken dinner and relaxed further with some wine! The staff were very friendly, helpful, and always made sure we were comfortable and having a lovely time. It felt like they were enjoying being there too which makes a difference. Earlier that day we also took a boat out with the same company to go dolphin watching - we had wonderful views of a school of Common Dolphins, females with their newly-born young! We also spotted some flying fish, Gannets, Cory's Shearwaters and a Balearic Shearwater. A brilliant and relaxing day all round.

We booked a 4 hour bottom fishing trip with Bom Dia but they didn't have a boat going out for fishing so they checked with Pescamar and were booked in for thursday morning. Our skipper Jacko and his mate Rodriguez were very helpful and baited our hooks every time we caught a fish. We caught several bream, wrasse, a spider fish( which was detached from the line with a pair of tongs) and an octopus, all in all a good mornings fishing. The cost was 45 euros for 4 hours and 3 euros for the license with tackle and bait supplied but if you want to eat or drink take your own. This was a present for my husbands birthday and we both enjoyed the trip.
