Third trip to the Algarve and it is definitely the highest standard of accomodation. Found staff to be pleasant and helpfull. Location ideal. Took tips from other Tripadvisor users on restaurants, facilities, the do's and dont's and we were delighted. We had our fourteen year old with us for the week so we took in Splide and Splash waterpark (25 minutes away and also a boat trip from Marina. Also think the end of June/ start of July was a perfect time.

Second hols here, last visited in Sept 2010. Dont usually go back to same place but enjoyed ourselves last time so came back for more.
We love the freedom this accom gives us. Large rooms, kitchen if u want to use it, great view if u choose that option & good pool.
Brilliant location on the marina, a couple of bars & restaurants close by, & short walk into unspoilt Lagos with a brilliant choice of places to eat.
Oh & a super uncommercial beach another short walk away. Pingo supermarket close by for really good food & drink. Perfect !!!

Stayed 5 nights with my fiancee at end of May looking for a nice spot to sun ourselves during the day and eat well and sip a few cocktails by night. Chose hotel based on trip advisor reviews and they are all spot on in my opinion. We got an upgrade (I think-as noted by others the reception staff are not the most forthcoming!) to an apartment suite-a 'double' bedroom (2 singles clumsily pushed together!) with a spacious kitchen/living area with 2 huge sofa-come-spare beds. I think we paid about 450 pounds. Got everything we had expected from the numerous existing reviews and no real major gripes but a few observations below:
PROS.
Ideal location. Right on marina (bars and restaurants aplenty), 10 minute stroll to beach, 10 minute stroll to old town.
Spotlessly clean.
Nice bar/waiting staff.
Great pool area for sun worshippers (did notice no life guard-not sure if that is common place.) Spotless like rest of hotel.
CONS. (NB: Mostly minor quibbles)
Two singles beds pushed together rather than double as booked.
No tv in main bedroom.
Thin curtains don't make for great lie-ins!
WiFi extremely temperamental.
Reception staff not the most friendly/helpful.

My husband and I stayed here with our 9 month old for a week in mid May and had a very pleasant stay. We stayed in a pool/marina view, one-bedroom apartment inc. breakfast. It wasn't cheap (the higher end of the hotels on this site) so I was expecting a lot, to be honest, and perhaps I was a little disappointed about some aspects of the hotel, considering the price we paid, but overall we had a nice stay.

On a positive note, the apartment was modern, spacious and SPOTLESS. This was great considering our son decided to start crawling while we were there! We were very happy with the view from our balcony, which again was important to us since we would be spending quite a lot of time at night in the apartment. Be warned though...I did hear a number of people complaining to the reception staff about the view from other rooms. (If you don't specifically ask and pay extra for a pool/marina view, chances are you'll be overlooking the car park!

Another positive aspect of the Marina Club is the location. It is merely a two-minute walk from restaruants and bars in the marina area and a short five-minute walk from the historic centre of Lagos which has no shortage of shops, restaurants and cafes. And it is just far enough away from the action to be nice and quiet at night too.

Now for the negatives...
Firstly, the staff on the reception desk were not at all friendly or approachable. They weren't necessarily rude but they certainly didn't seem like they would be willing to go the extra mile! A smile, at times, proved difficult for them! At one point, I rang reception to request an iron and ironing board (nor an unreasonable request, surely?) and was told that there was no ironing board available but that there may be one available the following day(???). I was told that if I wanted the iron I would have to come down to reception to pick it up myself! This from a supposedly four star hotel?

Secondly, even though we requested a double room, we got two single beds pushed together. This was a little disappointing. We didn't bother asking for another room becasue we were happy with all other aspects of the apartment but it would have been nice to have had a double, or at least two singles that zipped together and didn't end up separating while you slept!

Finally, the breakfast was a little disappointing and definitely not worth the extra supplement. If I was to stay here again I would make the short trip around the corner to the marina area where you can pick up a cheap and tasty breakfast and, more importantly, a decent coffee!

All in all though, we had a lovely stay and we would be happy to return based on its location and the cleanliness of the apartment. Who knows, maybe the staff will cheer up when the season gets into full swing!

Excellent location, walking times: 10min from beach, 10-15min from center of Lagos, 10min to Pingo Doce supermarket, 5min to bars at Marina.
Rooms are clean, kitchen well equipped, as others mentioned before, it's worth to get upgrade to swimming pool/marina view.
Swimming pool area nice, lots of shade, clean, well maintained, nice area for children,

MINUS
Shower not too handy and water went everywhere.
WIFI available but not reliable at all, sometimes it worked most of the times it didn't
The 3rd and 4th extra beds are the living room sofas, not in separate room, unless you get the suites appartment.

Room Tip: Ask for pool/marina view, 2nd or 3rd floor

Hotel is a lovely modern clean building.
Rooms are nice & bright & have everything you need. Beds are a little on the hard side. But I'm 5.5 months pregnant & I managed to sleep just fine.
We didn't have a view of the Marina this would have cost us an extra € 25.00 a night (€175) in total & it just didn't seem worth it. But we had the sun on our Balcony in the morning which was lovely.
Its a 10 minute walk to the big beach,
A 20 minute walk to the smaller beach,
A 10 minute walk into the old town,
A 5 minute walk to the Pingo D which is a large super market which I found to be quite cheap for the basics we bought.
There are loads of bars & restaraurts around the Marina as well.
All in all the Hotel & the Location gave us everything we wanted & was exactly what we had expected.

we found this to be an excellent hotel in a good location on the marina. the rooms in the apartment were generous in size though we were glad that we had upgraded to a Marina View apartment. We would recommend that an apartment on the 3rd floor be obtained if possible to maximise the view and to enjoy the evening sunshine and sunset from the balcony. The hotel was spotless and the staff very helpful, cheerful and efficient. We greatly enjoyed breakfast but the normal tariff at 10.5 euros is quite high. We negotiated a special rate on the basis that we would have breakfast every day and felt we had a really good breakfast for the money.

The hotel is about 15 minutes to the town centre and 10 minutes to nearest beach. there are a number of excellent beaches at the resort but we would recommend a car to obtain the full benefit as public transport is not too satisfactory. The old town is very interesting and pleasant with many very good restaurants. To eat it is not necessary to go into the town as there are good eateries at the marina.

Lagos is a good base provided you have a car.

An excellent holiday.

Room Tip: if driving dont go to CENTRO. roads are narrow!
