This our second visit to this hotel and won't be our last. The staff are so friendly and accommodating nothing is too much trouble. All the rooms are gorgeous and spotlessly clean. We stayed in the main building last year and had a modern room this year and it was just as nice. The breakfasts are to die for and I have to stop myself from eating too many cakes!! Location is perfect as its just a 10 minute walk to city centre and very close to nice beaches. Love Lagos and this hotel makes the holiday :-)

We have just returned from a week's stay at Dom Manuel and would most definitely recommend:
The room was spacious, spotlessly clean. lovely bedding - monogrammed! - and changed regularly! Small fridge in room and tea/coffee making facilities, safe too! Plenty of hangers (makes a change), and drawer space. Library with selection of books.

From the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble - when I could not get the hairdryer to work on the first morning, I rang Reception, and Oksana (so sorry if spelt incorrectly!) came up straight away! Service with a smile every day!

The breakfast was superb!... again wonderful service and food from the delightful, Katia (muchisimas gracias!!). Her chocolate cakes were delicious! Plenty of choice - selection of fresh fruit, yoghurt, home made pastries, jams, and all beautifully presented and replenished. (Breakfast was from 8 - 11am - great for those wanting a lie in!).

As our flight was not until early evening, we were offered secure storage for luggage (check out not until 12 noon), and bathroom/shower/changing facilties... again, nothing too much trouble.

Beach towels are available from the hotel.. so no need to take any! (just small deposit which is returned when you return the towels).

We normally stay at the other side of Lagos, (Marina), but next time we will definitely be returning to Dom Manuel! Great location... supermarket across the road, bus stop, and choice of restaurants within walking distance.. our favourite was "Alma Lusa"!!
Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Room Tip: Book Room on first floor for sun in afternoon, or upgrade to junior suite. Rooms across the road at...

We absolutely loved our time at Dom Manuel. The hotel is picturesque with a beautifully decorated bar area. The rooms are spacious, they all have a small balcony. Breakfast buffet is delicious as are the cocktails. The hotel is a short walk into town, maybe 10 minutes so great location too. All in all loved everything about this hotel, lagos and out trip!

We stayed here very recently for a week. We were upgraded to a junior suite at the top of the building which overlooked the pool. The balcony had both sun and shade throughout the day. We down rated the pool mainly as it is very small; it is well kept and well planted. Cleanliness throughout the hotel is excellent; the staff more than helpful. Breakfast was first rate. We would return.

In comparing this Residence (it is not a Hotel) is difficult. We normally stay in a different Hotel cum Bed and Breakfast but they couldn't accomodate us as they had a big party staying, but I shall try.
We found the Residence cold and inhospitable,it would appear that the staff wanted you out of the building asap. The maids were making so much noise cleaning the rooms that it was impossible to sleep past 0745.The room was large and overlooked the pool but the rumble of suitcases passing by was annoying as was the clang of the metal gate that was the entrance/exit to the annexe.
The breakfast was superb, mostly home cooked pastries etc ( sweet tooth fiends note ).The pool was for show really, small and ornamental, not for swimming and as the Residence has 48 rooms and only 11 sun loungers speaks volumes, will we return? maybe,it is obvious that the management want the guests out of the way asap so they can get on with the work.

Room Tip: Rooms 23,24,25,26 get most sun and overlook the pond

We have just returned from a wonderful stay in this hotel. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and the breakfasts were lovely with lots of variety. An excellent base to visit his part of the Algarve.

We stayed here for three nights in March 2014. We had a junior suite overlooking the pool. The room was large, comfortable and clean. The hotel is a bit of a walk to the Old Town, but that means it is quiet. The breakfast was first rate as well. I can't say enough about the staff. They are excellent and very helpful. We will stay here again.
