I would definitely recommend this place, the staff is absolutely fantastic the most helpful I have ever come across. Perfect location to beach, restaurants and nightlife. It really is like one big family there and there is genuine care that their guests have a good time and a comfortable stay. Loved it!

After travelling for 15months, I came across another gem in shangri lagos. They have the perfect balance of chilled and lively. In the day its a perfet relax haven and at night its fantastic to meet others and have a few drinks before hitting the town. The staff ..... wow their just awesome, helped me out of a very sticky situation and are always happy smiley and chatty. Perhaps the best hostel staff ive met travelling. Its one of those places that instantly becomes your home and can quickly turn into an extended stay before you extend again and again. Anyone who goes to lagos should stay here its just got it. and when they open the rooftop which is currently being worked on it will get even better. Location is also perfect. FANTASTIC!

This hostel has a good location in the old town of Lagos, close to the beaches and bars. I stayed here for three nights and had a good stay with many new friends. In the evenings we all hang out in their garden before we went out to night clubs together! The staff is awesome and they cook dinner every night that you can buy for 5 €. They also offer breakfast (toast with ham, cheese marmelade, nutella etc and cearials) The only negative thing I have to say is that the facilitation as showers and toilets aren't the best.

My sister and I stayed at this hostel in May, we originally had wanted to stay at the rising cock but were discouraged due to the exorbitant nightly rates. Our second choice happened to be Shangri-lagos and all I can say is that I am very very very glad we stayed here. The atmosphere is so chilled out and relaxed, all the staff we met were so wonderful, Will, Ana, Trish, and all the other staff were so warm and welcoming and I honestly could have stayed here forever!

I came to Lagos in the offseason, the last week of November, so the atmosphere in town and in the hostel was probably quite different than in the summer, but it was still one of the best hostels I've stayed at! To be honest, it was mostly the people I met (the staff and other travelers) that made the experience so positive, but that also says something for the type of people it attracts, which isn't inconsequential.

I stayed here for 4 nights, including Thanksgiving, which we cooked in the hostel and shared with 12 people, from 12 different countries. It was all I could have asked for as the sole American and was one of the best nights of my 3 weeks in Portugal and Spain. The hostel is a 15 minute walk from the bus station, and very close to the beaches and anything you could need in town. The owner and all the staff were exceedingly nice, helpful, friendly, generous, and fun to hang out with! My only complaint is that is was very cold, but this is the case with all hostels/hotels in Lagos in the winter, since none of them have heating. The facilities were great...nothing super fancy, but very very comfortable and livable. A very homey atmosphere that made me want to hang out there and cook in the kitchen, etc. Also, there were shutters in the room so it was nice and dark all night and through the morning, which made for the best nights of sleep of my whole trip.

There's also an awesome courtyard and rooftop, ideal for quiet time in the sun without having to walk to the beach! Tv, games, movies, books, computer (sporadic wifi while I was there), but really nothing more to ask for. Great included breakfast too. Highly recommend!

I stayed at this hostel for 6 nights in August 2013 and was welcomed by the most amazing staff! From the check in staff to the night guard and the mumsie of the house. The highlight of my experience was not only the fantastic location, the chilled out common room outside or the relaxing feel. The highlight of my time was the in house chef Josh. He made amazing dinners every night for the hostel for only €5 we had carbonara and garlic bread, Chicken parmigianas with amazing lemon salt potatoes and the best hamburgers. It felt like home but with restaurant quality food. Will be returning in the next year definitely and hope Josh and the rest of the Shangri crew are there!!! Great work guys fantastic Hostel!!!!
