We were renting a three bedroom apartment, outside the main building of the hotel; there was no mention about the number of the bathrooms in the apartment on www.booking.com and we were positively surprised that there were two. Our apartment had a balcony and a terrace, but because of the winds it was impossible to enjoy it. The hotel is located very close to the Porto de Mos beach, but is quite far from the centre of Lagos and was quite inconvenient to come back to the hotel late at night. Also he hotel is far from Dona Ana beach, which is one of the best beaches I've been to.

Otherwise, the staff is very nice and helpful; the rooms are clean, spacious, but minimal. I think this is a very good place for families with little kids, as it has nice garden and a swimming pool.

We went in April so it was fairly chilly (still sunny) around but blissfully quiet. I got the feeling that the Algarve probably fills up with a lot of British/German people in the summer months, burning themselves to a crisp in the baking Portuguese sun.

The pool was great and I don't care that a seagull was swimming in it, that was just funny.

It was a little bit of a walk from the marina but that's counter balanced by the fact it's on a really nice beach. Their buffet dinner wasn't exactly fantastic either - go to the beachfront restaurants instead, they are bloomin' fantastic.

We stayed in Vila Mos in August 2013 for the last four days of a two week stay in the area. We arrived at the hotel at 10 am after leaving our original accommodation, we know that check in is normally at 2pm so were expecting to have to hang around with the kids until then. However we met a smiling receptionist called Dores who understood our dilemma and said "I'll see what I can do". True to her word she did and we were given keys at 11.30 which meant that we could move in and still make the beach early, thanks to Dores.

The apartment was very spacious with three bedrooms (one en suite), a large living room and kitchen. The rooms are a little dated but are clean, comfortable spacious and welcoming. Furniture is provided for the veranda outside. All of the rooms have AC which was very welcome. Our living room had a large sliding door which led to the veranda and created a very open, relaxing space. The beach is about a five minute walk along a track at the side of the hotel. Beach is very good, with plenty of activities, a bar/restaurant and beds for rent.

The staff here were great, on one occasion we needed information about local transport to Alvor, we approached Luis at reception and once again he went out of his way to help us. There was a problem with the key pad on our front door, the the maintenance staff were down in a short time and fixed the problem. We needed extra bedding materials in our room and the cleaning lady organised that for us with no fuss. On our last morning we decided to have breakfast at the hotel and went to the restaurant which was quite busy so we had to wait for a little while to get seated, it was no big deal but about two hours later I happened to meet one of the restaurant waiters in another part of the hotel, he stopped me and apologised that we had to wait earlier!!!! All of the above examples of our positive interactions with staff were the difference that made the difference in this hotel. Would we return, definitely, so long as they have staff like the ones that we met, well done all and thanks for making our stay enjoyable

Pleasant resort with lovely staff.
Not convenient to Lagos Town - 30 minute walk - in 30 degrees.  But 10 minutes to the nearest beach. Great big room 507.  Sea view from the terrace and grass outside. Great pool and loungers with the bar close by. Lovely staff in the bar and restaurant.
€15 buffet dinner made an easy choice for the first night. Casa do Pintor for the second night because you have to book but it is worth it.
€145 a night is too much.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my husband, as a late anniversary get away!!! On arrival we found the receptionist to be quite helpful, we was given our key cards an off we went, our room was very big for just the two of us, nice an clean also a bottle of wine on the table! Although we didn't drink it as it was a bit vinegary!!!! We headed down to the pool/bar area an found the staff really friendly, especially Bruna! Lovely young girl who couldn't do enough for us, she actually made our holiday one to remember, all the staff were really pleasant an happy.
The pool area was lovely, nice an quiet, lots of beds to choose from each day,
We had food in the restaurant but we found it a bit bland/boring! But it did us, a bit expensive too for what it is,
We ate most of the time at the bar pizzas, salads, baguettes etc which were really nice!
The buy one get one free cocktail between 12-5 were lovely too.
I think the only downfall to this hotel is location, there isn't much near by, but shops/beach are within walking distance.
We went to the marina on our last day to try 'days of adventure' there are lots of things to choose from quads, boat trips, dolphins boat trips, caves an I think a few more we did the quads! 45€ each but well worth it! Got to see some beautiful views and some local information also seen some wildlife! Would definitely recommend days of adventure!
All in all a good hotel.

Just back from a week long stay at the Vila Mos.
Pros:
1. Good size rooms
2. Excellent housekeeping.
3. Great quality of linen and laundry.
4. Decent amenities with good garden area for children to play.

Cons:
1. Very poor attitude shown by the receptionist (I think the lady called Doris). Rude, disengaging and unhelpful.
2. Quality of breakfast ok, lack of variety, (considering you are staying for a week).
3. Location was a bit far away from the amenities, especially when you are staying in a self catering.

Our room was really lovely and absolutely huge- we booked a one bedroom apartment for two people and had a lot more space than we have done in the past in similarly sized hotels. Despite not paying for a view we had a beautiful view across the pool and down to the sea.The pool area and reception were also very nice, though the pool wasn't heated. The hotel had a tennis court which we enjoyed (5 euros) though it wasn't particularly well maintained. The room was cleaned twice in a 6 night stay which was enough for us. Wifi was available for free in reception.

However, the location was poor. The website claimed it was a 15 minute walk from Lagos centre, yet it was 35 minutes in reality. We took a taxi once which we were told would be 5euros, but cost us 9. The hotel has no shop- the nearest small shop is a 10 minute walk away. However, it is a 5/10 minute walk down to the beautiful porto mos beach, which has two restaurants (campi mar was particularly good).

We had dinner in the restaurant once and lunch in the bar once. Both were ok; nothing special but convenient.

I would stay here again if I just wanted to relax by the pool or local beach, or if I had a car. The hotel was very good value for money.

Room Tip: Room 305 was quiet and had a nice view
