Our room was located in a separate building, 50 m far from the main office. It was spacious enough and clean. Bath room had a good size too. The only minus point would be the two single beds instead of a double.
There is a swimming pool allocated for this building.
The breakfast was good too. Lots of choice and also some local products. Staff was pleasant and helpful.
Parking and wifi free.

After a few days in Madeira we embarked on another area called Lagos. We had to take the train which wasn’t terrible, but it was really loaded with passengers, stiflingly hot and the train was old and dirty - an unfortunate start to a trip to another destination. Upon arrival at Lagos we were pleased to see such a charming seaside town. We took cabs to our pre booked location, the “Costa D’Oiro Ambiance Village.” This hotel features houses with multiple rooms in each one. There is a restaurant by the pool down the street which is where our breakfast is served. The rooms are well kept and clean with a little pool in the backyard and we have an adorable little patio leading to it. The town has a nice square with many places to enjoy a drink or eat and shop. We felt totally safe and comfortable as the Portugese people are extremely hospitable. The breakfast at the hotel was laid out buffet style. There was quite an arrangement of things to choose from and we were very satisfied with this meal. I can’t comment on other meals at this restaurant as we ate at the square every day but I will say everything looks and smells good there when I was there during a meal service. I know some people were complaining at the distance they had to walk to get from their room to the restaurant for breakfast, trust me.. its only a 3 minute walk at best, not far at all. The trip to Lagos turned out to be an excellent destination that you need to add to your itinery. Despite the unsavory train trip on the way up, the train back was much cleaner and relaxing. One extra note: the Manager knew we were trying to get cabs to bring us to the train station but the cabs were late. In order to help us, she took the company van and delivered us and all our bags to the train station. If it wasn’t for her, we would’ve missed our train for sure. A special thanks to her!

We booked a studio for four nights in June. Room was very basic but had a nice kitchenette that was very useful. The room did not look anything like the pictures on the website - it was very plain and seemed a bit dated. The toilet made a very loud noise for about 3 minutes after you flushed it, and the walls were very thin so you heard everything that was happening in the neighbouring rooms. Instead of a double bed, we had two single beds stuck together, which was quite uncomfortable. This did not feel like a four star hotel - it was much closer to a 2.5 star (in my opinion). If my expectations weren't so high, I would have been less dissapointed.

The pool was very nice and the lounge area was quite attractive. My main complaint would be the location, it was a little too far from the old city if you don't have a car. The walk to the city centre is about 20-25 minutes, and is quite desolate at night. My girlfriend really disliked the walk, because the city centre is where most of the nightime fun is in Lagos. Walking back at 12am was almost creepy, because there was no one else around and the hotel is close to several abandoned buildings.

On the plus side, the cleaning staff was very attentive and the hotel was very close to a wonderful beach. This is not a great hotel for young people who like to enjoy the nightlife Lagos has to offer, but it is a decent value for families with a car who like to spend the majority of their time lounging around the pool. I did not try to the breakfast or purchase any meals from the restaurant, but from what I saw they looked quite nice.

It is an reasonable value if you don't expect too much, but do not stay here if you want to explore Lagos without a car.

nice and cosy hotel with all the amenities you need for a perfect vacation! clean well kept garden, friendly staff and enough privacy. not to forget extremely tasty breakfast at the pool. they only need to buy a new coffee machine (long lines at breakfast). free wifi for the internet addicts. we would definitely recommend staying there!

Excellent location for the two prettiest beaches Praia D'ana and Praia D'Oimbro, both a 5 min walk. Also within walking distance of Point de Piedades. The walk to town was fine for me but I imagine some might find it too hot and tiring.
Excellent grounds and well maintained pools. The room was very clean and kitchen well equipped. I have tried to load photos but it keeps freezinf so my review is also getting shorter!
Overall recommended (I had a massive suite which would be great for a family to stay in).
Restaurant food was better than town but a but pricier as one would expect.
Lagos is a lovely quiet and relaxing place to stay - take a visit to the other beach Porto de Mos -fantastic!

We were in Portugal on our honeymoon and stayed for three days in Lagos in Costa D'Oiro Ambiance Village. This is actually the first time I feel like writing smth nice about the place we have been to. Certainly, Lagos itself is a really interesting and romantic place, but choosing this hotel is probably accounted for 1/3 of our successful trip. The villa itself looks good and nice and romantic. The room we were staying in was big and really clean (nothing to complain about!), with a nice terrace near the swimming pool. Good breakfast. But the main feature is that the personnel is friendly and helpful in all ways. Not like "american" style with big smiles, but nothing behind. I mean they actually helped us with all our requests and problems and you feel like they are trully interested. The hotel is close (5 min. walking) to a beatiful beach and about 15 min. away from famous cliffs Ponta Pedaide. We felt that city centre was easily accessible and it was not a problem to walk there for supper (though villa has a nice restaurant). Thanks for a pleasant stay!

First of all we got off to a bad start. We spent hours online trying to find a suitable hotel in the Lagos area. We booked apx 2 months in advance. We read the reviews from tripadvisor.

The hotel was a little hard to find. We arrived and there were no problems checking in. We were very dissapointed with the room we got. It was very clean, however this was the only good thing about it. It was very small, had only a shower (no bath), was very dark and had little privacy, we felt very exposed. As stated when we booked, we were given a terrace. The terrace was very small, only enough room to 'get in' to your seat if you wanted to eat.

This would have been ok for us had we not spent apx 75Euros a night for the room. We could have quite easily got this standard in the center of Lagos much cheaper.

The room we were given was not that expected of a 4* hotel.

We brought our concerns to reception and they informed us that the hotel was fully booked but they would try and do their best. Early on they only were able to suggest that we move to their 'sister' hotel which would be apx 2.5km from the town or the beach (ideally you need a car). We would not accept this as we wanted to stay in Lagos. The staff were then able to leave us in the room over night and asked us to come back the following morning. We went back and to our amazement they had managed to find us a nice room in the complex.

The room we were given was everything we expected. It had a nice modern bathroom, modern bedroom with nice decor and a renovated feel. The main thing that this room had which we felt we needed were the balcony (nice modern, wood with lots of room) and a microwave (as there was no oven). We also had a bath too. None of these features were anything close in the other room.

Overall we had a fantastic stay. I think its only fair to warn other readers that this hotel does not have equal rooms.

The staff on the otherhand very very helpful. They did everything they could and were very friendly. The staff offer a 5* service, its just a shame that the hotel does not in every room.

The location of the hotel is good too, its a fairly long walk to town (15mins) but there is a lot of bars and shops on the way so the hotel is not 'in the middle of nowhere' which is what we expected. There some nice beaches nearby.

TIP: rent a car and visit the west coast of portugal, it has 100% sand beaches and giant waves!!!
