This is the traditional and historic fish market, local farmers also come here to sell their produce with stalls spilling out over the surrounding streets. An additional attraction for bikers is that this location appears to be a gathering point for the M/C fraternity and you can frequently see some of the classic British bikes such as Triunmph, BSA and Royal Enfield.

The market offers very good selection of fruit and vegetables as well as local goods such as honey and pottery. Good clean toilets- always a good selling point. Only a short walk from the gypsy market and well worth the effort. Plentiful cafes to refresh yourselves.

Lovely town steeped in history and a nice break from Vilamoura that is a purpose built resort. The market was nice and worth visiting but you have to be there in the morning as they start to shut at lunchtime. Very friendly people who made us welcome. The prices in the cafes were incredibly cheap compared to Vilamoura. - Beer/coffee with a toastie and side salad 2.50 euros!!

If you are visiting Albufeira, please take the half day trip to Loule for the Saturday market. This town is an unspoilt gem. I know most people go for the gypsy market, but the local farmers market in the town centre is amazing. The produce is fresh from the fields (or the sea) and the fruit and veg is massive by comparison to ours in the UK. Also bakery, flowers, spices and local crafts. So much to see and very, very reasonable. It has become a 'must do' for us every visit and is only about 7 euros each. There is a very handy cafe where the coach stops and picks up and it is also reasonably priced with great cakes.

Loule is a must to visit if in Algarve. The market is full of stalls serving local produce of every description and of the highest quality together with pottery and other craft products.
On a Saturday there is an outer area selling fresh produce of every description.
Superb shops in Town together with other places of interest including restaurants etc.
Unfortunately at the present time and for next couple of months some parts of the town centre are undergoing many pavement repairs spread around making it somewhat awkward to explore.
Well worth a visit
