Had an amazing stay at the Jupiter Marina.. rooms, staff and facilities were all excellent, we couldn’t find fault with any of it. Breakfast was extremely good with plenty of choic. Thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Portugal. We will definitely be returning.

This is a very new hotel and as such most of it is in excellent condition. I think the pros and cons are as follows:
PROS:
Very helpful staff, most of whom speak good English ( which helped as my Portuguese in nil!)
Excellent breakfast selection, which is kept replenished throughout.
Good size carparking with secure gated access.
Good size rooms which were kept clean and tidy by the housekeeping staff.
Free coffee/juice/water available in reception
Free shuttle bus to Praia da Rocha for beach - otherwise it is 20-25 min walk.

CONS
Location is on outskirts of Portimao - it is 15-20 minutes walk to main Portimao restaurants and 20 minutes to Praia da Rocha restaurants.
The upgraded rooms on the front of the hotel are directly above the main road, which makes them noisy when sitting on the balcony or with the balcony doors open
The 'river view' is also partly obscured by the derelict and overgrown remains of a church and monastery opposite.
The 1 euro charge to muse the coffee machine in the room.
Car parking on site is charged at 6 or 9 euros a day dependent on season
The top floor outside pool is a magnet for the local seagulls seeking washing facilities, but the storks building a nest on the chimney in the carpark provided an interesting spectacle.

When we mentioned constant music across the entire area on the open top floor, ( bar, pool and relaxation area) they said others had spoken about this and then switched off the speakers outside of the bar area, which was a good response from the staff.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front of the hotel get sun in the morning and those at the rear of the hotel get in in the afternoon/evening

Dear Bagabargain,
Thank you for taking the time to submit such a detailed review about your recent stay with us. It is a true pleasure to pass on your comments to the entire team which is working hard on exceeding all our guests’ expectations.

We embraced a huge challenge when transforming the ruin of the old Can Factory, Facho, into this 4-star hotel. From the hotel, you can see the lovely Arade River descending from the mountains and the historical monument right across the street - São Francisco Convent which is a 16th-century architectural complex. It is currently a property of public interest in Portimão, but it is owned privately and there is no visitors access.
All rooms have a complimentary coffee machine with coffee and tea capsules. The Superior rooms, Deluxe, and Suites have these items free of charge with daily refilling during all stay.
Once again thank you so much for sharing your experience with us and we do hope to welcome you back soon.

Kind regards,
Elsa Azevedo

Lovely hotel with very helpful friendly staff. Breakfast was very good and the staff worked hard to make sure everything was filled up. Hotel provided a free bus service into Player de Rocher and got us a taxi at a very good rate that took us to Alvor (our driver Volter was brilliant and very friendly) For us, it was just a little too far from bars , restaurants and shops, BUT overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel

Beautifully put together hotel, immaculately kept.
Staff some of the friendliest and most helpful we’ve come across.
2 min taxi to restaurants and bars or 10 min walk.
Lovely rooftop pool.
Only negative is the road noise on the marina side rooms. If you live in London it probably won’t bother you but coming from the sticks it was too noisy to sleep with the balcony doors open.
Really good breakfast.
Rooms smallish but really well equipped.
Will definitely be back for a short adult only break.
