Wonderfully situated among the orchards, farms and quiet countryside but close to gorgeous beaches and the authentic old world town of Silves, this charming B&B could not have been better in anyway. Les and Mary were so kind and helpful. They know the area, culture and local venues so well and make great recommendations. Loved the whole experience.

A beautiful B&B in a stunning setting, not too big, hosts are very friendly and helpful without being over bearing, pool is lovely with amazing views, breakfast is yummy and friendly and so much better than the usual hotel break fasts. A perfect place to unwind but if you feel adventurous there are lovely walks in the hills and places to explore nearby. There is a BBQ at the B&B if you fancy eating in. Not somewhere to go if you are expecting lots of night time activity and buzz but perfect for chilling!

We have been going to Duas Quintas for 4 years and will be returning for the 5th year in 2015. Mary and Les make our stay as they are so welcoming and friendly Mary always serves a superb breakfast. The en suite rooms are very clean and in excellent decor. A lovely place to stay with lovely pool, gardens and views.

My husband and I stumbled on Duas Quintas 5 years ago as newlyweds when living in Portugal. We returned with family and friends throughout the year and anxiously awaited our next visit. As many have mentioned in prior posts, Mary and Les create a memorable experience with the plethora of advice they willingly offer and divine surroundings they work so hard to maintain. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the pool is refreshing, the breakfast Mary makes is unparalleled and Duas Quintas is the perfect retreat from the beaches of the Algarve regardless of the time of year.
Fast forward 5 years, add on 2 children and a mother-in-law and we were able to return to Duas Quintas once again. Mary and Les welcomed us with open arms and Mary actually remembered the room that we had stayed in years prior. Our 2-year old son was spoiled with Duplo Legos and games and Sasha (the family pup) welcomed us each morning on our patio to walk and play. There was a sincere joy that we experienced years ago when we first stayed at the B&B but this visit far and away was the most memorable. To watch your children laugh and play in the natural surroundings of the property was nothing shy of beautiful.
To say that Duas Quintas has a special place in our hearts would be an understatement. The energy and beauty that this B&B exudes is unparalleled. We are already looking forward to our next stay..someday!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are beautiful.

Thank you so much for your comments. We were really touched by what you wrote about how much staying at Duas Quintas meant to you and your family. We loved seeing you both again and meeting your children and mother in law was lovely too. For us it is always great to have guests returning but there is something extra special about getting to know new and extended family members. Our very best wishes to you all.

The consistent 5 star reviews from former Trip Advisor guests first brought us to this B & B…and we can’t wait to return to Duas Quintas! Our hope for an “Algarve unguided walking tour”, aided by informed B & B hosts, could not have been better experienced. Top of the 5 stars is Mary & Les who know the trails themselves, their lounge library with detailed maps and guide books you can’t get at home, their TERRIFIC breakfasts (eggs from their own chicks), their scenic location surrounded by orange trees busting with fruit. Staying near Silves gives guests many options for day walking and touring by car. Traveling from the US with another couple, we enjoyed the cuisine of colorful small local restaurants. The wide variety of walks (easy/moderate/difficult) and spring wild flowers made this one of the most memorable trips in our world travel experience. We fear that so many others will find Das Quintas and make it impossible to get a reservation next time!

Les and Mary were great hosts for our walking holiday stay at Duas Quintas. As part of their Algarve Walking Holiday package, they do quite literally take care of everything. The routes they have developed are varied, well planned and exceptionally well provisioned. And of course the Algarve spring weather did not hurt.

As other reviewers mentioned the accommodations were excellent and the breakfast perfect (lets just say orange juice will never be as good).

Les and Mary are well connected in the Portuguese community and were happy to share their insights. Margarida was particularly delighted when Mary served up a local yoghurt, packaged in a glass container just the way she remembered from her childhood.

We hope to return some day soon,

Bob and Margarida

Room Tip: Do not plan to walk in the hot summer months.

I'll add to the chorus of the many who have enjoyed their stay at Duas Quintas. Extra clean, good beds, comforter, shower and delicious breakfast as described. But the real reason to be here is the hosting of Mary and Les. These are people with great hearts who truly care about their guests. All you need to know is that for her month off, Mary gave of herself and her time to work with the poorest of the poor in Africa. I know both Les and Mary have their life priorities in order! And that shows in the grace and kindness with which they treat others.
