“Weekend in Aveiro”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2014

Spent a night here with family and friends. It is a renovated hotel, with excelent location. Some rooms are small but nice, with the expected amenities. The lounge in the 1st floor is quite nice and has a vending machine with snacks and drinks. The breakfast is very nice.

Room Tip: rooms facing a small square on the side of the hotel may be noisier

This place is a real bargain compared to the overpriced neighbours: Even you won't expect from the decent small lobby (in between banks and restaurants, this recently renovated prooperty has spacious rooms with AC, a huge lounge area (next to breakfast room) and you'll stay in the middle of the "action" of Aveiro - plenty of restaurants for all budgets (tourists and locals) closeby.

Breakfast was outstanding for Portugal (on this low price level) - coffee from machine disgusting (please change that machine)

Parking might be a challenge (free at night and Saturday after 13:00 till Monday morning)

Don't worry about any noise, the new windows are absolutely noise proof.

The room was small, but well-equipped and elegant, the staff is friendly, very tasty breakfast (a lot of fresh fruites). Very good location- close to the shopping centre, bus station. Beautiful buliding and nice view to Aveiro canal

It is an old historical building in the city center. From our window we could see the Aveiro Canal, with the gondolas. It was a little bit like being in Venice.
Our room was big, with a comfortable bed and the bathroom was equipped with all the amenities.
The breakfast was more than adequate, with lots of tempting (toooo tempting) food.
The hotel has some very spacious comfortable common rooms. We had a nice leisurely time in the reading room.
Everything was clean, tasteful, and the staff was friendly.
If you stay there, the Aveiro Palace is a good choice.
Aveiro itself isn't too interesting, except the canals, and that this is the home town of the famous Ovos Moles. There are some not too significant churches and a colorful Sunday market next to the hotel.

Historic building with architectural interest. Renovated recently. Very Central (walking distance from bars, restaurants and shops). Very friendly. Confortable. Good breakfast.

No parking near. Could be stressfull with the bags.

Stayed there as a couple during a weekend to explore the city.

Right in the center of small city with easy walk to canals, and shopping mall. The services were great. The facility and breakfast dining place on first floor is superb! However, I find the room looks old and quite small. Good for short stay.

The location is ideal with views to the river. The room was enormous for the 3 of us (teenage son). A beautiful corner suite with plenty of natural lighting. The service is quick and energetic. A call to the front desk to change the bedding for our son from a playpen to a bed took less then 5 mins. The room staff was pleasant and efficient even though we were communicating in French/Spanish/English! The breakfast room and lounge are simply beautiful and comfortable. Parking is in a different location nearby and the directions are simple and accurate. I would highly recommend the Aveiro Palace hotel.
