Don't be fooled by what looks like a cheap motel on the outside -once you enter it is a modern and very tastefully decorated hotel. Our room was spacious, fresh and simply lovely! The staff was friendly and informative. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful. This has to be the best bargain in Portugal - with the awesome view of the monastery to boot! A very special stop over for us - worth choosing Batalha.

Room Tip: Ask for monastery view - it's very quiet at night so any floor is fine. We were lucky yo be upgraded to a suite with a balcony.

very tastefully decorated rooms. a little on the small side but fully equipped and functional. even tea and coffee facilities, a rarity in portugal.excellent location for visiting the monastery and surrounding ones in tomar etc... pleasant bathroom with very good shower. the food in the restaurant was really recommendable.good breakfast. overall a very good and unexpected experience for such a small town. two nights is enough to see it all. friendly staff.

As soon as we entered our rooms, we were blown away by the outrageously perfect view of the Batalha Monastery and church. And both the room and the hotel were a good match to the spectacle that is the Batalha Monastery. We had been a little anxious that - on the map - the hotel seemed rather close to the highway and might prove to be a typical noisy coach-tour place. Instead, it proved to be a quiet, warm and friendly small hotel with very well appointed, comfortable rooms, good secure wifi and an excellent restaurant with very well-informed staff (ask for advice about the wines). And it was quiet despite an amazing, organised bicycle race event held in the streets that night!
Our only suggestion for improvement would be for better reading lights on the beds.

Room Tip: The view, of course.

The view of the Monastery from our room was stunning. The room itself was simple and adequate. The staff was very attentive. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. Buffet breakfast was bountiful! The weather was not warm enough to sit out on the terrace, so that was a disappointment.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Monastery

This small hotel is in front of breath-taking 14th century Batalha Monastery, UNESCO World Heritage site. Room is very clean, spacious, modern yet very functional being equipped with almost everything including coffee maker, refrigerator and WiFi etc. All the staff is friendly and helpful. Restaurant is also very modern with good variety of dishes. I recommend this hotel if your purpose is to visit the Monastery which is worth visiting. Hotel seems, if I am not mistaken, named after master builder of the Monastery.

Room Tip: Monastery view room will be breath-taking as it is illuminated in front of the Hotel. I took other side room for one night stay, but most enjoyed the stay.
