This beach is fab. I would recommend a packed lunch if you are going everyday as the salads at the beach cafe/bar start at about €12. Although the cute little kiosk with bean bags and great views does good cheap sandwiches. Also bring a wind break.

We didn't have the strong winds that others have written about. A perfect beach day....blue sky, light winds and fun watching people learn to surf! If you park in the sheltered parking lot adjacent to the beach (4 euros a day during the week) they even include a coupon for a free water or Sagres beer at the Giuncho Bar. We took a break from the sun and sat at the small, elevated beach bar on the beach and enjoyed a small quiche and ham sandwich...good espresso, too!

The beach and the coastal road are still fairly wild and the views are stunning, especially at sunset. The boardwalks that take you down to the beach have built well and are in good condition. We walked this area in the early evening and it was almost deserted apart from some locals on the running tracks so a great time to visit when everyone is heading back from the beach.

Gorgeous beach - lovely, soft, golden sand - very clean (water and beach). 4-5 bars and restaurants along the roadside (about a 10 minute walk, depending on what part of the beach you're at).
Day we went was bright blue sky - but a stiff breeze. Wind and para surfers were having a great time. Surf was too strong to swim in. Even on a calm day I would say you'd have to be a strong, confident swimmer to be able to do anything other than just jump into/onto waves. great fun though.
Take the 405/415 circular trip buses from Cascais - bust station is across the road (but underground) from the railway station - it's under a shopping centre with big blue glass windows.
Bus is quite expensive 3.25 euro each, single trip. Takes about 20-25 minutes to get to the beach.
