Description: Ate on the terrace in April 2011 and it was delicious. We shared a seafood rice (25euros) which we were told would feed two people. It was fantastic and easily the best paella we ate on our trip and would feed three people especially if you have bread and a starter. This was the best meal we had during our 3 weeks in Spain and Portugal. One of our party spilt a little sauce on her top and the waiter came to her aid immediately with a spray to fix her blouse. Fantastic service, setting, price. Wish I could eat there again.

“Typical holiday-resort 'British-style' pub/resto with live sports”
Reviewed 12 October 2013

We often popped in here for a drink before dinner but never ate here - there are such great restaurants in Cascais that it seemed a shame to waste a meal on British pub grub! Inside is quite dark in a traditional British pub style. Outside is a largish terrace area with fairly closely packed tables which are nearly always full. There is usually a host standing outside trying to entice you in which I always find a bit off-putting.

Nevertheless, once you are sat down the service is quite quick and for those who are really missing home you can get a pint of Guinness. We never ate here but people around us usually were and I have to say the food looked fairly uninspiring. But if you are looking for pub-grub style fish and chips rather then the fresh local variety then this is probably your place. Have to say it also seemed to be fairly child-friendly as there were usually quite a few families with young children.

One last thing, they do show live British sport (there were football internationals on when we were there) and have several TV screens so if there is a big match on while you are in Cascais, this is a good place to go.

“Warm and friendly people, good service, good food, good prices”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

We had a company event in Cascais and so our crew was always looking for a good place to eat. So we ended up at John Bull.
Everyone of us had a different dish and all of us were happy with what we got. And a check of 170 EUR for 8 people is really not bad.

Fantastic service with great steak burgers, albeit pricey during the Summer tourist season in Cascais.

“It's really a pub, and you pay for it”
Reviewed 17 August 2013

Went there for just a drink, not to eat. Before that I've been in another pub on the same street, The Palm Tree, and I can say that this one is more expensive than the other one, on the same drinks. Anyway, everyone was very nice and it really feels like a pub inside, maybe only missing some music and energy. Although I didn't ate here, I saw many dishes passing by, with really good look!
