“Great little pub hang-out!”
Reviewed 22 July 2014 via mobile

This pub was a great place to relax with some drinks. The bartenders were friendly and provided great service - they weren't able to make a "martini cocktail" for lack of appropriate barware, but were friendly on discussing all of this and making a great mojito instead (elsewhere, when told a service provider says they don't have something or can't do something, they have had a poor attitude and been rude about it, so the bartenders' response here was refreshing and appreciated). Live music, and generally a good place to hang out!

“Wrong location”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

Great place. However, the map doesn't locate the pub in the correct location. Just north of the fish markets. Very close to the promenade. Excellent service and Irish staff.

Reviewed 1 July 2014 via mobile

This year was our third consecutive year going to Cascais and our third year of going to o'luains nearly every night for a warm, welcoming atmosphere where you are always guaranteed a good night! One of the owners Ivor singing is not to be missed, with live music from him every night! Such a lovely man along with Karen the other owner who makes you feel so welcome and would happily do anyting you ask :) staff very friendly too, catriona and Derek!...and it is great as it is not just irish people who go here but all nationalities feel welcome and have a good time :)

“Best Irish Pub Experience in Europe”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

As it is our last night in Cascais and looking back on the previous 9 nights here one thing stands out from this trip, O'Luain's Irish Bar stands out. Generally not one for going abroad & spending a lot of time in what we already have at home, we stumbled upon O'Luain's on our arrival, and were blown away with the place. This is not your 'run of the mill' Irish Pub, the owner & manager are Irish, the bar staff are Portugese but may as well be Irish with their equally friendly manner & understanding of how people want to enjoy themselves on holidays. All GAA matches are shown here live & on RTE or TG4 depending on what game / channel is on. They also show the Sunday Game later on for anyone wishing to get highlights etc. A nightly music session that is considerably different from most other Irish Pubs is on offer with singing from Springsteen to Dylan the order of the day which includes requests or singers from the bar. A very eclectic experience for any visitor guaranteed with many songs sung that you may have forgotten of! A visit here will add to an enjoyable holiday in Cascais and some memorable moments will be had! Go down there have a pint, meet Ivor & the staff, you will then see what we are on about.
