“Small town but Great city!”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

We enjoyed our stay in Cascais very much. You get a bit of that small town feeling, but it has a great many things to see and do in and around the city. Don´t miss the delicious and famous ice cream maker Santini @ Avenida Valbom 28F :)

“Can be extremely busy on a hot day”
Reviewed 16 July 2014 via mobile

The ticket machines had very long queues at the Cais do Sodre but it is only €5 return and an interesting train ride of 40 minutes. The waterfront area is probably more interesting than the old town and there are endless places to eat beside the water. The furtherest beach is lovely but most people are only standing at the waters edge so not sure if it is cold. If you want a cool and cheaper place to eat go to the food court in the shopping complex opposite .

“Take a bike ride”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

Lovely town .. ride a bike on the bike path to Guincho, it's a fabulous ride. In Cascais, good sardines at John Bull, good fish at Flamingo, great, reasonable ceramics at Alexandrina - that was really the only nice ceramic shop that I found and a lovely beach.

“Nice city”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

Touristic, however, relaxing. Good atmosphere in the village, nice sun in summers and cool sea breeze.

“Too many tourists”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

Wouldn't choose Cascais again because there were more tourists than Portugese people. Far too many restauranters that try to drag you in their establishments.
