We are just back from a 10-day stay at the VivaMarinha ApartHotel in Cascais and were very impressed with it. The main thing we loved was the space - with 2 young boys you can often feel a bit confined in holiday accommodation but not here. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and it was huge - large sitting/dining room, seperate kitchen, large hallways, good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms and a terrace as well. It was very nicely furnished and in great condition. We loved the pool as well, it looked great and was just the right depth for our kids to enjoy. The staff were very helpful and organised babysitting for us as well.
The only negative comment I would make is that there isn't a good food service provided. There is a cafe which does quiches, salads etc but it was nearly always empty and wasn't the sort of place you'd go for an evening meal. The one time we ordered room service it was pretty bad. Also, the resort was very quiet which suited us but might be disappointing for people looking for social interaction. Overall though we really loved the place and would definately go back.
