“Lovely location”
Reviewed 4 January 2013

I stayed in this hotel for a conference and really enjoyed it. The room had a wonderful ocean view and staff were friendly and helpful, although there was a lot of variability in their understanding of English.

It is only a short walk to the train station, around which there are plenty of restaurants in the beach. Breakfasts were unremarkably boring, swimming pool was a decent size and it is also very close to the casino (where my conference was held).

Room Tip: Look for a ocean view.

You will be greeted by a very welcoming staff, and they will continue to be ever so pleasant! The location is great given its proximity to the train which will take you to Lisbon as well as buses around the local area. It is a short walk from the beach itself, and in a right up the street from a quaint local artisan grocery shop. The rooms are dated and the carpets are quite worn, but if you are they to stay in your room and not enjoy the lovely Portuguese hospitality and the sights..poor you!

I loved to stay with my family in a calm and cosy atmosphere, with a nice swimming pool and a good breakfast.
A traditional decoration but pleasant.
The staff is dedicated and educated.
I wil be back again for sure.

Spent a week here in October and was disappointed. Rooms were dated and then carpets could do with a good cleaning. Bathroom was very small. Staff did not engage at all with the guests. Bar prices were very expensive. Unfortunately don't think we will be back.

My daughter enjoyed the swimming pool. We hope to came back again.

Room Tip: My room was on the west side was quiet

Once-upon-a-time, this hotel must have been good. Now-a-days (sep.2012) it's sad to say that it has lost its glory. As a retired travel agent with more than 401 years experience in the field I think that I know whatt I'm talking about. The hotel needs an urgent "make-over". Furniture, carpets, wallpaper.....are dirty...stains all over etc... Although I stayed in a suite (room 104)it was impossible to take a hot bath/shower...it was either freezing cold or burning hot. On top of all this were the meals...1 example...on the menu: sardines on toast..sounds good in the land of sardines. Guess what I got...pilchards + tomato sauce straight from the tin can. We finally decided to cancel our half board arrangement.

Stayed here for a week in August in a Junior Suite which was great for the kids as they had a separate area of the room and their own TV. The hotel is well appointed and very clean. Good size pool with a well stocked pool bar and a play area for the kids. As seems traditional in Portugal, the beds are on the firm side but are comfortable and air conditioning was very effective allowing for a good night's sleep.

The breakfast is the usual buffet style with a good selection of breads, meats and cheeses. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant on one evening and the food was a good standard and reasonably priced.

The hotel is only a short walk (2 minutes) from Estoril train station which has 3 trains an hour running into Lisbon so the hotel can be used as a base for exploring the city. The beach is also a couple of minutes away and is large and clean.
