Excellent cafe with wonderful cakes and drinks. It's a shame it closes early.. I think about 8pm. As it would make a lot money, but they obviously don't want to. The service is very good too.

Thank pplondon

Men in sharp business suits, women in the latest fashion outfits, the sports types or just friends pop in for a quick coffee or a breakfast meeting to savor the refined croissants or Portuguese specialties. The variety of food is nearly endless. Excellent delicious food is served by highly professional staff. Service is quick and friendly.

Families stop by mainly at weekends. Morning coffees and afternoon teas are served to friends gathering for a quick or long chat.
It is the place to see or to be seen.

Strange visit. Food and service was good, price wasn’t to bad. Both went for omelettes. Came to pay and they didn’t except English Visa Debit cards, credit cards or Amex. They just let us work out to get cash, which we took our time coming back with, as in I’m writing this review like a keyboard warrior first, maybe go to the beach for a bit, have a little snooze, then go back and wait for my 10 cent change from €26. I wouldn’t go back just because of the attitude of the waiter.

Pastelaria Garrett is a favorite among locals. It's considered upscale but still affordable (maybe even "cheap") for most tourists. It has a very large menu of pastries, seafood, sandwiches, you name it. Alcoholic drinks to various teas to juices are also available. The atmosphere is rather genteel. Starck chairs (or Starck lookalikes). Tablecloths. A place where you can frequently see the Portuguese elite hang out. Almost all Portuguese pastries and staple dishes are available and have the highest standard in quality and taste in the area. It's open from early morning until early evening usually 6 days a week except holidays. Locals frequently buy boxes of pastries to take home. Their hot drinks are especially good because they have the Cimbali machine to make the hottest drinks.
