This course was part of the golf package we had included with our stay at the Palacio Estoril Hotel. It just happened that it rained for a few days and we were only able to play it once when the sun finally came out. There was a sign on the reception wall noting that this was one of the best courses in Portugal at one time, but it is obvious that maintenance has gone downhill. It is a pretty course, with a decent layout. But the fairways and greens do need work. Coming from N.America we are not exactly used to this kind of condition in a "top" golf course. But it was pleasant enough, and we were eager to play after a few days of rain. Like one of your contributors remarked "Once was enough" : yes, once was probably enough for us too.
