“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2014

really enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

Location was about a 30 minute walk into Cascais, you could get a taxi down for about €5, which is quite reasonable.

Alternatively the was a train station about 10 mins walk away. from here you can get a train into Lisbon City Centre ina bout 25-30 mins.

We had a decent sized apartment, big bedroom, big sitting rooms area and nice balcony.

we had a sink, fridge, kettle, microwave (very 1980's), and pots and pans etc.

nearby there is a small grocery store too

Hotel had good sized pool, if I remember correctly the deep end was 3 m deep.

hotel also had a gym, but I never saw anyone in there

The place is not very well located. You have to be aware that you are quite far from the train station (Estoril or Monte Estoril) ~ 15 min walk uphill.
Same for the beach.

From the outside, the place looks new and great. The inside is also allright although I was surprised to find tiles on the floor of the bedroom. Also the window was not very soundproof.

I found the guy at the reception not very helpful as we had to switch room from another hotel. We got there at noon and wanted to drop our luggage in the room (without using any facility). The guy did not want to as the checkin time was at 2pm. He could have been more accomodating to us as we were transferred there by another hotel.

So overall a good place to stay if you don't intend to take the train or go too often to the beach, or if you are too old to walk up the hill. The Saboia hotel or the Eden hotel are much better located for the beach or for the train station.

My husband and I have just returned from a week at the Clube do Lago apart-hotel. We had a great week. The reception area is attractive and spotless and our room was very spacious, airy and comfortable. The kitchenette area was a little dated but served its purpose. We were able to make breakfast and some simple evening meals there. Although various kitchen items were missing when we arrived, these were quickly supplied once we notified the friendly and helpful staff on reception. A lttle supermarket only 3 or 4 minutes walk away, served our basic shopping needs.

The pool area was also spotlessly clean and attractive.

The hotel is up a hill but this wasn't a problem for us. There were many good restaurants along the sea front, in Cascais - a 30-40 minute walk from the hotel - and a lovely one just round the corner from the hotel in a park opposite the supermarket. It served good food at very reasonable prices.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend it for families and mature couples. It is probably less suitable for young people wanting to be near night life or those who can't easily manage hills.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool and with a balcony.

We stayed in a one-bed 'suite' style apartment in Clube do Lago facing pool. Apartment was very spacious, v comfy kingsize bed, great balcony, kitchenette - all a bit dated & could do with an upgrade but once we got used to it we loved it as was so airy & spacious. if i was to be critical at all, shower was straight from the 80s.. shower curtain and only an attachment head. water pressure was good though and it did the job but really the bathroom could do with a full upgrade. It is a good walk in and out to Cascais but we welcomed this to walk off food! If you want somewhere family friendly with lots of space it's perfect. If you want somewhere really modern and in the heart of Cascais - Clube do Lago may not be for you..

My husband and I have just returned from a seven night stay in this hotel. We were very impressed with it's high standard. The whole place looks newly decorated and is sparkling clean. Our room was large and very spacious with a well equipped kitchenette and large comfortable twin beds. We also had a good size balcony overlooking the pool. The pool area was very pretty with plenty of pretty plants and a waterfall. There was never any trouble getting a sun bed no matter what time we went to the pool but there was a shortage of parasols. I think a few more wouldn't go amiss as fair skinned people cannot sit out in the sun without shade.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us great advice in planning our trips to Cascais, Sintra and Lisbon. There is a lovely tea room and bakery attached to the hotel where we relaxed a few afternoons with a coffee and cake. The area around the hotel seems to be a wealthy well kept area and is very quiet. There is a train station and bus stop quite near the hotel. We walked along the promenade to Cascais most nights where there are plenty of restaurants to suit every taste. The walk back is very tiring as it is uphill to the hotel but if you are fit it is no problem but there are plenty of taxis if you are feeling tired.

We did a bit of touring and spent a day in Lisbon which is only 30 minutes away by train and we also spent a day in Sintra which is 30 minutes away by bus.

We definitely would have no problem in recommending this hotel to family and friends and would hope to return ourselves sometime in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the pool.

Great service and prompt staff. Spacious rooms with a nice kitchenette. Very clean. However, it is a bit dated. I've stayed there for the first time in 1995 when it was called Clube Mimosa. It seems that certain aspects of this hotel are stuck in time. The beds are very basic and noisy. Not very comfortable. Breakfast very basic also. Overall, just a decent place.
