“again at Londres hotel”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Every time when I went to Portugal I stayed in this hotel. A very friendly staff as always, very clean and peaceful hotel.
They extended the wire less in the rooms but it was a mess: in one of the evenings they changed the password and the user code for 3 or 4 times, very slow the speed of internet. You can have the dinner there too (buffet).... but it was not at high standards, very fat food, overcooked steaks although there were a variety of food .Nice and clean pool, peaceful .
For avoiding the noise of the street is better to ask for a room faced to pool, garden.
All in one this is a good hotel , very, very clean and a very friendly staff, good location

Room Tip: The best are the rooms faced to pool or garden.

This was an eight day holiday through "Travel Department" highly recommend their escorted tours holidays. We stayed at Londres hotel, which was in Estoril, The hotel was clean and comfortable, rooms adequate for this kind of holiday. The dining room was very dark and the food disappointing . Except on our last evening when we were all put into a much nicer dining room and were given a very different meal and experience. Waiter service as opposed to buffet with free flowing vino!!!! We sat at round tables which accommodated 10 people, whereas in the main dining area all tables were set for four people, meaning strangers had to share and larger parties were split. Round tables were far more convivial and changed the whole atmosphere, it was a lovely last evening! We all agreed we would happily forgo the free vino, had we been able to enjoy food and service every night. Having said that, the holiday was very good value and we saw a lot of places we would possibly not have visited if travelling alone. Evening entertainment in the hotel was lacking and the bar area was cafe style.. The pool was very small as was the garden and pool area, but quiet and peaceful for evening sunbathing. A modern hotel, good for travellers.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony.

Stayed in hotel in early June on a half board basis. No problem with room- basic but enough space. Room was facing road - traffic didn't bother us. Staff friendly and hotel clean. Big problem in hotel is quality of food. Over cooked scrambled eggs in the morning to over cooked fish for dinner. Buffet dinner costs €14.95 and really it would be better if one properly cooked course was served for that price.
Very little to do at night in Estoril apart from the casino. It really is an area to sleep and then get train to other places in the morning or walk to Cascais( lovely resort with lots of restaurants).
Close to the hotel there is a lovely Italian restaurant that we ate in a couple of nights

We arrived May 25 and left June 1and found it a great location (close to train station casino and beach) lots of parking on the street, friendly helpful staff, nice pool and surrounding deck, and well maintained. I would recommend staying on the inside rooms of the tower as the car noise from the street is quite loud. We stayed in room 505 of the tower after asking to be moved from 510 as it faced the street. We had e-mailed them for a room on the inside but never received a response. The room was clean, the bed on the hard side and the pillows were lumpy, room safe should be included in price of room, Wifi is available throughout hotel. Bathroom was clean and of a useful size. They tried updating the all white tiles in the bathroom by painting two rows of tile. Unfortunately they must have run out of paint as there was two shades of grey on the tiles and the lines were none too straight. Should have left tiles alone. We had a murphy bed in our room also, which took up space where I would have preferred to have a couch. We ate in the hotel dining room the first night after our flight over and decided not to eat there again. The food was bland and expensive (33.80 E without drinks) for what you got at the buffet for the money. We ate at other restaurants in the area (check Trip Advisor) and found them to be of better value and much tastier. I'll review them as well. Breakfast though, was fine with a good selection of food. This is a three star hotel and as we were traveling each day I didn't get to use the hotel facilities very much, just the last day by the pool. Thursday, upon returning late from dinner we found entertainers in the lobby area. One sang as the other played electric piano. A large group of women were in the hotel lobby also and as they listened we were all up eventually dancing after tables and chairs got moved aside. It was a lot of fun. Overall a good 3 star hotel that I would recommend.

Room Tip: Inside tower rooms are quieter and was told the rooms over looking the pool were smaller than ours i...

Lovely and clean hotel with friendly staff. This hotel was much better than other three-stars hotels I have visited. I am now going to this hotel again tomorrow and I am really looking forward to meet the friendly portugise people again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool

Every morning blackbird sang beautifully from a tall tree in the garden of the hotel, if you have the door to the balcony open and will wake up a little early!
We traveled with Albatros Travel as a group from Norway and Denmark. Hotel Londres is used as the base for this week's stay.
Hotel Londres has a decent location for the beach , casino and railway station in Estoril and has a nice beach promenade to Cascais . Nice little trip.
Train to Lisbon takes no time and is cheap. Taxis to Cascais can also be used !

When you book your travel or accommodation recommended room overlooking the swimming pool. Request this in your order.
Staff are friendly and helpful . Breakfast is slightly above standard quality. The coffee quality can be discussed. The buffet dinners were generally of good quality. Wifi in the rooms and throughout the hotel . Decent speed with my Iphone. Nice rooms, with a few bugs in the bathroom and the balcony that should be corrected. Room cleaned every day.
Safe in the room that should be included.
Bar area was good, but should have had a bigger and cleaner TV screen!
Conclusion ;
Hotel Londres is a good 3 star hotel with the essentials for a hotel, a good and friendly staff .
