a simple friendly place. Great location. João and the team are fab. It's not as plush as some as the hostels in Lisbon, but those places often have no atmosphere and are full of nervous travelers. The beds at Lisbon Old Town Hostel I could sleep in all day - sooo comfy. cheers guys!

You cannot beat the location (so central that it is a 10 minute walk to everywhere), the staff is the coolest and the best, the morning breakfast rocks, and the price is right. The hostel is clean, and has a very laid back vibe. Think of an MTV Real World house without the drama. The Hostel is very clean and well furnished. They have private rooms if you are not into sharing or traveling with children (as several were when we stayed there), so this is a terrific option for those budget minded travelers who don't like sharing rooms with strangers, I would recommend this highly to anyone coming to Lisbon on a budget!

The amazing Lisbon Old Town Hostel is conveniently located near the Baixa-Chiado metro station and the 28 streetcar line and not far away from the Cais do Sodre metro and train station. The environment is extremely easy and friendly, events are regularly organized, also with other hostels, so as to improve your Lisbon experience. The employees are amazing people for an amazing place. I readin a previous review complaints about the place being uphill. Well, it's true, but once in Lisbon it will become second nature to you to guess other ways to go where you haveto so as to make the road maybe longer but a loss less steep. In this case, when you get out of the metro at Baixa-Chiado just in front of the Brasilera cafe, do not go down Rua Garrett just to turn right and have to go up again, that way it *is* uphill. Instead, just take the very gentle slope of Rua Loreto, this will climb very little, then turn left into Rua Chagas and you'll arrive at the hospital from above and sweating a lot less. Enjoy!!

I really felt much at home in this lovely hostel. The location is very cool, feels more secured, and mostly importantly the staff are very friend and helpful :)
Indeed it is a unique hostel in Lisboa.

I've been traveling for a while now and seen many many hostels around the world. I can say that Lisbon Old Town Hostel was one of the coziest one. The location is great, just couple of minutes from Barrio Alto or Cias do Sodre from where you can easily catch a train to the beach. The atmosphere is pretty much relaxing, you won't find any stress inside the walls of the hostel. Perfect for every age, met there with young Aussie mates to older Irish lady traveling around in Europe.

The stuff is amazing and caring. They know the city quite well and they not only help you out with the general infos but also with the ones that you can only get from locals. Don't miss Urbi's dinner, great 4-course deal for 8 EUR and you get to meet the fellow travelers while having some local food with great wine.

well done guys.

The staff here were friendly right from the get go. They went out of their way to help us out with info, and even hooked me up with train tickets to get around Lisbon. You definately have to eat the home cooked meal at least once at the Hostel. The location is great and its a 5 minute walk to the beach which is nice to watch the sunset and grab a meal or ice-cream. The beds are clean and the rooms spacious for a share room hostel. (Ive stayed in tons) What ever you do, make sure you go to BELEM and try the custard tarts at the Pasteis De Belem. They aint world famous for nothing!!!
